The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 804: Chapter 804: Nathalie: Just a few mad dogs barking wildly

His voice wasn’t soft, and through the phone, Freddy Cagwin vaguely realized something was wrong when he heard the noisy chatter. Anxiously, he asked, ”Nathalie, what’s going on? Why do I hear people talking? Did something happen to you? Where are you, I’ll come find you right away.”

Nathalie Quinlan replied in a calm and deliberate tone, ”Ah, there’s a bit of a situation, a small matter, no need for you to come over, I can handle it myself.”

”What exactly happened? I heard someone threatening you.”

”Just a few mad dogs barking.” Nathalie Quinlan looked up, her gaze nonchalantly sweeping over the hooligans surrounding her. There was a certain wildness about her that was intimidating.

The hooligans encircling her had originally thought she was mute because she seemed unintimidated and had ignored them.

When they realized she was speaking normally on a phone call, they felt infuriated, as if they had been played.

”Damn it, Jack, she’s messing with us!” one of the underlings grumbled angrily.

”Nathalie, what mad dogs? I didn’t hear any dogs, just people talking. What’s really going on? If you don’t tell me, I’ll worry!”

She saw several men with steel pipes closing in on her.

Nathalie Quinlan glanced at him, her voice lowered, ”...I’ll call you back later.”

With that, she hung up the phone with an air of composure.

Facing the seven or eight hooligans, steel pipes in hand and glaring at her, she put her phone back in her bag and tossed her coat aside. She stretched out her wrist and with beautiful, black eyes that were seducing and fierce, she gestured with her fingers invitingly at the hooligans who were enraged beyond containment.

”Do you want trouble, then come. One by one or all at once?”

The hooligans looked at her in astonishment, especially the muscular leader, whose eyes flashed with anger and humiliation. Clutching a gleaming steel pipe, he charged forward, yelling, ”Damn, she’s too arrogant, take her down!”

In the priciest villa area of McKinney.

Ever since Wayne Baker’s incident had escalated, Audrick Zachmann had been holed up in the villa playing video games, his phone turned off, completely oblivious to the outside world.

He was just entering the final showdown in a game.

When he heard a noise outside the door, he excused himself from his teammates and turned to see a man dressed in a black trench coat, looking distinguished, entering from outside, followed closely by Alfred Garland.

”Amadeus, you’re back?” He tossed his phone aside, eyes lighting up as he stretched his neck to peer behind Alfred Garland.

He looked long and hard for someone else, but besides the Yancey Family driver, no other person entered.

His handsome face clearly stiffened for a moment, unable to contain his impatience, he immediately asked the man who was removing gloves, ”Amadeus, where’s Nathalie? Didn’t she come back with you?”

Alfred Garland wheeled a luggage cart in behind and hastily explained, ”Mr. Zachmann, Ms. Quinlan did come back with Amadeus, but after getting off the airplane, she said she needed to visit Uncle Cagwin at the hospital, so we returned here first.”

”Oh.” Audrick Zachmann’s eyes dimmed, as he sat back down disheartened and resumed his position on the sofa, with a tone of complaint, ”I thought Nathalie would come back with you, but it turned out to be just the two of you coming back first...”

Alfred Garland offered consolation through his laughter, ”Ms. Quinlan will come back after she’s done visiting Uncle Cagwin.”

Audrick Zachmann glanced at the man who had taken off his coat, now laying next to him. The man’s black cable-knit sweater lined his strong waist and fluid lines. Even the simple act of removing his coat seemed to exude an austere allure.
