The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1647: Chapter 1647: What If the Other Party Has Ulterior Motives?

”I was just making a guess, you can also take it as me joking, there’s no need to be so angry...”

Before Shania Yancey finished, she suddenly said, ”I heard Amadeus has recently started seeing a new girlfriend? And this new girlfriend of his is from McKinney, the girl from the Zachmann Family’s Room One lineage who went missing?”

As soon as Candice Yancey heard her mention Nathalie Quinlan, she couldn’t help but frown even tighter, glaring at her sharply: ”What exactly do you want to say, just say it directly, stop beating around the bush here!”

Shania Yancey is different from Fredy Yancey; she generally has a normal relationship with the direct-line descent.

She thinks that even though she’s a cousin, she’s also an elder, and Mr. Yancey shouldn’t have bypassed her generation directly to hand the future of the Yancey Family to a younger person.

That’s why Shania Yancey targets her nephew everywhere, always blaming things on Amadeus.

This time is no exception.

When Candice Yancey questioned her, she casually fiddled with her nails, lifted her eyelids, and said with a half-smile: ”The people that Yancey Family has in Inderia are all old folks from before, only this Ian Edbert was recommended by him to join. Now our goods were robbed suddenly, and coincidentally, this Ian Edbert has disappeared. Isn’t it reasonable for me to suspect something?”

”You...” Candice Yancey’s eyelids twitched.

Shania Yancey, not giving her a chance to speak, continued indifferently: ”I don’t oppose young people falling in love, but they should still handle their responsibilities while doing so! It’s fine for him to like that girl, but our family isn’t just some place for anyone to be a part of. We should at least investigate the background of the other party, see if they’re clean.”

”After all, the lifeline of the Yancey Family is in his hands alone, and The Ninth Institute is managed by him. This time, the goods in Inderia were robbed...”

She hadn’t finished her sentence.

An icy voice, cold as frost with a hint of ominousness, came through.

”This time the goods in Inderia were robbed, and then what?”

Shania Yancey’s face changed, immediately holding her tongue, not daring to continue.

She saw a young man in black walk in from outside the traditional courtyard, the string of Buddhist beads on his wrist was particularly striking, but it couldn’t compare to the repressed air that the man carried.

Amadeus Yancey!

Shania Yancey’s heart pounded hard, not quite sure when he arrived and how much he had overheard.

Though she’s generally not close with this nephew, she doesn’t dare to directly clash with him.

After all, compared to Candice and Giordano Yancey, Amadeus isn’t a soft-hearted character; if he wants to act against her, he might just do it.

Alfred Garland followed by his side. As soon as Alfred entered, he greeted Mr. Yancey, Candice, and Fredy Yancey, but when it came to Shania Yancey, it was as if he overlooked her, directly skipping over.

Shania Yancey was so furious her mouth was crooked, yet she didn’t dare be impudent in front of Amadeus.

After Amadeus walked in, he lifted his eyelids, his black eyes glanced at her indifferently, and lazily said: ”My aunt just said something about my girlfriend?”

Shania Yancey’s aura instantly diminished, hesitatingly and unable to hide her embarrassment, she awkwardly said: ”I didn’t say anything, just heard you were seeing a girlfriend and was telling your aunt it would be best to investigate the other party’s identity and background. With the kind of people outside nowadays, our family should be a bit careful...what if they’re after our background with ulterior motives...”

Hearing her words, Alfred Garland almost couldn’t hold back his laughter.
