The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1064: Chapter 1064: Nathalie Knows Quite a Few People

Alfred Garland’s hand was always touching his phone, ever ready for Nathalie Quinlan to call him. Hearing the words, he raised his eyes: ”She went out.”

”Went out?” Sadam Vinson wasn’t so carefree now, straightening his body, similarly ill at ease to Alfred Garland: ”Where did she go? By herself? Who was looking for her just now? The voice I heard didn’t sound like Mr. Wafford and the others.”

”No...” Alfred Garland shook his head, his voice flat and straightforward: ”Ms. Quinlan is just outside in the corridor, she said she’ll be back soon.”

Amadeus Yancey was sitting at an angle that made it difficult to see, unlike the rest of them who didn’t notice the visitor, but he saw.

Charles Quarles.

Accompanying Charles Quarles was Evelyn Quarles.

He played with the edge of the teacup Alfred Garland had prepared for making tea, his slender knuckles tapping on the porcelain, making a crisp sound. His own eyelids were lowered, his eyelashes black and long, concealing his gaze, making it impossible for anyone to guess his thoughts.

Nathalie had said that she came for chip-related business with Jackson Wafford and the others, intending to pick someone up.

The person she was to meet was obvious.

He had been busy lately and hadn’t paid attention to the Zachmann Family’s movements. Stanley Zachmann had such a significant issue, and the Zachmann family tightly concealed it, with not a whisper of it in Beijing.

It was clear that the old head of the Zachmann Family did not wish for Nathalie to know, originally planning to sort it out by himself.

Since Audrick Zachmann left Nathalie’s academic celebration, he wasn’t heading to Hestinn to film a variety show but came alone to the Illegal Zone, hoping to resolve the matter.

Due to various reasons, he probably hadn’t managed to resolve it.

Nathalie found something amiss from somewhere, uncovered this matter, and then found Jackson Wafford, following him to the Illegal Zone.

And Stanley Zachmann’s incident just happened to involve the Cubicle Group.

There were rumors that the Red Alliance took an interest in the heiress of the Cubicle Group, intending to incorporate the Cubicle heiress into the organization, and Cubicle Group likely relied on the Red Alliance’s status in the IT domain to pressure the Arbitration Committee.

Once Nathalie arrived, the situation reversed polarity.

The Red Alliance definitely wouldn’t make a move for Cubicle Group any longer, and an old fox like Charles Quarles wouldn’t be content with that, certainly reaching out to 3306 through heavy connections.

He didn’t drink the tea, played with the teacup for a while, then set the cup on the table, resting his hands on his legs, revealing a section of robust and vigorous wrist beneath his sleeve. His skin was also fair, not as pale as Nathalie’s, but considered fair-skinned among ordinary people, paired with the Buddhist beads on his wrist, he appeared to have a somewhat ascetic air, but if anyone believed he was a devout Buddhist, they would be naive.

Amadeus Yancey curled the corner of his mouth, his smile wickedly sly.

He bent down again to pick up an orange from the table, twirling it in his palm, seemingly utterly bored.

It was a pipe dream for Charles Quarles to come looking for Nathalie to suppress the Tsinghua University research team; it looked like his wishful plotting was doomed to fail...

However, Cubicle Group.

He twirled the orange in his hand, his fingers pausing briefly, recalling how Candice Yancey had mentioned to him that Cubicle Group wanted to enter the Zenla market, contacting many to smooth over relationships.

Basically, Cubicle Group’s entry into the C Country market was all but a done deal.

But... as of today, the chances of their success were highly unlikely.

His future father-in-law wasn’t about to be overshadowed and bullied by some minor overseas power!

...

Sadam Vinson saw him sitting there playing with both the teacup and the fruit, seeming indifferent to Nathalie’s affairs, and it irked him. He queried Alfred Garland again: ”By the way, you still haven’t said who was knocking outside looking for Nathalie.”

”Nathalie is here for the first time, and she knows people here?”
