The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 826: Chapter 826: Amadeus, Can You Give Me Some Face

He was somewhat distracted, his hand resting on the arm of the sofa, gazing intently at the bracelet on his wrist. It was a silver bracelet Nathalie Quinlan had gifted to him, which he cherished deeply. It paired uniquely with the Buddhist beads he always wore.

His thin lips curved up slightly, his mood becoming somewhat calmer.

Then, he heard the nervous voice of the girl on the phone, ”It’s not really a big deal... Today Lincoln Hoffman visited our family and brought up Phoebe Hoffman. He said she made a joke about Nathalie Quinlan and impulsively hired some hooligans to scare her. The situation blew up and the police got involved. Lincoln Hoffman went to my grandfather to explain and wanted to settle it privately... I always thought our families were on good terms, and I’ve met Phoebe, she isn’t someone who can’t grasp the seriousness, it might just be a misunderstanding. It’s like the Hoffman Family said, the joke just went too far...”

Amadeus Yancey felt a rapid chill in his eyes.

Thousands of miles away, Caryn Zachmann couldn’t see his reaction, yet continued obliviously, ”I heard from Lincoln Hoffman that you also intervened, probably at my brother’s request, Amadeus. Can you do me a favor and let them resolve this privately, without making a fuss about it?”

Initially, she planned to speak with Nathalie Quinlan, asking her not to escalate the situation. However, when she tried calling, not only did Nathalie not pick up, she even blocked Caryn, leaving her unable to reach her except through Amadeus Yancey.

Caryn’s thoughts were simple. With Nathalie Quinlan’s connections alone, she couldn’t touch Phoebe Hoffman. The police dared to arrest someone this time merely because Nathalie relied on the Yancey family’s influence. If Amadeus Yancey spoke up to release them, who in the Beijing police would dare to refuse?

She thought since Nathalie wouldn’t answer the calls, she would go straight to Amadeus Yancey. If Amadeus was willing to let them go, who would dare stop them?

This would only result in Nathalie losing more ”face”.

Caryn was quite confident. After all, she stood out in Beijing’s elite circles, mingling on equal terms with people like Sadam Vinson and Amadeus himself.

She believed she had a certain degree of influence with Amadeus, at least more so than others.

”I asked Lincoln Hoffman, and he said Nathalie wasn’t hurt. Since she’s unharmed, blowing this up isn’t good for anyone. I’ll talk to my brother about it.”

”Does Mr. Zachmann agree with this?” Amadeus Yancey’s eyes were icy as he interrupted her, his tone exceedingly bland as he asked.

”My grandfather...” Caryn Zachmann felt embarrassed, pausing for a moment, then vaguely said, ”My grandfather didn’t say anything, but I think it’s best not to make this a big issue, since no one got hurt. Why should it involve the police?”

Amadeus Yancey knew exactly what kind of person Ericko Zachmann was with just a few words—it was clear he hadn’t given the Hoffman family any ”face”.

This call was one Caryn Zachmann made secretly, without her grandfather knowing.

”Amadeus, could you do me this favor and let me handle it?” Caryn hadn’t yet grasped the situation, speaking with composed grandeur.

”Tsck.” Amadeus Yancey chuckled, a deep, entrancing laughter tinged his voice, ”Give you ’face’?”

Caryn Zachmann faintly sensed something off in his tone, cautiously biting her lip, she spoke softly, ”It’s just a farce. I wanted to tell Nathalie this, but since she didn’t answer, I had no choice but to call you...”

She had also tried calling Nathalie? Amadeus Yancey’s expression grew colder, his voice became even more bland as he interrupted her, speaking slowly with a hint of sarcasm, ”Caryn Zachmann, are you mistaken about your ’face’ with me?”
