Chapter 84: Chapter 78: Massacre in the Mutated Zone

The speed of Mach 5 is 1,700 meters per second, over 6,000 kilometers per hour.

This kind of speed shouldn’t appear on any Silver Level creature, yet now a supersonic dragon is soaring through the sky.

A low-altitude flight instantly scatters the grass, uproots trees with the air current, and some small animals die on the spot in this sonic boom.

Baiyi pulls the lever; although the Bone Dragon can fly on its own, he now enjoys the feeling of control.

And according to the game’s experience determination mechanism, if an Alchemist controls a weapon he made, killing enemies will yield experience points.

This means that if Bodun’s Dragon Breath kills a monster, he won’t gain experience points, but if he operates the cannons on Bodun to bombard enemies, he will gain the corresponding experience points.

The upcoming massacre, like a player, would yield an exorbitant amount of experience points, even if each kill only grants ten points.

He’s heading to the newly arisen Mutated Zone, where he needs just eighty thousand experience points, storing the extra until the Black Night Rose is fully exposed before coming back to farm more.

A hundred kilometers covered in this speed reached a patch of land rich with Abyssal aura in just over fifty seconds.

The land here is dark red, seemingly soaked in blood, but also dry, imparting a sinister feeling.

On the edge of this area, some humans, Beastmen, Elves, and other races cautiously probe forward; they are all adventurers.

The Mutated Zone brings danger and wealth alike.

The Abyss erodes living beings, turning them into monsters driven only by slaughter, whose bodies become magic materials.

These magic materials are widely used in the Federation’s industries, such as the Mage’s magic equipment, Alchemist’s technology weapons and curse potions, and blacksmiths also love the controllable Abyssal energy.

Thus, whenever a new Mutated Zone appears, the adventurer’s hunt begins, the main source of their gold coin income.

”Greet them,” Baiyi says with a smile.

The dragon, already attracting most of the attention, loops back to these adventurers, lowering its flight, then suddenly flies between them and the Mutated Zone.

BOOM BOOM BOOM...

The intense sonic boom stirs up a frenzied airflow, blowing away anyone below Bronze Upper Tier.

Before anyone could react in terror and anger, Baiyi’s joyful voice spreads across the area, ”I am Baiyi, testing new weapons. The Mutated Zone will go berserk in thirty seconds, leave the zone immediately.”

The young voice, somewhat cheerful, changes the faces of the adventurers.

Baiyi!

This is a legendary name, at least in Dongwu City, in this era, the legendary youth’s name is no longer Mosen, but Baiyi!

Most of the adventurers are Bronze, heedful, and quickly retreat, for those who don’t heed the warning die in the hunt and counter-hunt with mutant creatures.

Baiyi is satisfied with this effect; he presses a switch, the propellers on the dragon’s wings slowly shut down.

Without the powerful kinetic energy, but it doesn’t hinder Bodun’s dominance, as the new Mutated Zone is mostly filled with Bronze Lower Tier monsters.

They need to engage in endless mutual slaughter like Abyssal Worms to quickly neutralize the Abyssal Power in their bodies, entering a rapid growth period.

This gu-raising style is defined by Federation adventurers as the Initial Phase.

Once the Mutated Zone’s lord, the boss, forms, the Mutated Zone enters the Expansion Zone, where they will kill all life forms not belonging to the Abyss.

And the vitality, blood qi of living beings is their best growth fertilizer, eventually birthing lords from the Abyss.

Observing below, meter-long dragonflies flying at great speed, sparrows seven-eight meters wide, mice as large as bulls, rabbits leaping tens of meters, tigers exuding a kingly aura, giant bears as tall as two-story buildings...

With a swift glance, Baiyi sees only these, the dragon’s dominance causes chaos among the monsters below, but their mutual slaughter continues.

The creatures in the Initial Phase Mutated Zone are in a kill-on-sight state; they lack the concept of fear, dragon power only makes them feel threatened, not scared.

Some birds and flying insects sense Baiyi’s aura, fly up, especially the four to five meters big, two or three-headed cockroaches, the most disgusting presence.

Baiyi’s eyes show disdain, checking the time, Baiyi raises his hand, magic power constructs a shield before him.

He grips the control stick, an excited smile forms on his lips, ”Charge through, low-altitude flight!”

The Bone Dragon lowers its body, flapping steel wings fiercely, charging at the swarm of insects and birds.

BANG BANG BANG...

The intense crashing sound erupts instantly, the Bone Dragon’s own speed reaches supersonic levels, the enormous impact force shattering these Bronze level scraps in no time.

Blues, greens, whites, and yellows disintegrate in the air current.

During the low-altitude flight, Baiyi rapidly presses button after button.

The steel dragon’s belly, its scales open, revealing dense arrays of gun barrels and cannon barrels.

Incendiary bombs!

Baiyi presses a button, countless pre-stored incendiary bombs launch at high speed.

Buzz~

As the dragon flies through, the ten-kilometer diameter Mutated Zone instantly erupts in towering flames, the forest ablaze with a raging fire.

The panel suddenly streams messages, densely packed experience points make the inbox unreadable.

”Another round!”

Bodun abruptly loops back, flying in another direction.

Baiyi madly presses buttons again, Barrett’s unique sound combines with countless Gatling sounds, forming a metal storm that tears through the flames instantly.

