The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1099: Chapter 1099: Chose the Same Song

Second, having a top-ranked celebrity like Audrick Zachmann attend a school’s opening ceremony is inherently low-key, even if the school in question happens to be Tsinghua University. Going there would only bring trouble without any benefits.

Why bother?

Just so trolls can find an excuse to attack him, saying Audrick Zachmann couldn’t get into Tsinghua University and is instead using the school’s opening ceremony to elevate himself?

Yet Caryn Zachmann insisted he go, and since Audrick didn’t refuse, his agent had no choice but to figure out the arrangements.

Because of this, they even ended up paying a penalty for breaching a contract with an offline event.

The financial loss wasn’t a big deal.

After all, Audrick is a top star whose money-making ability is exceptional—he can easily earn around a hundred million a year.

But then Caryn called again, saying she wanted to use the song by Lighten Chaser during the opening ceremony.

This...

He’s one of the few people who knows Lighten Chaser’s true identity.

That person also got into Tsinghua University this year and might very well attend the opening ceremony in person.

On top of that, the last time Lighten Chaser personally acknowledged Audrick publicly on Twitter, calling him her brother, Caryn’s collaboration with Audrick at the opening ceremony would surely cause misunderstandings among netizens!

The agent hesitated momentarily and was about to politely refuse, but Caryn didn’t even give him the chance—she hung up on him straight away.

The phone buzzed with the busy tone. The agent looked at his phone and saw that the call had indeed been disconnected.

What kind of situation is this!

He put his phone away, pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, and walked toward the direction where Audrick was filming a commercial...

Meanwhile...

At Sea View Pavilion, Nathalie Quinlan had just finished her meal.

”Professor Sullivan, thanks for treating us to lunch today. We bought a group deal online—are you free to join us at a karaoke bar?”

Tiffany Olsen had just walked out of Sea View Pavilion. After discussing it with the people around her, she took the lead since she was thick-skinned and wasn’t afraid to make connections, and everyone agreed she should be the one to ask Winston Sullivan.

”Karaoke? I...” Winston was momentarily caught off guard and was about to decline when someone had already grabbed his arm.

”Come on, Professor Sullivan, let’s go.”

”Yeah, Mr. Sullivan, it’s not often you get the chance.”

Several freshmen chimed in to persuade him.

Winston found it hard to refuse, so he instinctively glanced at the last girl to walk out from the dining place. His lips moved slightly as he spoke: ”Nathalie Quinlan, everyone’s saying to go karaoke. Are you coming?”

The girl had just pulled out her earphone cord, the brim of her duckbill cap pressed low over her face, but her delicate facial features were still visible. Her expression was calm and carried a certain effortless chicness.

Without hesitation, Nathalie raised her head and nonchalantly replied, ”No.”

Oh, the star player isn’t coming... Tiffany Olsen felt a bit disappointed, though she didn’t want to force anyone. She couldn’t hide her slight letdown.

Nathalie noticed and faintly pressed her lips together before speaking softly, ”I have something to do this afternoon. A teacher requested me to visit Tsinghua University.”

”Oh, I see,” Winston nodded, not reading too much into it.

Nathalie only had two teachers—one was Shawn Norton, the other Mr. Avalon.

Mr. Avalon was abroad giving lectures and hadn’t returned yet. So the teacher Nathalie mentioned was likely Shawn Norton.

Winston nodded again and glanced towards the side of the street, hesitating, ”It’s hard to catch a cab outside. Let me give you a ride.”

Nathalie raised her hand, revealing a stretch of snow-white wrist, her brows and eyes bold and straightforward: ”No need, I just called a car on a ride-hailing app.”

She paused briefly before politely adding to Winston, ”Professor Sullivan, you guys can go have fun—don’t worry about me.”

She had made herself clear, so Winston gave her a nod and decided to wait with her until the car she had booked arrived.

A large group of people stood together by the side of the road for five or six minutes, watching as Nathalie’s car pulled up and she got in. Only then did they turn and head to the nearby karaoke bar they had reserved through a group deal.
