Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Being praised, the Shell Clan man showed no joy; instead, he was full of rage, wishing he could dismember the lizard people in front of him.

Originally, they lived a peaceful life, undisturbed by the outside world.

Suddenly, these lizard people, without any warning, invaded their territory with their troops.

The Shell Clan’s combat power was not weak. They had a strong exoskeleton that could withstand most damage, and their hands could transform into huge claws that would make anyone caught in them suffer immensely and beg for mercy.

Faced with the sudden invasion, the first reaction of the Shell Clan was to take up arms and defend their home.

However, their proud exoskeleton and claws were rendered useless against the attacking Spiny Scale Lizards.

The weapons of the Spiny Scale Lizards easily pierced their exoskeletons and shattered their claws.

The defensive line that the Shell Clan had spent so much time constructing collapsed instantly under the fierce assault of the Spiny Scale Lizards.

After the village chief was killed, the surviving Shell Clan members surrendered one by one to the Spiny Scale Lizards.

But the Spiny Scale Lizards did not show mercy due to the Shell Clan’s surrender; instead, they mercilessly killed all the Shell Clan members who could pose a threat to them, leaving only the weak, old, and sick.

Even more excessively, the Spiny Scale Lizards forced the remaining weak, old, and sick to set fire to their homes, which they had built with red mangrove trunks over hundreds of years.

To survive, the village chief’s youngest son, the only bloodline of the Shell Clan chief, took the lead in igniting his former home, praying that the Spiny Scale Lizards would spare them.

Unexpectedly, when all the buildings were ablaze, the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard actually demanded they use the flames from their burning houses to roast fish for the weary soldiers.

Resistance might only lead to death, so the village chief’s youngest son, in accordance with the Spiny Scale Lizards’ demands, led the remaining clan members to roast fish using the flames from their burning homes.

They thought enduring the humiliation might win them a chance for survival, yet it only brought repeated insults. Hearing the words ”so delicious,” the village chief’s youngest son finally snapped.

Now, his enemy stood unsuspectingly with his back to him; he only needed to run up, jump, and grip his neck to suffocate him and avenge his fallen clansmen.

Unable to endure any longer, there was no need to endure further.

The youngest son of the village chief transformed one arm into a massive claw and charged at the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard, using all his strength to leap into the air.

The One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard carelessly caught the youth’s claw with his neck.

”Snap,” the youth’s claw shattered in two; he let out a muffled humph and crashed heavily to the ground, clutching his reverted hand, curling up in agony.

Several Spiny Scale Lizards seized the opportunity, swiftly rushing forward, grabbing the youth, and pinning him firmly to the cold sand.

The attacked One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard didn’t even glance at the youth, continuing to walk forward.

His all-out strike hadn’t harmed the enemy in the slightest, deeply wounding the youth’s spirit, prompting him to scream hoarsely:

”What did we do wrong? Why do this to us?

We’ve always lived peacefully; I don’t recall having any grievances with you.

Why, why, why launch an attack on us, why commit such inhumane acts against us?

What exactly did we do wrong?”

Hearing the youth’s wails, the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard finally stopped and turned to face him, slowly crouching down,

”You want to know what mistake you’ve made?”

The One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard’s vertical pupils exerted an unspeakable pressure, suffocating the youth, yet he didn’t yield, fiercely glaring back.

”You’ve got quite the look in your eyes; alright, I’ll tell you what mistake you’ve made!”

The One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard stood up again, pointing at the ground beneath them, roaring,

”I’ll tell you now, the land you’ve been living on beneath your feet once belonged to us.

We are merely reclaiming our land; this is a revenge from hundreds, thousands of years ago.

Back then, it was your ancestors who drove out our ancestors in this way.

Our exiled ancestors went hungry, cold, and countless of our people traveled in search of livelihood, eventually dying of starvation.

How can you say you did nothing wrong?

If your ancestors hadn’t taken away our ancestral homeland, would we have suffered such hardships?

We will never forget this hatred, this pain.

Today, we’ve finally reclaimed our homeland.

We are making every race that partook in our ancestors’ hardships taste the bitterness of starvation and exposure.

Perhaps you did nothing wrong… but your ancestors did, committing those inhumane acts against ours, and you live guilt-free enjoying it all.”

After hearing the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard’s accusation, the Shell Clan youth lowered his gaze, at a loss for words.

The One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard ordered his subordinates to release the youth, saying: ”Your fish is quite delicious.

Don’t worry, I won’t kill you.

Your suffering has only just begun.

Take your people and get out of our territory.

Go wherever you want.

You have half an hour; if anyone is still within our territory by then, don’t blame me for being ruthless.

If you’re dissatisfied, you’re welcome to attack us at any time.

Everything you’re experiencing is the suffering, the struggles our ancestors once faced.

Now leave!”

The youth gritted his teeth, struggled to get up from the ground, and with no ability to resist, he could only hold his bleeding hand, crying as he ran to his remaining clan members.

Under the watchful eye of the Spiny Scale Lizard troops, the Shell Clan slowly stepped into the cold sea, leaving behind the land that once belonged to them.

The One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard watched the departing Shell Clan as if seeing his desolate ancestors.

Their ancestors were once powerful too, but were expelled from their homeland by a joint force of scoundrels.

They sought revenge against every race involved in that expulsion, until they reclaimed everything that was theirs.

As the flames gradually died down, the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard began organizing manpower to establish a stronghold on the island.

Not long after, a Spiny Scale Lizard looking like an orderly ran up to the One-eyed Dragon Spiny Lizard, reporting:

”Chong Du officer, Beng Lie Leader has sent a message; there’s a new task for you.”

”Speak, what’s going on with big brother’s side?” Chong Du said flatly.

The orderly replied: ”There’s an important warm current around this island; in about a day, a submarine may arrive here.

The lord who granted us strength seems interested in that thing, so the leader hopes we can bring one back.

Of course, before sending it over, we can claim everything on that submarine as spoils of war.

There are probably lots of land animal meat on board, it must be delicious.”
