Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The [Count Blood] also noticed Yang Yu and his group’s arrival. The magic he intended to unleash was ready, but he didn’t use it immediately.

”They came faster than I imagined.

I guessed it nearly correctly.

Originally, in a confined space, I should have the upper hand; they’re just walking into a trap...

But because they brought that annoying Slime, I must reassess the risks.”

Without much hesitation, [Count Blood] snapped his fingers heavily, and a door of Darkness appeared beside him.

Passing through that black door, [Count Blood] met with Yang Yu and his rushing team.

[Count Blood] greeted Yang Yu unhurriedly:

”I didn’t expect you’d shamelessly appear here.

I am someone who highly respects talent. As long as you follow me, I would never treat anyone unfairly.

Yet you keep challenging my patience again and again.

No matter how affable or patient I am, you’ve completely worn it out.

Appearing here, launching an attack on my castle, you’ve already prepared to pay the price for your actions, haven’t you?”

[Count Blood] stretched out his hand, and a dazzling blackness danced continuously in his palm.

[Count Blood] suddenly appeared; everyone was astounded, but within just a few seconds, they were ready to engage in battle.

This time, Yang Yu didn’t attack first.

Iyas pulled her bow, a Light Arrow formed on the bowstring, slicing through the pitch-black prison, directly targeting [Count Blood].

[Count Blood] didn’t dodge at all. The dazzling blackness covered his palm; he waved his hand forward, easily breaking the Light Arrow Iyas shot forth.

Iyas didn’t have time to be amazed; she immediately pulled the bow for the next attack.

Yang Yu followed Iyas’s Light Arrow, moving to [Count Blood]’s right front, thrusting towards [Count Blood]’s chest.

[Count Blood] extended his hand again, intending to catch the Sword Blade bare-handed, thoroughly crushing Yang Yu’s spirit.

However, just as Yang Yu’s sword was about to be pinched by his two fingers, it suddenly recoiled.

[Count Blood]’s thumb and index finger grasped at air, as Yang Yu altered the sword’s trajectory, aiming at [Count Blood]’s abdomen.

Reaching out with his other hand and simultaneously dodging backward, Yang Yu’s Sword Blade skimmed past [Count Blood]’s fingers, carving a crimson line.

Just as Yang Yu’s longsword was about to pierce the abdomen, [Count Blood] suddenly turned illusory, turning into a black mist that dissipated, immediately distancing himself from Yang Yu.

Watching his bleeding finger heal, [Count Blood] hadn’t expected that the first injury would be his.

”Quite impressive.

Despite all the evaluations I did before, it seems I’ve underestimated your abilities, especially your combat capabilities.

Before coming here, through your plainness, how many of my subordinates have you killed?

They were all important combat forces of mine.”

”Standing on the opposing side, one must be prepared for the risk of being killed.” Yang Yu said as he launched another attack on [Count Blood].

Lingshan, Lang Yi, Hualan, and Lotcar also sprang into action, with the Slime in the cart eager to join the fight.

”Standing on the opposing side, one must be prepared for the risk of being killed? You really do say some good words; then surely you also have that awareness!”

[Count Blood]’s playful eyes suddenly turned sharp, with an unspeakable oppressive force sweeping the surroundings.

Yang Yu was now on the third level underground; here was also an Underground Prison, but unlike the first two layers, one could hardly see any living people here, with dried black blood splattered on the walls and floor, bones laying everywhere, and various torture instruments randomly placed.

Indeed, this layer was used to detain the ”Death Row Inmates”.

The first two layers held important strategic materials, and [Count Blood] was reluctant to destroy those items against Yang Yu, so he temporarily set the battle site on the third layer.

Among the living people on the third level were not only unexecuted Death Row Inmates but also individuals particularly capable enough to still stand on their own.

[Count Blood] would let them witness one cruel execution after another, hear the shrill cries of those ”Death Row Inmates” repeatedly, to either intimidate or mentally warp them into being controlled.

This method certainly doesn’t ensure complete loyalty but maximizes the prevention of talent loss, putting them to good use.

Although his attack might affect them now, it’s much better than losing the people on the upper two levels.

Here is also held a very important figure, once a colleague, but [Count Blood] couldn’t care less for her; if that person dies, so be it.

[Count Blood] despises those who swear unwavering allegiance to the Demon King.

Undeterred by [Count Blood]’s oppression, Yang Yu approached [Count Blood] again.

[Count Blood] still showed no sign of dodging, as a purple swamp spread beneath his feet, exuding an incredibly pungent, nauseating odor.

This skill is named [Poison Swamp], extremely plain and straightforward, merely creating a swamp of poison.

But, such a simple skill proves vastly different when used by different people.

A typical poisonous race might just make their opponent uncomfortable with it, but [Count Blood] certainly could take someone’s life with it, using toxins that cannot be neutralized by conventional antidotes.

Grabbing the bars, Yang Yu leaped from the ground, rotating 90 degrees, and using [Climbing], firmly stood on the prison bars, launching another assault towards [Count Blood].

Moving his finger, the purple toxins in the swamp followed [Count Blood]’s movement, forming dense raindrops, pelting at Yang Yu.

Yang Yu avoided the swamp merely to prevent its slowing effect from hindering his ability to attack and defend properly. Facing the pouring poison rain, Yang Yu didn’t evade, allowing the purple toxins to patter on the Helot-cloaked him.

”Just as I imagined, you’re utilizing the Slime’s Immune to Toxin trait to negate my poison effects.

I never expected you could think of such a method to deal with me. I must say, if I was unsuspecting, it would indeed cause me significant troubles.

However, alas, being aware of it, I won’t let your plans succeed easily.

Sometimes, being overly confident can usher unprecedented disaster.”

[Count Blood]’s eyes emitted a red light, as the raindrops flying around Yang Yu burst incessantly like firecrackers, releasing a contained black electric current that lashed at the Slime cloak formed by Helot.
