The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1646: Chapter 1646: Our Goods in Inderia Were Robbed

In the ancient courtyard of the Yancey family’s quadrangle in Beijing, with lush green foliage, Giordano Yancey uncharacteristically did not tend to flowers or play with birds today. Instead, he sat on a rosewood chair in the main room. In front of him was a cup of tea, which he picked up several times but put down aimlessly without taking a sip.

Beside him sat a dignified middle-aged woman, slightly younger than Candice Yancey, but she was also not young, around forty years old.

She wore a sapphire dress, with a light scarf draped over her shoulder, and her temperament was quite outstanding.

Her facial features hinted at some resemblance to the Yancey Family.

The butler also brewed her a cup of tea, using a set of porcelain cups with golden floral patterns. It was not the same clear tea as Giordano Yancey’s but a cup of richly colored Black Tea.

”Thank you.”

Shania Yancey politely thanked the butler, leisurely picking up the cup and taking a sip.

The Yancey family butler, observing quietly, retreated to the side, hands properly placed in front of him, without saying much.

Candice Yancey was also there. Unlike the other person, she wasn’t as leisurely. Even at this moment, she wasn’t in the mood for tea.

Her brows were covered with frost, trying hard to control her emotions, but anxiety was still evident in her eyes.

”Dad, have they not returned yet?”

Upon hearing Candice speak, Giordano looked outwards, his heart sinking, shaking his head: ”Wait a bit longer.”

Finally, someone hurriedly walked toward the main room.

For the fifth time, Giordano picked up his teacup, catching sight of the person entering out of the corner of his eye. He immediately put the cup down on the table and asked, ”How is it?”

The person entering was also around forty years old, neither particularly tall nor short, about 175 cm, not reaching 180. Compared to other Yancey family members, his features were rougher, with a square face revealing his upright nature.

Fredy Yancey showed great respect to Mr. Yancey despite being travel-worn and having not rested. Without complaint, he immediately reported, ”Our shipment in Inderia was hijacked. Additionally, Squad Leader Ian Edbert, who was responsible for delivering this shipment, vanished along with it. Our people in Inderia still haven’t figured out the situation. They’re trying to investigate, and they’ll notify us once they have news.”

Giordano stood up, anxiously pacing back and forth, hands behind his back, then stopped, unconsciously looking at him: ”That shipment... was hijacked?”

”Yes.”

Fredy was not from the direct line of the Yancey Family but was from a very closely related branch, considered a Yancey first cousin.

He gulped down a glass of water, his expression naturally serious, emphasizing to Giordano once more, ”The current situation is that the person responsible for transporting this shipment is also missing. We can’t immediately figure out who tampered with our shipment.”

The forces in Inderia are intricately intertwined, more complicated than those in Beijing.

Without knowing who did it, they had no way to recover the shipment and couldn’t understand the reasons behind it.

”I remember that Ian Edbert is one of Amadeus’ people?” Shania, like Fredy, was also a member of the Yancey family branch.

She suddenly spoke up, and everyone looked in her direction.

Shania calmly set down her teacup, smiling slightly, and said in a seemingly joking manner, ”Isn’t it obvious? Perhaps someone is acting as an insider, stealing the shipment themselves, and then staging a disappearance... problem solved.”

Candice frowned, her face turning cold as she questioned her, ”Shania, what do you mean by that?”
