The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1606: Chapter 1606: Nathalie: I’m Heading Out

Alfred made two cups of coffee, placing one in front of Nathalie and another in front of Sadam. Seeing that Sadam wasn’t at his seat, he curiously asked, ”Ms. Quinlan, where’s Mr. Vinson? Why did he disappear? Did he go back?”

”No.” Nathalie was indifferent towards coffee; she could drink it but didn’t particularly like it. She didn’t touch it and lazily replied, ”He went out to take a phone call. Seems like it was from his mom.”

”Mrs. Vinson, huh.” Alfred showed an indescribable expression.

Nathalie accidentally caught the expression on his face, raised an eyebrow, and showed some interest, ”Does his mom control him strictly?”

Sadam is as old as Amadeus Yancey.

Amadeus has long been free from anyone’s control, doing whatever he wants all day long. It seems even Mrs. Diana can’t control him.

Sadam... he seems quite afraid of his mother.

”Not really.” Alfred didn’t know how to explain it. The main reason was a bit damaging to one’s image, but upon reconsideration, it seemed Mr. Vinson didn’t really care about his image, so Alfred felt no burden, and smoothly said, ”Mr. Vinson loves playing games too much, and Mrs. Vinson thinks if he continues like this, he’ll become one of those online shut-ins, staying home all the time, only knowing how to play games. So Mrs. Vinson is quite strict with him in terms of gaming... It’s not that she doesn’t let him play; she’s just afraid he’ll only play games and won’t go out and meet people.”

Alfred didn’t continue.

Actually, there’s another reason.

Before, Amadeus and the others got along well, and the elders all felt that with Amadeus leading the way, Mr. Vinson and Mr. Bonette would surely find partners more easily.

Who knew that the one who was thought to be hard to find a partner would be the first to find one.

The remaining two stood out starkly.

Mr. Yancey and the young lady especially loved showing off their granddaughter-in-law (or niece-in-law) around their circle, and thus, Sadam and the others were left in a sad plight.

”Oh.” Nathalie originally thought it was some bizarre reason, but it turned out to be just the fear of Sadam becoming a shut-in. She nodded, with a look of ’I understand’.

Alfred glanced at her, wanting to say: Ms. Quinlan, you don’t understand!

But he stopped himself, feeling too embarrassed to make things clear.

Just then, Sadam returned, angrily grabbing the jacket draped over his chair, and said to Nathalie, ”Nathalie, I have to head back, not playing today. Let’s plan another day for a five-stack game.”

”Okay.” Nathalie, having just listened to Alfred’s explanation of the reason, agreed readily, ”Alright.”

Sadam had finally found a pro player to carry him, but before he could enjoy a few rounds, his own mom called him back for a blind date. Filled with frustration, he complained, ”I don’t even know who the hell told my mom I was playing games. Tsk, when I find out who it is, I’m gonna break their leg for tattling.”

After saying this, he waved at the man on the sofa as a farewell, ”Amadeus, I’m off.”

Amadeus raised an eyebrow, his deep black eyes giving him a glance, acknowledging with a simple, ”Alright, let Alfred drive you.”

Alfred immediately went to fetch the car keys, ”Mr. Vinson, let me drive you.”

Sadam had driven over himself, so he declined the ride, waving his hand as he hurried off, ”No need, I have my own car. I’ll head out first.”

”Bye.”

Sadam felt quite reluctant, but with his mom urging, he had no choice but to go back and deal with the elders first.

After he left, Nathalie’s phone vibrated.

She picked up the phone, squinting at it.

It was a bank transfer notification.

The Quarles Family’s 700 million had already been deposited into her account.

Nathalie stood up, casually pressing a Duckbill Cap onto her head, picked up her phone, and said, ”I’m going out for a bit.”
