Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The one who came wasn’t the [Count Blood] himself, just an illusion he created, with only half the attribute of the original body.

By dispatching the illusion so calmly, Yang Yu could see the composure of [Count Blood].

Since the other side came to test him, Yang Yu naturally wouldn’t miss this opportunity,

”Count, you are indeed calm. I’ve wiped out many of your subordinates in one go. I don’t think you would let me off so easily.”

[Count Blood]’s illusion was courteous, showing no anger or dissatisfaction on his face, just smiling:

”Defeating so many of my subordinates at once, I am indeed very angry.

But, those with grand ambitions do not fuss over trifles.

Moreover, it was my subordinates who took it upon themselves to launch an attack.

I’m sorry for frightening you. I’ll punish her later.”

”What a convincing story. The welcoming ceremony when we arrived was indeed enthusiastic,” Yang Yu sarcastically remarked, ”What exactly are you scheming?”

”I saw something interesting and decided on a whim to make another attempt. It’s too bad for someone as strong as you to die.”

In [Count Blood]’s words, there was an implication, indicating to Yang Yu that if he did not stand on their side, he would show no mercy.

Yang Yu said: ”Up until now, you haven’t given up on me.”

”It’s not about giving up or not,” [Count Blood] replied, ”I just feel like I forgot to tell you some important things during our last conversation.

A lack of information often leads to incorrect judgments.

If I had told you more back then, you might not appear on this island now.”

”Important things?”

[Count Blood] was straightforward, ”I once mentioned that the Demon King is very strong, but it’s not just him; his subordinates are too. Yet I never elaborated on how strong he really is.

For either you or me to think of defeating him is nothing more than a fool’s dream.

We have a few ideological differences. You might not agree with the world I want to establish, but we both have a common goal, which is to take down the Demon King invading this world.

Here’s a condition: if you decide to return now, I will provide you with intelligence on the Demon King Army.”

”Don’t you remember when we first met, I said it was difficult for us to trust each other?”

”Even without trust, there are ways to form alliances, as long as we have a common goal, it’s worth a try.

I can clearly tell you, the strength I have now is beyond your imagination, but even so, I am very afraid of the Demon King.

If facing the Demon King directly, it would be a narrow chance of survival.

Because of this, I seek alliances everywhere.

If even I don’t stand a chance, then you would be like an egg hitting a rock.”

Yang Yu decided to play along, saying, ”The famous [Count Blood], with such a lack of confidence, is the Demon King really that strong?”

”The Demon King who inherits strength is invincible in the Demon World, no matter the generation,” said [Count Blood].

”Invincible? That’s outrageous....” Staring at [Count Blood], Yang Yu couldn’t detect any sign of deception on his face, ”Is it true?”

[Count Blood] did not directly answer Yang Yu’s question but continued saying, ”To defeat him, it can only be done in this world. And it needs to be as swift as possible.”

”Do you mean that once he enters this world, the Demon King’s power will weaken due to acclimatization issues?”

”You can understand it that way. This is the Demon King’s only weakness, and because of this, previous Demon Kings have been defeated by Heroes,” [Count Blood] affirmed.

[Count Blood] showed no hint of jesting; Yang Yu furrowed his brows and asked, ”The Demon King’s power will greatly diminish, but what about the rest of the Demon King Army’s power?”

[Count Blood] replied, ”The power will indeed be reduced, but not as significantly.

This world has already run low on magic.

As a vanguard who came here first, my power was indeed weakened to some extent.

If the gateway between the two worlds opens and a large amount of magic pours into this world, I can regain some of my power.

However....

A large influx of magic into this world would also quickly strengthen the humans, allowing them to gradually gain the strength to oppose the Demon King Army.

Facing this situation, the Demon King usually takes one of two strategies.

One is to quickly seize human cities at lightning speed before a large number of strong individuals appear among humans, strangling them in the cradle.

The other is to slowly accumulate power, not actively attacking, while the Demon King slowly regains his strength upon descending into this world. As long as the Demon King’s recovery speed exceeds the growth speed of other humans, he can maintain dominance until slow rule is achieved.”

Yang Yu, through the records of the giant dragon, had seen parts of wars between humans and the Demon King. Unfortunately, the Victory Points he had then were not enough to allow him to fully view every battle between Demon Kings and Heroes.

This information was something Yang Yu heard for the first time.

”Which strategy do you think the current Demon King will take?”

”If you ask me, it must be the former.”

”Why are you so sure?”

[Count Blood] said, ”Since this generation’s Demon King began ruling the Demon World, ninety-nine years have passed, and next year will be exactly a hundred years.

Though there have been cases of Demon Kings lying in wait, doing so for over fifty years is quite rare.

Lying in wait for this long is partly because the gate here was destroyed, and self-repair takes some time. But there are other reasons...

What do you think is the reason?”

Yang Yu narrowed his eyes in thought for a moment before giving his answer:

”If we combine it with what you said earlier, is the Demon King on the other side waiting until the magic resources here are depleted to a certain level before planning an invasion?

Didn’t wait until the magic was completely exhausted because there wouldn’t be enough magic to open the gate here, or was it because it would take too much time, and Lord Demon King couldn’t wait?”

[Count Blood] expressed appreciation in his eyes and smiled, ”As expected of you. If I had to say, it would be both.

In this world where most of the magic has run dry, there are quite a few strong individuals, but they stand no chance against the overwhelming tide of the Demon King Army.

If this world were suddenly infused with a large amount of magic, various Magic Beasts would emerge like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.

That would surely worsen the situation.

For the Demon King Army, there is no better opportunity than this.

Even if you united all the hidden strong figures in this world, there would absolutely be no way to withstand the overwhelming Demon King Army.

But I know their weaknesses, I know the weaknesses of each key officer.

Having worked with them for so many years, I know very well where their weaknesses lie.

If you return now, I will regard you as an ally, and reveal the weak points of those officers to you step by step.

The differences between you and me can wait until we defeat the Demon King.

What do you think?”
