Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Lotcar told Yang Yu about what happened on his way to the Captain’s cabin. Yang Yu sat on the stairs, listening with a calm demeanor, showing no change in emotion.

Dissatisfaction, of course, was present.

Although there was no concrete evidence, it seemed that this Captain, growing a curly carp mustache, indeed had intentions of sacrificing them.

Yang Yu could imagine what a massive amount of capital and manpower it would take to build such a gigantic and complete submarine, and he could also imagine the thought process of some people who think ”better them than us,” speculating on their mindset.

They probably think, if passengers or the Guardian Team die, they just die.

In this world, death and injury are everywhere. The death of passengers and the Guardian Team is all the dastardly deeds of evil criminals. Unable to stop the criminals is because the criminals are too cunning. It has nothing to do with them. They’ve already done their security work, protecting the vast majority of passengers. What more could be asked?

As for compensation issues...

In this relatively closed-off era, if the families can’t be contacted, or if there are no families, naturally, there’s no follow-up. For those with families, and who come from far away to appeal multiple times, at most, out of humanitarianism, some compensation is given.

That little money is trivial compared to the cost of building a submarine.

The situation inside the submarine, only they know, and the dead cannot speak. They can say whatever they like.

Looking at the Gray at Lotcar’s waist, Yang Yu pondered for a long time.

Suddenly, Gray impatiently yelled at Yang Yu, ”I did say, my judgment was correct.

Why did you abduct me? Can’t we talk normally?

I must quickly return to organize the staff for inspection. After the inspection, the security mode is turned off, and the journey can continue.

It’s not good to delay most people’s time because of the attack.

I’m the Captain, without me, no one can drive this submarine, quickly let me down.

You are passengers, just sit here obediently.

Leave the rest to us.”

Maybe seeing Yang Yu squinting his eyes, showing a strange smile, Gray lost some confidence as he spoke. He couldn’t figure out what Yang Yu was thinking.

Yang Yu signaled Lotcar to put Gray down, then patted Gray’s shoulder with his right hand:

”You are the Captain, the highest-ranking person on this submarine. Naturally, I can’t do much, rest assured, we won’t do anything either.”

Just as Gray thought this guy was being sensible, Yang Yu squeezed his shoulder, a shiver of cold erupted behind Gray, gradually spreading throughout his body, causing him to shudder.

”You, you, what do you want to do?”

”Don’t be nervous.” Yang Yu smiled, ”We are an S-Class adventure group. Encountering such an emergency, us stepping in to help protect the safety of this submarine, would normally cost a fee.

However, us acting on our own initiative also has its faults, so let’s consider it balanced out.”

Of course, if you insist on rewarding me, I won’t refuse.

But... compared to me, look at these employees who worked hard for you. They were fighting for their lives just now; they need your help more.”

Gray opened his eyes wide, with a hint of disdain, and pouted, ”That’s our company’s internal affairs, no need for you to concern yourself.

We have already given them quite generous compensation.

They need to take on corresponding risks to match the salary we give them. Besides, we don’t need them many times a year; most of the time, they’re idle, doing other work.”

”I understand. As the saying goes, soldiers are raised for a thousand days to be used for a single morning. As employees of your company, you should have a responsibility and obligation to protect their rights, correct?”

”Why do you ask this?”

”I just suddenly got interested in your company’s work, thinking about whether I should work for your company after this adventure and enjoy sitting in the observation area, admiring the scenery during the journey.”

Gray thought Yang Yu was tricking him, but he had no proof of Yang Yu deceiving him.

Intuition told Gray that Yang Yu was no good, and as they spoke, he might fall into a trap set by Yang Yu, so Gray wanted to quickly end the topic.

”Recruitment is not under my management. Are you done talking? If so, I need to get back to work!”

Yang Yu blocked Gray with one hand, smiling brightly, ”Although it’s not under your management, as the Captain, you should be familiar with the various rules of the company.

There’s no harm in telling me.

I’ll get straight to the point. If the Guardian Team gets injured on the job, surely, you are responsible for healing them, right?”

Yang Yu suddenly raised his voice, the nearby Guardian Team members all looked at Yang Yu and Gray.

Sensing the piercing gazes being cast on him, Gray mumbled ”real trouble” and casually said, ”Of course. We’ve provided them with plenty of Potions, enough to heal their wounds.”

Yang Yu pressed further, ”As long as the injury occurred during work and there’s a possibility of complete recovery, your company will be responsible for healing them, right?”

”Provided there’s a possibility of complete recovery. If the injuries are due to their rest schedules, we are not responsible.”

”That’s sufficient.

This crisis is very educational.

I think, after returning, we should use this experience as a safety example for promotion, right?

After all, making people who want to become your company’s employees aware of the risks is essential.

Everything that happened today is real. No one should exaggerate or downplay it for it to be genuinely educational.”

”This...”

”What, do you plan to distort the facts?”

The gaze of the Guardians sharply landed on Gray, who straightened his back and said, ”Of course not, our company acts with integrity.”

Yang Yu laughed, releasing Gray’s shoulder, and said to everyone present:

”You all heard him, right? If there’re any treatable after-effects from this battle, Captain Gray and the company will assist you, so don’t hesitate.

This event could also serve as a standard for educating young people, don’t miss out on such a good opportunity.”

Gray felt something was off with what Yang Yu had said, though he couldn’t quite figure out what it was, as if he had fallen into a pit that Yang Yu had dug.

Gray wasn’t wrong in feeling that way; Yang Yu indeed had set a trap for him.

Yang Yu knew better than anyone how difficult those toxins were to deal with. If the King of Wansheng Country could resolve the poison in his system at the time, he wouldn’t have had to lie bedridden for so long, leading to the worsening of the situation.

Currently, the only method Yang Yu knew to resolve these toxins was one.

People who qualified for the Submarine Guard Team had far superior abilities. The presence of toxins would significantly impede those abilities, and they would certainly seek solutions for detoxification.

Now that Gray had made such a promise, it’s only natural that they would rely on the company that recruited them and their Captain, Gray, to help resolve the issue.

The company’s aid to the Guardian would inevitably incur a substantial additional expense. Not providing assistance would lead to more trouble.

And who would be held accountable for this unforeseen expanse?

Yang Yu thought that the arrogant captain should be the first to bear the brunt.
