Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 141: Chapter 102: Promotion Quest

”Plant life? Not bad.”

For an Alchemy Potion Master, plant life is actually a kind of material, and it’s not cheap.

”Hehe, Mr. Baiyi, I’m a Summoner now, but my permanent creature is a juvenile Demon Swallowing Flower. Do you have any way to make it grow faster?” Demacia said, beginning to summon with the Power of Contract.

A purple flower, one and a half meters tall, slowly appeared. As soon as it stood on the back of the Mechanical Giant Dragon, it seemed to sense something, rolled its eyes, and flopped down, motionless.

Demacia: !!!

He stared wide-eyed at his summoned creature, anxiously shouting, ”Hey, Xiaomo, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me.”

He hurriedly checked the status of his summoned creature; the words [Scared Faint] were a bit glaring.

Demacia’s anxiety immediately froze, his expression twisted, and he could almost waste a chance to get good equipment for this useless thing.

Yet it actually fainted from fear? And without anyone even targeting it!

Baiyi stepped forward to check it out, took out a bottle of Life Recovery Potion, pried open the purple mouth, and poured it in.

The breath of life began to flow, and the Cannibal Flower slowly opened its eyes again and then saw Baiyi.

It rolled its eyes again and closed them, motionless.

Baiyi: ....

He hadn’t even thrown away the empty potion bottle yet!

A bit speechless, Baiyi simply ignored this oddity, although the Demon Swallowing Flower is always timid, it shouldn’t faint when the Giant Dragon’s aura isn’t even targeting it.

This can only be described as Demacia’s specifically timid one, but...

Baiyi thought of something, with a hint of schadenfreude in his eyes. Demon Swallowing Flowers are quite ferocious; during their juvenile and adolescent stages, they are extremely timid, but once they reach adulthood, they turn into fierce plants.

It’s an extreme personality switch: the more timid before, the fiercer the personality after maturing, known as the Pingtou of the plant world.

Demacia’s luck...is astounding.

”There are many ways for rapid growth: continuous feeding of life energy, the cheapest being Stamina Recovery Potions, followed by a kind of Plant Growth Hormone, or blood and flesh of High-tier Extraordinary Creatures, and rare plant materials can all do the job.”

”As for hormones, you can find people from the food base; they should be happy to sell to you, but don’t feed too much hormones at once—best to feed one milliliter every seven days.”

Baiyi said reassuringly, ”The information you brought is valuable; I have some Stamina Recovery Potions here, take them.”

Demacia looked at his summoned creature with complex emotions; truly, this Cannibal Flower, from the moment it was summoned, has only attacked him, its owner, and not even killed a single chicken.

And the current performance...he can already imagine the scene in the future, charging with his magic staff while the summoned creature shivers behind him, somewhat despondently ending the summon.

He, Demacia, and his dream of becoming the top player in the server were completely shattered at this moment!

Receiving five bottles of potions, he thanked Baiyi, ”Thank you, Mr. Baiyi.”

At this point, Dongwu City arrived, Baiyi placed Demacia beside the gate of the Inner City, and went to check the installation of the Intercontinental Missile.

In the Tianqi Military Camp, Alchemists from the Di Feng family were still busy, with missile silos neatly arranged, and the number had reached seventy, which was quite good.

Unfortunately, players would go offline in these two days; otherwise, with Demacia’s example, they might thoroughly inspect the surrounding hazards.

Taking some materials that Sabo was supposed to purchase, Baiyi returned to the Potion Shop to continue his crafting.

[You crafted an Alchemy Energy Furnace ×1, Experience Value +3000, skill points +1, Extra Experience Points +3000.]

[You crafted a Solar Energy Collection Core ×1, Experience Value +2000, Extra Experience Points +2000.]

[You crafted a Magnetic Mechanism ×1, Experience Value +1, add....]

[You crafted a Gold-devouring Insect ×1, Experience Value +1, add....]

[You crafted a Mechanical Mosquito ×1, Experience Value +3, add....]

Perhaps because the panel evaluates that single tiny mechanisms are particularly weak, or perhaps because the crafting becomes especially simple after mastering it, the experience value gained is minimal, sometimes even yielding no experience.

Baiyi seriously researched the panel’s experience point mechanism and indeed found a pattern.

How does an Alchemist level up?

Only by crafting Alchemy Products, and during the crafting process, Spiritual Power and Magic Power get trained.

This is also why among all panels, only Alchemists gain experience by crafting.

As for gaining experience by killing with a boss template, he doesn’t know how it’s determined, but Baiyi can be certain about gaining experience from crafting.

The growth in experience actually reflects his actual skill level; the template just renders it data-driven.

Magic Power and Spiritual Power are honed, and this honed growth becomes experience points; only the Extra Experience Points come from the panel’s power, thus representing special growth.

This might be reasonable, because, without exception, just a single Gold-devouring Insect, if the panel dared to give him one experience point for one Gold-devouring Insect, Baiyi could max out his level in a few months.

That’s surely impossible, unless this world is really a game....

Even if it were a game, that would still be a bug, the kind that would be fixed.

Baiyi wasn’t disappointed, after all, he needed to make billions of Gold-devouring Insects, so even if not every single one granted experience points, the massive quantity still allowed for considerable Extra Experience Points.
