The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 822: Chapter 822: No Longer Intend to Let Nathalie Quinlan Stay at Home

Nathalie Quinlan’s family recognition banquet was something he planned to host on a grand scale, hoping that all of Beijing would know he had found his granddaughter.

He had contemplated this for nearly a year. Even when Nathalie’s ”grades weren’t good,” he hadn’t altered his intention to have a grand celebration, and now he was even less likely to change his mind.

Initially, he thought that since Nathalie had returned to the Zachmann Family, she would definitely live with the family members, all of whom would dote on her and fully make up for the affection she had missed over the years.

However, recent incidents had shown him that not everyone in the Zachmann Family welcomed Nathalie’s return, especially Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker.

He pursed his lips, and in a brief moment, he had made up his mind. Looking up, he didn’t leave much face for his son and said succinctly, ”No need, Nathalie won’t be living at the old mansion after she returns. I plan to buy her a new apartment outside, so she won’t live with you all.”

Leonardy Zachmann was slightly stunned and also a bit embarrassed, ”Dad, is it because of what Caryn said earlier? I’ll talk to her later about it, she...”

”Don’t bother talking to her.” Ericko Zachmann had been a man of his word when he was young, and though he had mellowed with age, he was still resolutely a Zachmann, ”Everyone has their own thoughts, and I won’t force anyone. This matter is settled.”

”Don’t overthink it. Even if you don’t live together, you are still her second uncle.”

”Um...” Leonardy Zachmann knew that his father was merely saving his face by not speaking explicitly. His face flushed with heat, he lowered his head, unsure of where to start again.

Out of the corner of his eye, Mr. Zachmann noticed the bank card Lincoln Hoffman had left on the table before leaving, and without hiding his disdain, he said sternly, ”Return that bank card to the Hoffman Family when you find the time. Ha, they think that money can settle everything, ridiculous! Even if Nathalie forgives her, I will never forgive that Phoebe Hoffman! Go get my phone, I need to make a call.”

Mr. Zachmann was well-known in Beijing for his good temper and unimaginably extensive connections, which was also why the Zachmann Family had been able to establish a strong footing in Beijing, outperforming the Hoffman Family.

Even Shawn Norton, known for his reclusive character, had been his close friend for many years, showing a glimpse of Ericko Zachmann’s extensive network.

Knowing his father was acting on impulse, determined to get the police to investigate Phoebe Hoffman thoroughly, Leonardy wasted no time and hurried upstairs to fetch the phone.

Outside.

Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker were seeing off Lincoln Hoffman. On their way back, pondering the words Lincoln had said before leaving, Caryn couldn’t help but feel moved and gently started, ”Mom, actually Nathalie wasn’t hurt. Grandpa didn’t need to be so dismissive of Mr. Hoffman’s face. I just saw Mr. Hoffman leave, and his face didn’t look good.”

Celine Tucker stopped, glanced at her, then calmly adjusted her clothes and said, ”Your grandpa has always felt indebted to your grand-uncle’s side. Since your grand-uncle only has one daughter who was lost for years and couldn’t be found, he couldn’t make amends. Now that he has finally found her, he’s certainly trying all ways to make it up to Nathalie.”

”You shouldn’t have spoken in favor of Phoebe Hoffman in front of grandpa. With what you said, who knows what grandpa will think afterward.”

”That’s true, I didn’t speak out of turn. Nathalie is alright, isn’t she? There was no need to make a big fuss! She also, not knowing the severity, calls the police at the drop of a hat, ha, she doesn’t leave any room for face, nor does she consider the good relationship between our families. With her making such a fuss, it will be awkward for the two families to meet in the future.”
