The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1088: Chapter 1088: Someone Knocks on the Door to Deliver Something

Speaking of this, she lifted her eyes again and said slowly, ”School starts in a few days. Mr. Sullivan called me earlier, saying there’s a department gathering tomorrow for this year’s new students to meet and have a meal.”

Amadeus Yancey had been busy with matters concerning The Ninth Institute and hadn’t been paying attention to the time. Only after hearing her mention it did he realize it was almost time for school to start.

He thought for a moment and asked, ”Are you going?”

Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t fond of socializing; she seldom attended gatherings like these, so Amadeus wasn’t sure if she’d go this time.

The girl on the other end of the video hummed, as though contemplating whether to attend. After a moment, she said, ”If nothing comes up, I’ll go.”

As they were speaking, the door to the private room was suddenly knocked on.

Sadam Vinson had been sitting nearby, listening to the two bigshots chat casually beside him. He couldn’t sit still any longer. Hearing the knocking, he immediately stood up and said, ”Ahem, I’ll get the door!”

Meanwhile, the auction downstairs reached its midpoint. The previously auctioned new-energy technology had been sold, and now being bid on was a small pill that had been out of stock on the black market for quite a while.

The price had already been driven up to eight figures.

Sadam walked over and opened the door.

He had thought the one knocking was a waiter from the auction venue. To his surprise, standing outside was a strikingly dressed woman.

The woman had a tall figure and stunning facial features. From her sculpted face, it was clear she was of mixed heritage. Her chestnut-colored curly hair cascaded down her shoulders, and the leather jacket she wore accentuated her enviable physique while revealing long, straight, beautiful legs.

She held a cigarette between her fingers, her lips painted a bold red. Her allure was both seductive and vibrant. Before Sadam could speak, she glanced him up and down and clicked her tongue, her husky voice breaking the silence: ”You’re Amadeus Yancey?”

Sun’s repeatedly assisted target.

A chicken of a man. Doesn’t look like much.

”...” Sadam had no idea he had already been labeled a ’weakling’ in the eyes of this woman. The stunning beauty before him momentarily overwhelmed his senses.

Looking for Amadeus?

He stepped aside to clear the path, about to invite her in.

But to his surprise, she didn’t intend to come inside. Leaning against the doorframe, she gestured with her mouth toward the box outside the door and said, ”Someone asked me to deliver this to you.”

”?”

Emma Gabehart scrutinized him again, finding his dumbfounded expression amusing. She chuckled, then deliberately extinguished the cigarette between her fingers right in front of him. With a cocky flair, she tossed him a pair of gloves and winked: ”Friendly reminder for you, kid. Be sure to wear these when you open the box, or you might end up in the hospital.”

As she left the box at the door and prepared to leave, Sadam finally snapped out of it and called out to her, ”Wait a moment.”

The woman’s steps paused slightly. Turning her head, her fox-like eyes locked onto him, giving him a faint, utterly tantalizing gaze.

Damn!

Sadam nearly lost himself again, but this time he managed to hold it together. Frowning, he asked, ”You just said someone asked you to deliver this. Who?”

”Pfft.” The woman chuckled, casually tossing her hair as she shot him a sidelong glance. ”Just someone.”

”...” Isn’t that just nonsense?

”If you really need an answer, let’s say... the God of Fortune? The kind who gifts money.”

The woman, however, didn’t seem interested in continuing the conversation. Her hands tucked into her leather jacket pockets, her eyebrows arching with confidence. She gave him one last glance, then tossed him a playful air kiss: ”I’ve delivered the parcel. Handsome, see you around~”
