Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Old man. You lied to me.”

Lotcar’s sharp claws were hooked around the old man’s neck, emitting a cold voice.

Breaking away from the team and following the staff all the way, Lotcar quickly discovered that the staff member was leading him round and round, seemingly unwilling to take him to the Captain’s cabin.

Lotcar didn’t say much, he directly searched for the secret door himself.

Without using skills, each teammate’s strength would be significantly affected, and the Guardian Team outside was already struggling. If this dragged on, the situation would get worse.

As a special Beastman, Lotcar possessed a keen sense of smell, able to clearly distinguish various scents. Even with the overwhelming kitchen aromas, Lotcar still found the secret passage to the Captain’s cabin under a freezer.

On the way down, the staff member tried several times to stop Lotcar, but Lotcar glared at him menacingly.

Lives were at stake, the Captain not only made no efforts to change the status quo, but also shrunk in the Captain’s cabin, acting as if it was nothing to do with him.

Even the employees now colluded with the Captain, not wanting him to find the Captain.

Looking at the sturdy Lotcar, the staff member swallowed hard. Even with the bracelet, he definitely couldn’t beat Lotcar.

Hence, the staff member could only follow Lotcar into the secret passage.

There was another thick iron door in the secret passage, its thickness in no way inferior to other doors that sealed the Captain’s cabin.

To say the secret door on the restaurant side was relatively fragile wasn’t wrong either; this secret door was indeed slightly smaller than the others.

Once in emergency status, unless the Captain or Vice Captain agreed, these sealed doors were basically impossible to open.

Lotcar shouted several times outside the door, the Captain understandably refused Lotcar’s request to enter.

After issuing a final warning, Lotcar could no longer be bothered with idle talk, he activated the [Reverse Wheel] and punched open the Captain’s cabin door.

The crew in the Captain’s cabin was dumbfounded. This door would require an S-Class adventurer considerable effort to open, yet Lotcar punched it open in a few blows.

The crew, including the Vice Captain, stood stupidly, not moving, knowing well Lotcar was not to be trifled with.

Only Gray Robert, the Captain of this submarine, was unaffected by Lotcar, continuing to operate the controls.

After scanning the room, Lotcar quickly locked onto the Captain—the short Carp Man elder less than 1.3 meters tall—and explained the situation to him again.

Gray casually brushed off with a few words, and noticing someone had tampered with the control bracelet’s equipment, he said: ”I’ve already cut off the equipment’s magic supply, they can fight normally now.”

Seeing the Crystal Ball indeed displaying the footage of Yang Yu using skills to fight, Lotcar actually believed it.

In reality, it was all a lie.

Before the battle was fully resolved, the old man hastily activated the equipment, removing the bracelet’s limitations.

Lotcar was very angry, glowering, as if wishing to knock this old man down on the spot.

Gray, without any fear, stared back at Lotcar, speaking emphatically: ”It’s over, it’s all over.

When I say it’s over, it’s over.

Since it’s over, the equipment has to be opened.

If traitors sneak aboard the ship, trying to gain some benefit amidst the chaos, causing great loss to our company, that’s not something you can handle.

I’m just doing what a Captain should do.”

Lotcar couldn’t help but tighten his grip, saying: ”Do you know why I’m angry?

One, you didn’t honestly reveal the situation; two, your indifference to the fight in the observation area, as if their defeat didn’t matter...

You’d let them come while having measures to deal with them?

Absurd, do you think protecting this submarine is more important than the lives of passengers outside?”

Faced with Lotcar’s questioning, Gray remained silent. They indeed had a secret weapon to deal with intruders, but using that weapon required a certain cost and was indiscriminate between friend and foe, and couldn’t be activated unless absolutely necessary.

Regardless of whether the secret weapon was used or not, it wouldn’t affect the Captain’s cabin, so Gray remained calm when facing intruders.

In fact, only during non-dangerous invasions did the Captain appear in the restaurant, displaying an image of ”I’m with you,” winning passenger favor and free publicity.

But when real crises emerged, most Captains would still stay in the safest Captain’s cabin.

Asked whether the ship or lives were more important, Gray thought, of course, his own life and the company’s interests were more important. Ordinary people could hardly fathom the amount of blood and time needed to cultivate such a money tree.

But none of this could be casually spoken of, customer is king after all, customer is king, saying it out loud would hinder business.

A sense of suffocation came over him, Gray coughed a few times, speaking with difficulty but firmly:

”Do you intend...to kill me?

I am the Captain of this ship. Without me, who knows how long this ship can sail, and you won’t reach the desired destination.

To train a Captain like me requires considerable time and money. I’ve sailed this route for over fifty years, there’s no Captain more experienced than I.

If I die, you’d certainly lose everything.”

Lotcar really wanted to increase the strength in his hand, but eventually loosened his grip. This annoying old man did indeed have some use, and he absolutely couldn’t be impulsive like he was before.

After a brief thought, Lotcar picked up Gray, walked out of the Captain’s cabin, deciding to hear Yang Yu’s opinion before dealing with him.

Meanwhile, as Lotcar headed to the restaurant, the submarine’s Guardian Team cleaned up the battlefield, as Yang Yu instructed, leaving a few survivors.

But...

The Guard Captain looked at several comrades injured by Fishmen and Spiny Scale Lizards, feeling deeply sorry for them. The toxins in their bodies were peculiar, ordinary Detoxification Potions couldn’t neutralize them.

The side effects of [Breaking Cauldrons and Sinking Boats] gradually faded, Yang Yu sat on the stairs leading to the restaurant, flipping through the Task panel.

Despite the urgency of the situation, he hadn’t received any emergency tasks.

Perhaps, the submarine had contingencies in place, as long as those contingencies were there, the Captain assumed no outside intervention was needed, so Yang Yu naturally received no tasks.

Luo Luosi sat not far from Yang Yu, controlling his Shell to fly back to his side.

To prevent troublesome toxins from attaching to the Shell, Yang Yu closed the panel and asked Bai Jin, with her Water Magic, mixed with Antidotes, to wash it several times.

”You just now...”

Luo Luosi originally wanted to say something, but stopped mid-sentence, biting down on the straw.

Yang Yu didn’t pursue the matter further and was already thinking about how to extract information from the surviving Spiny Scale Lizard.

Just then, He Meng bounced back to Yang Yu’s side, boasting of his achievements, seeking a reward. Yang Yu gave He Meng a cup of Clover Juice.

He Meng looked discontentedly at Yang Yu, as if saying ”Without my wise judgment, how could you have won?”

Helplessly, Yang Yu placed a heap of Clovers on top of He Meng’s cup, which made He Meng beam with happiness and feast eagerly.

After waiting on the stairs for a while, Lotcar finally came, dragging Gray along, arriving late.
