The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 847: Chapter 847: Really Crying This Time

Today was the day to check Gaokao results, and besides Mr. Jones and others checking Nathalie Quinlan’s results in the background, quite a few freshmen and sophomores were also secretly using their phones to check, all curious to see how high this year’s top score at No. 1 Middle School could go.

But to everyone’s surprise, the results were the same as Nancy Sullivan’s—0 points!

Nathalie Quinlan had definitely taken part in the Gaokao, and almost everyone at No. 1 Middle School had taken it for granted that someone would score over 700 points this year.

The actual results were so different from their expectations, it was like a chasm!

Someone saved a screenshot of the results from the backstage system and posted Nathalie Quinlan’s scores on the school’s forum.

The title was eye-catching.

[Nathalie Quinlan’s sister got her results—damn, you’ll never guess the score, hurry up if you want to see!]

...

The forum of No. 1 Middle School was followed by many freshmen and sophomores, and the news of Nathalie Quinlan scoring 0 points spread like wildfire throughout the school.

”Nathalie Quinlan’s sister scored 0 points, seriously? Could there be a mistake? Wasn’t she scoring full marks in the mock exams, how could she possibly score 0 in the Gaokao?”

”I heard the result that came out was 0 points, Language, Mathematics, and Foreign Language all added up with Science comprehensive, a string of 0s lined up, couldn’t be neater. After all, she was already set for Tsinghua University, maybe she didn’t take the Gaokao seriously. But 0 points... even guessing blindly on a multiple-choice question shouldn’t result in 0 points, right?”

”Who knows? The mock exam is still a private test by the school, there could be something fishy we don’t know about, otherwise, how could she have scored full marks in the first place, it’s not scientific.”

The freshmen and sophomores hadn’t yet gone on vacation, only the seniors had started their holidays after the Gaokao, and the school was abuzz discussing Nathalie Quinlan’s results.

Many people didn’t believe it at first and checked it themselves with the admission ticket number posted on the forum—0 was still 0.

No matter how many times they checked, it remained 0 points.

In the school library, while everyone else was checking their results at home, Kelly Giovanni ran to school instead, knowing she had messed up right after finishing the last subject.

She didn’t solve any of the last three big questions in the Science comprehensive, and just before handing in the paper, she filled in the formulas she had memorized in a rush, hoping to hit a few points by sheer luck, like a blind cat finding a dead rat.

After the Gaokao, while everyone else was busy checking their answers and estimating their scores to select universities, she went out to have a blast.

She only came back the day before yesterday.

And now she faced the results.

Everyone at home was waiting for her results to choose a university, but she didn’t have the courage to check with them and lied about having to run to school.

Kelly Giovanni entered her admission ticket number, and soon the screen refreshed.

The name field displayed her name, Kelly Giovanni.

Then came the scores.

Chinese 80, Mathematics 75, English 108, Science comprehensive 217, total score 480.

The moment she saw the results, her fingertips started trembling uncontrollably, her mind went blank as if struck by lightning, and tears began to fall involuntarily.

points, worse than she had imagined.

She knew that in her freshman and sophomore years, she had never scored below 550 points, and getting into a second-tier university, not to mention Tsinghua University or Southern University, wouldn’t have been a problem.

She would have never imagined that in just one year, as a senior, her performance could plummet like this.

With a Gaokao score of only 480 points, she might not even be able to afford university!

And just at this time, her phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, it was a phone call from her family. Without a doubt, they were anxious to ask about her results.
