Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Before leaving the Slime Kingdom, Yang Yu had already become very familiar with Helot.

The Slime King did not want to tell Yang Yu exactly what knowledge they had gained from those crystals, but Helot was quite the opposite, constantly checking the knowledge Yang Yu knew.

Helot was a renowned human anthropology scholar in the Slime Kingdom.

Because the Royal Slimes generally had the ability to remember everything at a glance, Helot knew almost all the human knowledge possessed by the Slimes.

The direction of knowledge he focused on was various means of transportation.

Helot firmly believed that only by creating tools that could move quickly would the Slimes overcome their slow movement disadvantage.

Having efficient transportation means was also a prerequisite for Slime civilization to step onto the next stage.

Unfortunately, even though Helot was full of knowledge, he had no place to apply it.

Following the progress of human history, Slimes needed steam engines to enter the industrial revolution.

However, water in the Slime Kingdom was extremely precious, mostly used for irrigating clover, and gave no opportunity for him to boil water.

Yang Yu couldn’t help but sigh, Slimes were truly honest, knowing a lot of knowledge transcending the times yet proceeding step by step along the path humans walked in the past.

Were they afraid that past knowledge had omissions, which would lead to being unable to solve similar problems in the future?

From this point of view, Slimes were indeed cautious.

In short, after knowing Helot was an expert in vehicles, Yang Yu discussed accelerating the warship with him.

Helot did not disappoint Yang Yu, offering several sets of solutions.

Yang Yu selected a solution that could be implemented and replaced using magic.

This is the solution they are currently using - installing thrusters.

Realizing that Count Blood would stop them from landing on the island, they naturally needed something ”interesting” to drive straight in.

As the saying goes, the world’s martial arts are invincible under speed; with the support of four jet tubes, the warship’s speed was half faster than its maximum speed, and the stones thrown by the Hapi Clan all ate the warship’s exhaust.

Upon hearing distant commands, the Hapi dove down, intending to drop stones nearby.

But whenever they got too close, they would be affected by the air currents around the warship, pushed sideways, and unable to get close to the speeding warship.

Helpless, the front Hapi could only drop stones by feel, attempting to hit the warship with falling stones.

Naturally, the hit rate was touching, only a few stones hitting Yang Yu’s warship.

Luo Luosi refocused on controlling the warship, her magic power spread from the front of the warship to its body; seeing nothing unusual with the warship, she breathed a sigh of relief, glancing at Yang Yu:

”At this speed, we’ll arrive much faster on the other side. If we hit something ahead, the ship might be destroyed and people could perish.”

”Don’t underestimate this warship’s quality. I don’t think they have the skill to set traps; they want to destroy our warship just to prevent us from escaping. If we do hit anything, I have a way to escape,” Yang Yu said confidently.

”It’s on you then, I won’t be wary when steering.”

Since Yang Yu said so, Luo Luosi recklessly withdrew all her magic, stably holding the helm, steering it straight ahead.

The warship sped on, the mist around showed no sign of dispersing, Yang Yu glanced at the time.

In the past, by this time, the first sunlight of the morning had spread across the sea, yet now it was all an unclear white fog.

Perhaps, this was one of Count Blood’s strategies against the crusade.

Dense fog blocks sunlight; as long as they’re not under the sun, vampires should maintain their original abilities.

Who knows, besides this method, if Count Blood has other ways to maintain battle strength.

Everything will be known only upon meeting Count Blood.

Through the vast fog, their warship indeed crashed into something.

With a loud bang, their warship shattered the barrier protecting Count Blood’s stronghold, colorful fragments flipped, transforming into dots of magic power that scattered away.

The huge sound echoed across the sea, loudly announcing that Yang Yu and the rest had arrived.

The mist inside the barrier decreased abruptly, allowing them to finally see the distant scene clearly, and no stones fell from above.

The Hapi Clan didn’t follow all the way.

After sailing for a while longer, an island with a towering castle finally appeared before them.

The moment had finally arrived.

Perhaps due to being surrounded by layers of fog, though bright within the barrier, not a ray of sunlight could be seen.

Behind the warship, the four jet tubes gradually disappeared, the magic scrolls that exhausted magic power gradually lost their glow, turning into white paper, wetted by spray from the falling ship, as the warship returned to normal speed.

The barrier was broken, the ship’s bow damaged but not seriously, not affecting navigation.

Seeing the island getting closer and closer, Yang Yu stood on the deck and started a motivational rally; actually, there wasn’t much to say, everyone was familiar, so Yang Yu skipped some pleasantries and went straight to the point.

The tactical arrangement this time was quite simple: after reaching the island, using the strength of the Slimes to sweep away any obstructing enemies.

Of course, the enemies wouldn’t simply sit and wait; they would come up with various methods in response.

Everyone here had rich combat experience; Yang Yu believed they could fully utilize their initiative.

After the rally, Iyas climbed the mast to scout around, Yang Yu and Lang Yi each unsealed the corks of barrels containing Slimes, while Bai Jin silently prepared magic.

Bai Jin’s first magic here was Weather Magic; Yang Yu said the strategy day was set, but he had no way to confirm the weather that day, if it wasn’t sunny, Bai Jin would use magic to turn the weather into sunny.

Even though there’s barrier protection here, because the warship forcibly broke through the barrier, the barrier’s stability was affected to some extent, worth a try.

Everyone prepared in their own way; as soon as enemies appeared, they would act immediately.

But unexpectedly, until the warship reached the shore, they didn’t see a single person.

Even upon reaching the coast, landing on the island, besides the sound of waves hitting the shore, they heard nothing, eerily silent, like no one was around, giving an illusion that Count Blood had emptied the place.

Yet Count Blood hadn’t fled.

From the coastal forest flew a bat, transforming into the shape of Count Blood, he walked towards Yang Yu with steady steps, slowly speaking:

”Welcome back here. Please forgive my subordinate’s rudeness last night.”
