Chapter 116: Chapter 91: Legendary Equipment

Demacia has been feeling a bit melancholic lately. It’s been several days since he last saw Baiyi, and most importantly, the Federation has been extremely serious recently, with all the major cities on high alert.

Due to the style of broadcast by the Guard Brigade, he spent five Gold Coins to buy a mobile phone from this world and learned a lot from it.

It’s said that a legislator had a problem and got beheaded by a Legendary Berserker with one axe swing.

This event placed the Black Night Rose on the Federation’s top wanted list, and anyone providing information on the Black Night Rose would receive a significant reward.

However, the Black Night Rose has completely vanished. The organization that once had frequent activities now seems to have disappeared entirely.

Demacia looked at the task he couldn’t complete for a long time, and sighed.

”Guard Brigade, what’s up? Not setting off yet?”

The disappearance of the Black Night Rose meant the area outside the city was no longer off-limits. They could also go search for the Night Rose’s altar outside the city.

Unfortunately, the only ones doing tasks related to the Black Night Rose now were him and the Guard Brigade. The other three, unable to find anyone from the Black Night Rose, decided to go grind quests, intending to have fun in this world after they change professions.

”Don’t worry, it’s not a big issue, I already have clues.”

Guard Brigade smiled, found a tree to sit under, and his eyes looked a bit vacant as he organized some data from the forum.

The advantage for players is that anyone can post on the forum, and among thousands of posts, Guard Brigade could always find the information he wanted. This was the main reason he became a god of science popularization and teaching.

”What?” Demacia got interested, walked over, sat next to Guard Brigade, and eagerly asked, ”Want me to help?”

Guard Brigade thought for a moment and didn’t refuse: ”Look at these posts I’ve compiled, and find some common points.”

Demacia opened his friend messages, and a series of posts appeared.

[Damn, what kind of stupid task is this? Are you sure a Level 5 civilian can complete this? Stupid planners, idiotic game!]

[Are these stupid NPCs mentally handicapped? Look at this task, it’s absurd.Task: Civilian Uprising.Task Attributes: Special Task.Task Description: Water can carry a boat or overturn it. If the Federation doesn’t treat civilians as humans, then it’s time for a change.Charge the City Lord’s Mansion, kill the City Lord, and secure a future for the citizens of Beiyuan City.Task Difficulty: Divine...]

[What the hell, damn, this game is unplayable, an idiotic NPC gave me a task, damn, and then that idiot in a cloak killed me when I completed the task, stupid planners should come out and die!]

[Why are there so many must-die tasks? Absurd, and most are targeting rich merchants and officials, how repressive are these NPCs?]

[Damn....]

”What the hell, where did you find so many posts?” Demacia frowned as he looked at the posts. His keen insight made him realize something instantly.

”Why does it feel so familiar?” Demacia murmured.

Guard Brigade paused, a bit speechless: ”It’s not Baiyi; that was a large task with a chance of completion, and he even provided compensation. These are different, just keep looking...”

Demacia frowned, browsing through the posts, looking for patterns, and finally, he was shocked.

”Hiss~ Is this really a game? NPCs are actually figuring out the rules players use to accept tasks!” Demacia was full of shock. He instinctively glanced at the forum and found that Guard Brigade wasn’t broadcasting live.

He asked in confusion: ”You’re not streaming? I feel like the game is playing us, not the other way around!”

Guard Brigade was silent for a moment, then said: ”Actually, as long as you treat this world as real and view the players as truly undying marvels, this is normal, like Baiyi, Sabo, and other official high-ups in the cities.”

”They’re all testing the players. Otherwise, how could a super genius like Baiyi restrict us directly? Even five daily tasks, with no Experience Value for the last two?”

Demacia’s eyes widened and he instinctively said: ”Is this game that twisted?”

”97% realism means, apart from the player’s panel and the player itself, this is a real world. If the real world had players descending, similar situations would appear.” Guard Brigade wasn’t concerned and continued organizing his materials.

”Then what’s the point of organizing these?” Demacia asked, a bit puzzled.

”Heh, immerse yourself in this world, then look at these posts again.” Guard Brigade chuckled lightly, his eyes full of light, determined to complete his Divine-level Task!

Demacia, a bit puzzled, carefully observed and considered these phenomena in real-life terms, thinking about what they represent.

Then he widened his eyes: ”So the Black Night Rose didn’t hide away but turned their focus on us!”

”How did you come up with this?” Demacia admired Guard Brigade.

The NPCs mentioned in these player posts were mostly civilians and Lower-Rank Bronze Transcendents.

Official probing is understandable, like Baiyi and Sabo, but having civilians start probing and gradually understanding the patterns of player tasks is somewhat terrifying.

Although it can’t be said that civilians don’t have smart people, after that legislator’s Black Night Rose was exposed, so many civilians and weak ’smart people’ appeared in a short time, confirming some things.

Demacia’s eyes shone brightly, and he seemed to know how Guard Brigade was going to complete his Divine-level Task.
