Chapter 136: Chapter 99: Laws Targeting Players_3

It seems like it’s about to escalate into a direct conflict between players and official forces.

Just then, the Federation began to issue laws concerning players, and the military started to suppress both players and civilians, announcing new laws that imposed restrictions on both players and residents.

[Marvels are not allowed to cause slaughter within the city; violators will be executed consecutively, and all items on them confiscated until their power drops to the weakest. If an individual commits the crime more than three times, they will be permanently banned by the Federation, disallowing them from leaving the respawn point.]

[Marvels enjoy the treatment of ordinary residents within the city; if they are killed and evidence can be provided, the offender will be convicted of deliberate murder, becoming a mining slave or executed directly.]

[Robbery, theft: anyone caught will be fined twice the value of the stolen goods.]

These three legal clauses were added to temporarily resolve the conflict between players and residents.

These clauses also indicated that the Federation’s research on players had reached a deep level, understanding that players rely on killing and completing tasks to level up, and that their level decreases upon death followed by a respawn in a fixed room, among other patterns.

Of course, some players didn’t believe in this and decided to test it. Consequently, other onlookers witnessed a mage cast a scene reversal magic, instantly reverting a Level 7 player in Chaoyang City back to Level 1.

Thus, the first conflict between players and NPCs ceased, restoring the original harmony.

”Scary, this place truly is a second real world,” Demacia remarked, feeling a bit emotional after closing the video of that player being brutally killed.

”A 97% reality level is already exaggerated. Aside from us players, this place is no different from the real world,” Guard Brigade nodded, also feeling a bit emotional: ”Honestly, many times I find it hard to believe this is a game. Otherwise, why do other gaming companies at most still stick with VR?”

”Who cares, now there are hidden professions available, and a rare Summoner at that. I’m planning to start streaming; we’re destined to rise!” Demacia exclaimed excitedly, waving his magic staff.

Among the five hidden professions, Demacia chose the Summoner, capable of locating those drifting continents to summon a permanent summoned creature, and also summoning ordinary summoned creatures using sacrifices.

This profession is very rare and primarily relies on the Charm Attribute. Especially for players with a level cap, a bit of luck, and surpassing level battles will no longer be an issue. ℯℯ𝑙.

Guard Brigade, on the other hand, became a Space-Time Assassin, a rare space system branch within the Assassin profession. Upon reaching Level 17 and advancing to Bronze Middle Tier, he could briefly hide within the crevices of space, an ideal profession for a big streamer.

Because, in this way, he can go to more places he couldn’t before and avoid most threats.

After all, anyone trying to tear through Xiya Continent’s space must be at least Golden Level, exceptions being those with special professions like them.

Guard Brigade pondered and replied: ”I’m planning to go on an exploration. The theme of the open beta is likely going to focus on events outside the city, probably those Mutated Zones, so checking it out early wouldn’t hurt.”

”Let’s go together. You don’t mind if I piggyback on your audience, do you?” Demacia asked with a chuckle.

”You’ve cried twice, but your popularity is still high, don’t underestimate yourself, kid.” Guard Brigade patted Demacia’s shoulder and headed towards the city gates.

Demacia’s face turned dark: ”Mad, that was called wisdom, otherwise how could I get a Silver Level magic staff?”

”Ah, yes, yes, everything you said is right.”

”What kind of attitude is that? Mad, don’t run, believe it or not, I’ll summon a creature to bite you right now?”

”Didn’t you say you wanted to buy a few more days of lottery tickets and wait for your bad luck to run out before summoning a permanent summoned creature?”

”Why do you care? Watch my grand summoning technique! Eh? Oh crap! Demon Swallowing Flower? What do you want to do? Don’t bite, don’t swallow me ahhhhh....”
