The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 840: Chapter 840: Nathalie Quinlan on TV

The girl’s hat brim was pulled down so low that her face couldn’t be clearly seen, but still, from the straight figure in front of the lens, an unpleasant aura could be felt.

Nathalie Quinlan!

”Mom, I won’t be coming home this month, I’ll be going with my teacher to attend an awards ceremony in a few days, I am one of the invited guests. I’m letting you know in advance, please tell Dad too.”

Emilia Sullivan snapped back to reality, no longer watching the Tv, her attention returning to the phone call. ”Ghania, you’re not coming home again?”

Since the joint examination, Ghania had followed Ivy Wilmar back to Beijing, and she hadn’t returned even once since then.

After all, she was her own biological daughter, and Emilia had only her. To say she didn’t miss her would be a lie.

”Can’t you spare just one day... McKinney and Beijing aren’t far, it’s just a three-hour flight.”

She hadn’t finished speaking when Ghania cut her off impatiently, ”A three-hour flight but round trip is six hours, almost half a day. I still need to get to the airport, check in, go through security. By the time it all adds up, I’d spend the entire day on the plane, just to come home for a meal, and after eating, I’d have to rush off again. Mom, you know I’ve been busy composing.”

Hearing this, what more could Emilia Sullivan say, her voice growing weaker, ”...I know.”

She was rather unwilling, holding the phone, her knuckles turning white as she spoke softly, ”But your dad and I miss you a lot...”

It seemed Ghania was busy on the other end of the phone, the sound of pages turning could be heard. After a pause, she spoke, ”I know. I’ll find some time to come back after the event.”

Emilia Sullivan immediately grinned, unable to hide her smile, overwhelmed with joy, ”Alright. Let me know when you plan to come back and I’ll clean your room and put on fresh sheets and duvet for you.”

”...Mm.” Ghania was quite busy, she was busy writing music, Steven was pressing her more and more these days, and she hadn’t made any progress on her new composition. Despite talking to Emilia Sullivan for less than five minutes, she already frowned, her lips betraying her impatience, ”Mom, I have to go, I’m hanging up.”

”Ah, so soon?”

Emilia Sullivan didn’t want to hang up yet, coincidentally the Tv lens was still focusing on the girl being blocked and interviewed by reporters, who seemed extremely impatient being questioned, for a moment she raised her head showing a cold but exquisitely beautiful face beneath the brim of her hat, stunning the reporter so much he couldn’t recover for a long time.

Then came that arrogantly extreme reply.

Don’t ask, the answer is perfect!

Watching the reckless girl on the screen, Emilia Sullivan pursed her lips, thick disgust and hatred in her eyes, she whispered to Ghania, ”Nathalie is on Tv.”

Ghania was about to hang up, but paused at those words. ”What?”

”She went to take her college entrance exam, didn’t she? Today was the last test, she was the first to hand in her paper and got interviewed by reporters waiting outside.”

Emilia Sullivan held the phone in one hand and clenched the other into a fist by her side, disdainfully saying.

”They asked her how difficult she found the exam and how many points she thinks she scored. Guess what her answer was?”

”What did she say?” Ghania, hearing that long-absent name, spoke in a cool tone, almost as cold as Emilia’s, both showing that reluctance even to bring it up.

Emilia Sullivan scoffed, reaching for the remote to turn off the Tv, rolling her eyes as if out of sight, out of mind, ”Her? She said she’d score perfect marks.”
