Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

With a massive bang, the entire warship shook violently as something severely crashed into the bottom of the ship!

The Enchanting Demon hovering in mid-air was unaffected by the violent shaking of the ship, but Yang Yu and his team fighting the Demon on the ship found their movements contorted due to the ship’s tremor, revealing numerous weaknesses.

The Demons seized the opportunity to attack, cutting a crimson mark on Lingshan’s cheek with a Long Spear belonging to one of the Demons.

Lingshan crouched down, lowering her center of gravity, and countered with the Sea God Spiral, two spiraling water columns soared into the sky, wrapping around a Demon’s leg.

In mid-air, Lang Yi slashed a beautiful trajectory towards the Demon, striking its chest and leaving a cross-shaped wound, causing blood to splatter instantly.

Hualan had just summoned the Contracted Spirit Body, but before assisting the Island Drifting crew with the attack, her attention was diverted by the Spiritual Body composed at the bottom of the ship.

Through the Spiritual Little Fish, Hualan could sense something rapidly approaching the warship from the ocean depths.

A massive bubble, akin to an enormous projectile, sped through the sea, striking the ship’s bottom.

With a loud rumbling, the warship shook once again.

This world holds countless sea-dwelling species, and the warship was reinforced at the bottom during design to prevent excessive underwater attacks from sinking the vessel. The massive Air Cannon couldn’t penetrate the ship’s bottom.

However, the Air Cannon was just a beginning.

As soon as the Air Cannon stopped, massive Spiny Scale Lizards swam up from the seabed, each clawing at the ship’s bottom.

Some of these Lizards balled their fists and, against the water flow, relentlessly battered the ship’s bottom, hoping to sink the vessel; others pierced their claws into the ship’s body and slowly climbed onto the ship, aiming to slaughter Yang Yu and his companions.

Even though the ship hadn’t suffered extensive damage yet, the Barrier activation was affected.

Shell endured the Demon’s attack while Luo Luosi continued steering the ship, navigating the journey. She also realized that the Barrier’s activation speed had significantly slowed due to interference from the Spiny Scale Lizards.

Leaving here to manually activate the Barrier in the cabin seemed unrealistic. Even if the Barrier was successfully activated, its efficacy remained uncertain.

What to do now?

The Island Drifting crew were all sea-dwelling species, and even if the ship sank, they could freely navigate the ocean, but Yang Yu and his team were genuine land species...

Luo Luosi was unsure of how many people Count Blood had assigned for this mission, but the numbers were likely considerable.

If Yang Yu and his team fell into the sea, they would probably be ravaged like falling into a dense school of piranhas, leaving nothing but bones behind.

If Count Blood had assigned a significant number of people to create a web in the ocean, these sea-dwellers could also face a life-threatening situation.

”There’s only one way.”

Concentrating her mind, Luo Luosi crafted a Shell amplifier using Magic Power and, at maximum volume, announced to everyone:

”Everyone, hold on tight!”

As soon as she spoke, Luo Luosi released the ship’s deceleration device, disregarding the unactivated Barrier, and concentrated all Magic Power into the ship’s engine.

The previously slowed warship immediately bolted forward like a wild horse, racing towards a distant island with thunderous speed.

The Demons fighting Bai Jin and the others in mid-air were hurled several meters away in an instant, and due to inertia, everyone on the ship tilted backward. Luo Hasta extended a tentacle using the mast as a fulcrum, gently pulling others to prevent them from being thrown overboard.

Aslit, who was clashing blades with Yang Yu, also felt the impact of the sudden acceleration. Her Sword Blade’s swing deviated, allowing Yang Yu to easily dodge by simply lowering his head.

Using Climbing to stabilize himself, Yang Yu swiftly sheathed his sword, grabbed the Long Stick Sky Fall, and took advantage of Aslit’s airborne inability to adjust her position, striking her side with a direct blow.

Aslit was also thrown from the ship, spinning several times in mid-air before barely coming to a halt.

Yang Yu initially thought the Demons weren’t adept at close combat, but judging by this encounter, they were more competent than he imagined, possessing exceptional close combat skills.

He wondered if they might have transformed from humans naturally skilled in close combat.

Demons could also cast Charm on males, making them exceptionally challenging to deal with. Lang Yi, Luo Hasta, and Lotcar suffered greatly because of this, narrowly avoiding disaster thanks to intervention from He Meng and Helot.

Yang Yu had prepared to consume a pill that granted immunity to abnormal status for a certain period, although the pill’s effect couldn’t match the Special Potion used to lure the Demons, it sufficed.

Regrettably, those pills were quite expensive, and Yang Yu didn’t have many. He still hoped to use them after landing on the island.

Deep inside the enemy’s camp, a single Charm from the adversaries could lead to total defeat.

Throwing Aslit out offered only a temporary reprieve.

Numerous robust Spiny Scale Lizards tightly latched onto Yang Yu and his team’s warship, as the Lizards at the ship’s bottom loudly expanded like drawing pins, their forms enlarged. Grasping the bubbles and water currents, they increased the underwater resistance, causing the newly accelerated ship to gradually decelerate.

The Demons ejected from the ship flapped their wings and pursued fiercely, it wouldn’t take them long to confront Yang Yu and his team again, launching attacks.

Taking a deep breath, Yang Yu seized the opportunity during this moment, swiftly navigating the ship to help others quickly dispatch the Demons that hadn’t left the ship.

Right after resolving the lingering Demons, a Spiny Scale Lizard crawled onto Yang Yu’s ship, landing heavily on the deck. Its scales continuously quivered, forming hard Scale Armor, and secreted green Poison Liquid that flowed down the gaps between the scales onto the Lizard’s weapon.

The Lizard brandished its broadsword fiercely, charging towards Yang Yu. He thrust forward with the Long Stick Sky Fall, directly plunging the towering Spiny Scale Lizard into the ocean, where the green Poison Liquid slowly spread over the sea surface.

The Spiny Scale Lizards didn’t retreat, continuously climbing onto Yang Yu’s deck, launching attacks at Yang Yu and his team.

”Be careful! Do not carelessly touch their Scale Armor, and avoid their weapons! Those are poisoned! If poisoned, use the items I gave you to extract the toxin from them and make an Antidote!” Yang Yu shouted loudly.

Evading these Lizard attacks on flat ground was fairly simple, but avoiding the growing attacks of Spiny Scale Lizards on such a narrow deck wasn’t something just anyone could accomplish.

Yang Yu was already contemplating whether to open the barrel and let the Slimes protect them from the poison.

But after thinking it through, he decided to temporarily reserve the Slime as a trump card.

Fortunately, He Meng and Helot were outside, they both could alleviate the current tension somewhat.
