The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1626: Chapter 1626: Tsk, She Sure Seems Hostile Toward Her

There’s only five minutes left until the live broadcast of the variety show starts.

The staff on site are already notifying guests to hand in their phones one by one.

Because there’s filming involved, and microphones will pick up audio during the process, if any guest’s phone suddenly rings, it would be really awkward.

To avoid such awkward situations, the staff usually ask guests to hand over their phones in advance for unified storage. After the recording is done, they immediately return the phones to the guests.

The other two guests handed over their phones to the staff without hesitation.

When it was Felice Owen’s turn, she had already taken out her phone, but suddenly saw Nathalie Quinlan in the corner who hadn’t handed hers in yet.

She withdrew her half-extended hand with a cold face and said, ”Why hasn’t she handed over her phone?”

The staff was quite bewildered by her actions and followed the direction of her finger, only then noticing Nathalie hadn’t handed hers in yet.

He was helpless, having no courage to offend Felice Owen, so he went over and awkwardly spoke to the girl, ”Um, Ms. Quinlan... we need to collect all the phones; is it convenient for you?”

Nathalie had just heard Felice Owen call her out for not handing over her phone. She lifted her eyelids unhurriedly and very politely said, ”Hold on a sec, I’ll respond to a message and give it to you right away.”

”Alright.”

The staff stood by without rushing her.

Nathalie hung up the phone call from Amadeus Yancey, holding the phone in one hand, typed quickly, and sent a message back to him.

[QN: I’m recording a show and have to hand over my phone. I’ll call you back later.]

She sent the message in less than ten seconds, then turned off WhatsApp, powered off the phone, and handed it to the waiting staff member, ”I’ve finished, here you go.”

The staff immediately thanked her, ”Thank you for your cooperation.”

He took the phone from Nathalie and returned to Felice Owen.

This time, Felice Owen had nothing to say and handed over her phone readily.

Nathalie stood lazily and casually on the side, arms crossed, watching Felice Owen suddenly becoming cooperative, clicked her tongue, and with a roguish and devilish demeanor, withdrew her gaze.

Although she often can’t recognize unfamiliar faces, Nathalie was sure it was her first time meeting Felice Owen today.

She couldn’t figure out why Felice Owen was targeting her, but it was obvious that Felice harbored a strong hostility towards her.

It seemed Felice indeed didn’t like her.

As for why the other party disliked her... Nathalie didn’t know for now, nor did she care to find out.

After all, she’s only recording this one episode and then leaving.

Be it Felice Owen or anyone else, they’re just strangers she’ll only meet once.

She had no interest in getting to know a stranger.

”Lights, props, get ready.”

”Lights are in position.”

”Camera one is in position.”

”Camera three is in position.”

”...”

The remaining people also responded, and the atmosphere at the scene turned serious and focused.

Joseph Meer worriedly glanced at the girl standing in the most secluded spot among the guests. Seeing her standing there relaxed except for her seemingly casual demeanor, he felt a bit relieved.

Joseph Meer picked up the walkie-talkie in his hand and directed the scene, ”Everyone, take your positions. Guests, please prepare, we’re starting soon.”

Felice Owen’s assistant was the last to hand her water, took away her unfinished water, and ran off to the side.

The other makeup artists hurriedly left the filming site.
