Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The sound of ”bam” passed through Helot’s half-gel body and reached Yang Yu’s ears.

Through the panel, Yang Yu observed Helot’s status.

Helot’s blood volume slowly decreased, with no abnormal status.

Is the attack of [Count Blood] just like this?

Yang Yu could feel Helot tightening his body, seemingly using all his strength to prevent himself from disintegrating and exposing Yang Yu to the explosive poison rain.

Helot’s voice quickly surged beside Yang Yu’s ear, ”Yang Yu, I don’t know what’s happening to my body, it’s starting to shrink slowly, it’s about to snap!”

[Count Blood] was right in front of him, yet Yang Yu had to stop his attack, retract his longsword, and charge back to Iyas and the others with a [Protective Assistance Charge].

Helot instantly shrank rapidly like a deflated balloon, fell off Yang Yu, and turned into a puddle of slime on the ground with black currents jumping over him.

[Count Blood] has a method to dispel the Slime overcoat.

Handing Helot over to Iyas for healing, Yang Yu hadn’t had a chance to catch his breath before [Count Blood] manipulated the poison swamp beneath him, spraying purple poison fog, transforming into countless poisonous snakes biting towards Yang Yu.

Taking out the [Flame Dragon Shield], he slammed it heavily into the ground, releasing [Interception], and an Illusion Shield unfolded in front of Yang Yu.

The roaring poison fog, like snakes, crashed into Yang Yu’s shield, immediately dispersing, bypassing the Illusion Shield, transformed back into snakes, and charged towards Yang Yu again.

Letting go of the shield, Yang Yu retreated repeatedly, temporarily abandoning the shield, and dove into the trailer filled with Slimes, grabbing a random Slime for wrapping.

The poison fog instantly engulfed Yang Yu and his companions, but the Slime overcoats isolated the poison fog, preventing anyone from getting poisoned.

The prison reverberated with violent coughing, originally targeting Yang Yu and his group, the poison fog spread elsewhere, causing one imprisoned ”Death Row Inmate” to cough uncontrollably, spewing crimson from his mouth, his body eroded by the poison fog, oozing black blood.

This scene played out in the shadows, while Iyas and the others didn’t witness it directly, they knew this poison fog was definitely not something to be touched lightly.

Safety was only temporary, as everyone’s hearts raced, wary that [Count Blood] might dispel their Slime overcoats just as he did with Yang Yu’s.

After distributing the poison fog, [Count Blood] revealed a Storage Magic Array in the palm of his right hand, from which a black bead floated out.

Clamping the black bead between thumb and forefinger, he exerted effort and crushed it, causing the bead to turn into powder, which instantly became black light, forming a black sphere suspended before [Count Blood]’s chest.

Currents jumped over the black sphere, passing through layers of purple poison fog without any sign, striking at Yang Yu and his group.

Before [Count Blood] launched the attack, Iyas already felt uneasy. Her intuition told her that if struck by [Count Blood]’s upcoming attack, it wouldn’t merely be an injury but far worse consequences.

Pulling out the Elf Secret Treasure [Goddess’s Smile] from her chest, Iyas directly activated its active [Holy Light’s Blessing].

A light shield made of golden light rapidly expanded from Iyas as the center, dispelling the poison fog, enveloping Yang Yu and everyone else.

No matter how intensely [Count Blood]’s black magic vibrated or struck, the golden light shield remained unmoved, showing not even the slightest change.

The Elf Secret Treasure [Goddess’s Smile]’s active effect can only be used once a day, but it possesses a powerful effect that immunizes all damage for a certain time.

While ordinary use only lasts five seconds, Iyas has the special ability [Holy Light Blessed Person LV.MAX], which allows her to amplify Holy Light, and this ability also affects certain tools.

As long as Iyas continuously infuses her Holy Light into [Goddess’s Smile], she can double the duration of [Holy Light’s Blessing].

[Holy Light’s Blessing] differs from ordinary shields in that no matter the amount of damage absorbed or the type of attack faced, it isn’t destroyed, representing a truly invincible status.

Since it can only be used once daily, Iyas always chooses to use it at critical moments.

Though the battle with [Count Blood] had just begun, Iyas’s intuition told her there might not be a more critical time than now, and she chose to trust in her instincts.

Black currents kept striking the golden shield, with [Count Blood] wearing a stern face.

Black magic causes surrounding magic power to collapse and become more destructive. If long exposed to black magic, a person’s body magic power changes, interfering with bodily functions.

Slimes, being a fairly primitive type of demon primarily composed of magical power, are more susceptible to black magic’s influence.

[Count Blood] used a slight technique to let the black magic hidden in the poison swamp rain pass through Helot’s body, temporarily sealing Helot’s transformation.

However, simply sealing Helot isn’t enough, [Count Blood] needs to seal more Slimes.

Vampires of this race can unrestrainedly use black magic, which quickly repairs any damage to their bodies caused by black magic.

However, the essence of black magic is collapse and destruction.

Continually using black magic causes vampire’s physiological functions to overload, keeping them in a perpetual state of fatigue.

Furthermore, excessive use of black magic intensifies a vampire’s bloodlust.

Having lived for hundreds or thousands of years, [Count Blood] naturally knows the consequences of excessive use of black magic, having long determined the daily amount of black magic he can release.

Aiming to defeat the Demon King and eradicate the Devil King’s Power, [Count Blood] usually stores black magic and corrupted magic power in special containers using a special method.

A bead can store four hundred days’ worth of black magic; each bead is a critical strategic resource for [Count Blood].

Taking it out for usage now underscores his regard for Yang Yu.

[Count Blood] planned to use this black magic to cover the bodies of Slimes, exploiting their increased surface area to infiltrate black magic and erode their bodies, temporarily suspending their transformation abilities, then settling the battle swiftly with the toxins enveloping Yang Yu and his companions.

Unfortunately, [Count Blood] hadn’t anticipated this fierce attack being blocked by the bizarre light shield. No matter how he manipulated the black magic offensively, he couldn’t breach the shield protecting Iyas and her group.

”How annoying.”

Due to [Count Blood]’s emotional fluctuations, the black current striking the light shield shifted, darting towards the ceiling, penetrating the floors of the first and second underground levels, shooting into the sky.

[Count Blood] had to concentrate to prevent the black light from scattering everywhere, lest the entire castle be demolished.
