Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The research facility experienced an anomaly, and the enchanting demon in charge immediately informed [Count Blood] Gula Bolai through the ring:

”...

That’s basically the situation.

Many cultivation devices have been affected, but overall, it’s not a big problem.

If things continue that way, and the magic power in the lab is swept away, it’s hard not to have some stillbirths.

Master, how should we deal with that cultivation device?”

Sitting on the throne, Gula Bolai was quite surprised.

”To have movement at this time, they really know how to pick their moments.

I originally planned to see what’s in that device, which is why I kept it.

No matter the amount of magic power, I want to open that device.

However, we have some ’guests’ to entertain now, so it’ll be slightly delayed.”

Gula Bolai looked up, and in the surveillance magic array, a warship was riding the waves, speeding toward his direction.

The research facility’s enchanting demon respectfully said, ”I understand. I’ll temporarily seal it with a special magic technique now. If there are any special circumstances, I’ll inform you immediately.”

The call ended, and Gula Bolai once again focused his gaze on the warship cutting through the waves.

On the warship, Yang Yu stood at the bow, looking up at the sky.

[Count Blood] must be watching them advance, and their movements are still under [Count Blood]’s control.

After what happened, nine out of ten [Count Blood] will not let them safely land on the island.

Yang Yu chose to head directly to the enemy’s stronghold, without any zigzagging, opting for the shortest route and direct confrontation.

Following Yang Yu’s request, Luo Luosi pushed the warship to its maximum speed.

After one or two hours of rapid sailing, slightly towering islands came into view, which were the island clusters occupied by the Hapi Clan.

Before the warship could approach the islands, thick fog rolled in from the other end of the sea, engulfing the islands where the Hapi Clan resided.

”This sea fog is unusual, it might be deliberate.”

With such dense fog, to avoid hitting reefs or crashing into something, they should’ve slowed down, but Luo Luosi had no intention of reducing speed.

Luo Luosi activated the warship’s defensive barrier, a pale blue spindle-shaped barrier wrapped around the warship from bow to stern.

At the same time, Luo Luosi released a large amount of magic power, concentrating it at the bow to expand her perception.

Although the information returned by these magic powers wasn’t sufficient for Luo Luosi to adjust the course quickly, it at least allowed her to know what they might collide with and assess any damage at the bow.

On the deck, everyone was ready to fight at any moment, as Qiuye silently gripped his beloved sword.

The fog spread in, and the warship cut through the waves, advancing bravely.

The path cleaved by the warship through the thick fog quickly got engulfed again.

This fog looked similar to any other fog, but caution was necessary, as it was unclear whether the fog contained poison.

The defensive barrier could block the dense fog, so Yang Yu and the others temporarily didn’t need to worry about exposure to the fog.

Lotcar turned his ears to capture surrounding sounds.

With the view obstructed by white fog and Iyas unable to scout the surroundings due to it, Lotcar’s hearing became Yang Yu and his team’s primary reconnaissance method.

The sound of waves breaking was continuous, and within it, Lotcar faintly heard something.

No, this sound came from ahead, it was the flapping of wings!

”Something’s coming!”

As Lotcar’s voice dropped, large chunks of rocks rained down from the sky, smashing onto the warship’s barrier, creating whirling vortices in the fog outside the barrier.

”Boom boom,” the warship’s defensive barrier rippled with blue waves, continuously depleting the barrier’s magic power.

”There’s no magic fluctuation. Are the rocks being dropped by Hapis carrying them from above? It’s crazy! Have they completely taken control of the Hapi Clan?”

Luo Luosi gritted her teeth. Although Hapis detest intrusions into their territory, they usually don’t immediately attack intruders but rather emit cries as warnings.

Hence, the old nautical saying, ”Turn back immediately upon hearing the Hapi’s song.”

Judging by the number of rocks, there was likely no small number of Hapis throwing stones, possibly mobilizing the entire island.

Each rock’s impact wasn’t huge, but the stone barrage was relentless.

According to Bai Jin’s provided location, they still needed several dozen minutes to reach [Count Blood]’s stronghold.

If they were subjected to the rock bombardment throughout this time, the continuous depletion of magic power for the defensive barrier...

The defensive barrier wouldn’t sustain them all the way to [Count Blood]’s island.

Unable to think of a good solution, Luo Luosi turned around to ask Yang Yu if he had any ideas, but discovered Yang Yu and Bai Jin were nowhere to be seen.

Just as Luo Luosi wondered where Yang Yu had gone, she saw Yang Yu climbing up from the ship’s edge.

”What did you do? I have something to report to you.” Luo Luosi clasped a straw between her middle and index fingers.

”I put some things down that will help us out of this predicament.” Yang Yu said, handing some scroll-like items to Luo Luosi, ”If you can’t resolve it, use these things to deal with the Hapis in the sky. Infusing magic into the shell should be really simple for you, right?”

Luo Luosi opened the scrolls given by Yang Yu to find they were explosive scrolls,

”Did you have Bai Jin prepare these?”

”This is merely storing her unused daily magic power; the scrolls come in more than just this category.”

Yang Yu smiled, lifting a loudspeaker to shout to others on the ship:

”Gentlemen! Hold on tight! We’re going to speed up now!”

”What?”

Luo Luosi, still puzzled about what idea Yang Yu had come up with, watched as Bai Jin approached the engine inside the cabin, placing the magic wand against the nearby wall of the ship’s engine, penetrating magic through the wall to trigger the magic scrolls Yang Yu had placed.

Green magic arrays formed at the stern, creating four jets, each spewing intense wind magic.

With splashes of water, the ship that was already traveling at high speed shot forward like a rocket.

Affected by inertia, almost everyone onboard was thrown off balance.

Luckily, with Yang Yu’s timely notice, they clung tightly to the nearest objects, staying safe and sound.

At the helm, Luo Luosi almost lost grip of the ship’s wheel, stabilized only by a push from Yang Yu from behind, securing her hold.

Luo Luosi turned back, expressing her anger:

”This is pure madness! Aren’t you afraid the ship will fall apart?”

Yang Yu pointed at Helot wrapped around his feet and smiled:

”Don’t worry, I consulted with him. Although the Slime Kingdom has no ships or sea, their shipbuilding theoretical knowledge is top-notch.”
