The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1070: Chapter 1070: Want to Outshine Nathalie at the Opening Ceremony

”I...” Caryn Zachmann was still immersed in the topic Adelle Wafford had just brought up about whether Nathalie Quinlan was good at computing. She looked up, saw the gentle demeanor of Adelle Wafford as she inquired, furrowed her brows, and was just about to find an excuse to decline.

Then she heard Adelle Wafford speaking to herself: ”At this year’s opening ceremony, the Chinese Medicine program will also have a performance. I asked the admissions office teachers, and this year their program only admitted about 20 students, among which only Nathalie Quinlan is Mr. Norton’s student.”

That is to say.

”If the Chinese Medicine program is to participate in this opening ceremony and have a performance, the only option is to seek Nathalie Quinlan.”

Everyone in Beijing’s upper circle knows that Caryn Zachmann originally wanted to be Mr. Shawn Norton’s student but was harshly rejected. Mr. Norton also announced his chosen student—a high school girl from McKinney—at his own birthday banquet!

This message caused quite a sensation in the circle at that time.

Only because most people respected her and Sadam Vinson’s group relationship, nobody dared to discuss it in front of her.

But it was obvious that there were plenty of people talking behind her back.

Caryn Zachmann felt a sting in her sore spot, her complexion turned worse, and the refusal that was on the tip of her tongue was silently swallowed again.

Adelle Wafford, however, didn’t notice her emotional shift and rubbed her temples, apparently having not slept well the whole night, wearing a weary face, she asked her, ”Our clinical program will definitely participate in this opening ceremony performance, you have a special talent in this area, and you are about to graduate. This is a good opportunity for a lasting memory. I intend for you to represent our program in this opening ceremony, what are your thoughts? We can discuss.”

”...” Caryn Zachmann was still considering.

Adelle Wafford looked at her again, pursed her lips, her mouth corners pulling downward, her face taking a rather sharp look, lacking the authoritative presence expected of a specialist.

She picked up a teacup nearby, unscrewed the lid, took a sip of tea, placed the cup back down, then patiently waited a bit longer, seeing that Caryn Zachmann still hadn’t made a statement, she continued.

”In the last medical competition, I originally wanted you to win a place, so that when you graduate, it would look good on your record. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned, and we didn’t achieve a good place, allowing the Chinese Medicine program to steal the spotlight.”

Caryn Zachmann lifted her head, her expression becoming somewhat awkward, pinching the hand hanging by her side, she unhappily called out to her: ”Professor.”

”I didn’t mean to blame you.”

Adelle Wafford, upon hearing this, did not make eye contact with her, and just lightly said: ”It’s just that our clinical program has been surpassing the Chinese Medicine program for many years, and last time we stumbled. My intention is that it would be best if we could make a comeback at the opening ceremony. You are an outstanding student of our department, and also a member of my laboratory. You have a special talent in this area, why waste it...”

The Chinese Medicine program admitted 20 people this year, while from the outside world’s perspective, this number might be scoffed at and looked upon with disdain.

But those inside Tsinghua University are well aware that in the past, the annual admissions figure for the Chinese Medicine program was always kept to a single digit.

Even if they could only admit a few students, by the time they reach their second year, those few students all apply to change their majors.

This shows how unpopular the Chinese Medicine program is!

This year, however, the typically unpopular Chinese Medicine program broke its pattern of single-digit admissions of the past few years, admitting over 20 students. To say that this had nothing to do with Nathalie Quinlan enrolling in the Chinese Medicine program is something Adelle Wafford refuses to believe!

Nathalie Quinlan’s scores this year in the college entrance examination were incredibly high!

750, the top full score.

Yet with such a score, she chose Tsinghua University’s unpopular major—Chinese Medicine, attracting many college entrance examination students to set their sights on this program.
