The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1623: Chapter 1623: Nathalie: I’m Experienced with This Job

Joseph Meer got Stephanie Tanzil to pull some strings for him this time, and after much persuasion, she finally helped him invite this big shot.

He was determined to do well in this episode about the Han Dynasty chimes’ cultural relics restoration and introduction, offering the audience a good presentation of the traditional skills and cultural relics handed down by the ancestors.

This type of educational variety show is usually unpopular among such programs, so he couldn’t invite many popular stars.

The most eye-catching guest this time was Nathalie Quinlan.

Joseph Meer didn’t even leak the news ahead of time, planning to unveil this surprise when the live broadcast started!

”I’ll give you the script, take a look first.”

Joseph Meer, feeling uneasy, reminded her again: ”Ms. Quinlan, don’t worry. Stephanie told me to take good care of you. Just do as I say, stand aside and don’t say much, there will be a guest to cover for you later.”

Nathalie Quinlan took the thick stack of script from him and casually flipped through it.

The script detailed the procedure.

For instance, the location of Camera One, and the position for Camera Two.

When guest A was supposed to say something.

How guest B should follow up guest A’s words to lead into the theme.

She skimmed through it, noticing the guest X marked with a red line in the script.

Among guests ABC, the script didn’t offer any specifics about guest X, basically instructing them to stand aside and smile slightly.

Guest X: Smiles knowingly at the camera.

Guest X: Laughs.

Guest X: Smiles gently.

Nathalie Quinlan’s pale hand flipped to the last page, satisfied to see that as guest X, she was smiling from start to finish in the script.

Upon hearing Joseph Meer’s reminder, she raised an eyebrow coolly, already knowing what’s what.

”An impromptu background performance?”

The girl’s voice was lazy, but she had a good temper and was easygoing. She put away the script, her eyes bold and attractive: ”I’m familiar with this business.”

On the other side.

In a makeup room not far from them, Felice Owen was getting her makeup done, her hair already completed.

Her chestnut curls cascaded over her shoulders.

Seeing the assistant come in from outside, she immediately raised her hand to let the makeup artist leave first, and picked up a tube of lipstick to touch up in the mirror.

While doing so, she glanced at the panting assistant and asked casually: ”So, did you find out anything?”

The assistant ran around quite a bit, approached several staff, offering bribes and cigarettes to build relationships, finally getting some information.

He didn’t even have time to drink water, quickly told Felice Owen: ”I found out. That girl is just a regular person! Not someone from the circle.”

Felice Owen paused while applying lipstick, doubting: ”Why would the director care so much about a regular person?”

”I asked about that too.” The assistant, really thirsty, grabbed a bottle of water, hurriedly drank a couple of sips, panting, and continued: ”That regular person is a student from Tsinghua University, top student, uh, basically a prodigy; could be a highlight crafted by the show crew.”

These days, variety shows often include one or two regular people among celebrity guests, under the guise of being relatable.

Felice Owen had been in the circle for a year, getting familiar with some of the inherent patterns.

She was well aware that current variety shows favored the celebrity + regular person format.

So hearing the assistant say Nathalie Quinlan was just a regular person, she relaxed her taut nerves, smugly put down the lipstick, and said to the assistant: ”Send me that regular person’s name, I’ll ask Ruth to investigate whether she truly has no background.”