The dragon’s underbelly, under its wings, its legs, and arms all turned into places where gun barrels appear, a flow of metal relentlessly slaughtering the Mutated Zone’s monsters.

”Continue!”

Baiyi pressed the buttons for the shells and various bombs. As the giant dragon glided at low altitude, one alchemy bomb after another dropped into the forest.

They emitted a beeping sound, making this massacre suddenly become extremely urgent.

”Breath’s end, let’s go back!”

Baiyi glanced at the experience value, which had reached 250,000, and released his hands, admiring the forest that had already turned into a sea of fire.

With this giant dragon, even more Bronze creatures are just trash! We’ll wait until they run out of resources, then make a direct escape.

Bodun nodded, his eyes brightened with a scarlet glow.

The iron corners of its mouth gradually showed a deep blue dragon flame as it built up momentum. When reaching the edge of the forest, it performed a turn.

Then the temperature in the forest suddenly rose, the continuous beeping sound reached its peak at this moment, and the giant dragon opened its mouth.

The mechanical device suddenly emitted a piercing operating sound, and the intense deep blue undead fire gradually turned dark blue, with many magic energies continuously enhancing the dragon’s breath.

With the explosion of the first alchemy bomb, the forest’s temperature suddenly reached an extreme state, and all the trees spontaneously combusted at that moment.

Meanwhile, the dragon’s undead breath also descended upon the earth with a dragon roar at this time.

Boom!

The ground began to quake, as deep blue flames suddenly soared to the sky, instantly cleaving the forest and forming a striking contrast with the ordinary flames on both sides.

The terrifying dragon power suppressed all auras, and the dragon’s breath melted the ground into crystals upon reaching the edge.

Baiyi opened the thruster, and at the same time, the dragon’s breath ceased, bursting out at five times the speed and emitting a stronger sonic boom as it instantly flew away.

Only the adventurers at the edge of the forest were left gaping in shock, exchanging glances, and swallowing their saliva.

They indeed knew Baiyi was formidable, but destroying a whole Mutated Zone in one minute... Is this really something a Silver Alchemist can do?

”Is it really Silver?”

A beastman muttered: ”Or Middle Tier?”

”Perhaps... Feels much stronger than those in the imperial capital... Geniuses are all freaks...”

”Should still be lacking, the capital’s all freaks....”

”Who cares, is there any mage who can use a fire extinguishing spell? The things inside should be mostly dead, let’s go in and collect the loot!”

”Exactly, who cares about geniuses, I just want gold coins!”

”Let’s go, go, go, remember to avoid the blue flames, the ordinary flames are harmless...”

[You killed a Level 9 Mutated Dragonfly, Experience Value +3...]

[You killed a Level 11 Mutated Cheetah, Experience Value +9...]

[You....]

[You killed 56,000 Mutated Creatures, Experience Value +81,320.]

A series of panel prompts made Baiyi feel very comfortable. Seeing the experience value almost full, he was very satisfied with the transformation of the mechanical giant dragon.

Luckily, the last hit was the dragon’s breath, so it counted as creatures killed by Bodun, not him, otherwise, he would be Silver Upper Tier now.....

Baiyi felt a bit restrained, and the matter with the Black Night Rose needed to be accelerated. Those top players should be very interested in investigating the Black Night Rose.

But...

Baiyi pondered, the person issuing the task cannot be him, as that would let the Black Night Rose trace it back to him, which would be very bad.

The best scenario is to distance himself from the matter, then issue the task, and finally guide them...

While pondering, Dongwu City’s outline already appeared ahead, thinking about it, Baiyi still let Bodun stop.

He asked, ”Can you return to the Undead Realm now?”

”Sorry, Boss, after that contract was signed, my true form descended to the Xiya Continent. The Undead Realm’s location is constantly moving, I can’t return.” Bodun’s voice was pleasant, with a mechanical electronic tone that matched his current iron body, very imposing.

Baiyi thought for a moment: ”Then you go back to the modified valley first, wait for the contract’s summon, and come find me again, remember to hide yourself.”

”Got it, Boss.” Bodun lowered his head to the ground, and after Baiyi got off, it flapped its wings and rapidly flew away.

As a contracted creature, except for being ordered to die, it cannot disobey Baiyi’s commands, of course, that’s within the first five layers of the contract.....

As Baiyi entered the city, he was soon noticed by the players.

This group of otherworldly visitors showed no awe. With a cry of ”Whoa, quick look, it’s Baiyi!”

About twenty players swarmed over.

Their first words were: ”Baiyi, can you reopen that task? I want to revisit the Undead Tomb!”

The players around had similar expressions, some gritting their teeth, it was obvious they wanted to challenge that boss again.

The players’ sense of vengeance was still strong, a boss might become their obsession.

Of course, it had little to do with Baiyi, he helplessly said: ”You guys are late, the Undead Tomb has been destroyed, it’s now just an ordinary mountain.”

”De...destroyed?”

The players looked at each other, and a term simultaneously occurred to them: bug fix!

Doesn’t this mean they have no more opportunities for rewards ever again?

”But don’t worry, everyone, the promised fifty silver coin compensation is still valid. Come to my potion shop tomorrow night to collect it.”

Baiyi said, waving his hand, hailed a cab, and headed towards the Inner City District.

The players exchanged glances, momentarily unsure of what to do.
