Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 55: Chapter 53: Arming the Shop

Baiyi returned to the Dawn Potion Shop. It was already late, and Luoning hadn’t pressed the call bell for Mr. Or to switch shifts. Instead, she was anxiously curled up on a stool, timidly watching the street scene outside the glass door.

When she saw Baiyi push the door open and come in, her eyes lit up. She quickly stood up to greet him, ”Boss, you’re finally back.”

Her inner unease was dissipating, as if just seeing Baiyi made any unknown danger non-existent.

Baiyi approached and took out a few books from his arms, handing them to Luoning, ”Practice well.”

Luoning took the books with some confusion, and the covers clearly read ”Beginner Spiritual Cultivation Method,” ”Astrological Divination,” ”Aura Divination,” ”Destiny Survey,”...

She looked up in surprise, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at Baiyi, ”Boss, are all these for me?”

”Yes, you have great talent. Practice diligently, and one day you will definitely become a world-renowned Divination Master.” Baiyi nodded, earnestly encouraging her.

”Thank you, boss. I’ll repay you in the future.” Luoning happily expressed her gratitude. In the half month she had been at the Dawn Potion Shop, she had repeatedly read ”Astronomical Observation,” which she had bought herself, and understood the connection between her dreams and divination.

She originally planned to use the hundred gold coins she had to acquire related knowledge. Once she got started, she would be able to set up a divination corner in the shop.

She believed that as long as the money went to the boss, he would surely agree.

However, she hadn’t expected Baiyi to go out and buy things for her. Her eyes shone even brighter with attachment and admiration as she looked at him.

Baiyi felt a bit uncomfortable under her gaze and waved his hand somewhat impatiently, ”Go to sleep, don’t you know staying up late stunts growth?”

”Oh.” Luoning happily hugged the books and dashed toward the rest area, not even bothering about the gold coins on the table.

”Wait a minute!” Baiyi spoke helplessly.

The little girl immediately stopped, turned her head with some confusion, ”What’s the matter?”

Bang~

The sound of gold coins hitting the floor echoed.

”The gold coins are for you to buy things you like with Aileen. You’re wearing other people’s clothes, so you should repay them with a set.”

Baiyi spoke casually while looking at the shop walls.

The walls housed various defense systems that now needed dismantling and upgrading, a not-insignificant project that would keep him busy for the next few days.

As for the auction samples, he had long prepared the materials, just a few finishing touches remained.

”Okay.” Luoning obediently responded, holding the books with one hand and struggling to drag the gold coins to the rest area with the other.

She currently didn’t have any extraordinary attributes, so her strength was that of an ordinary 12-year-old girl. With each gold coin weighing fifty grams and totaling ten pounds, it took some effort for her to lift them with one hand.

Baiyi thought for a moment, and a worker bee flew out. A special vibration triggered a mechanism, and gun barrels extended from the wall, pointing technologically intimidatingly at Baiyi.

Barrett had sacrificed everything; there was a significant difference between the Bronze and Silver Barrett.

The Bronze Level Energy Gun only had penetration capability, while the Silver Level allowed for enchantments, which could easily defeat spirit bodies.

It continued to focus all the performance on power, making the gun more prominent.

For instance, if the power of a peer Energy Gun were 10, Barrett’s power would be 100, or even 150.

However, both their strengths and weaknesses were evident; those could fire continuously, whereas it could only fire once.

Thirty worker bees quickly disassembled the mechanisms, removing the Bronze Level Barrett and some defensive or restrictive instruments.

With his current alchemical skills, the Silver Level Barrett had a 30% failure rate, so it couldn’t be mass-produced as before.

However, if the Silver Level Barrett’s price were set at four thousand gold coins, it could still be sold since its cost was low, just two hundred gold coins. The primary technology came from a future alloy.

The reason others couldn’t imitate was primarily due to this alloy’s composition.

The shop needed revamping. Now high-end routes were more suited for Baiyi; low-end ones wasted time and resources. Maybe...

Considering the future, the worker bees had already dismantled one entire wall of mechanisms, leaving it full of pits and holes.

”Mr. Or, bring out the prepared materials, and move these back.” Baiyi’s voice contained magic, and soon the door on the left of the counter opened, with the sound of skeletons colliding.

Skeletons appeared, with weak soul fires in their eye sockets, carrying polished parts and stacking them aside, then carrying the various mechanisms back.

During the process, they occasionally fell apart but were reassembled by a force.

Due to working day and night, their bones seemed to become more brittle.

But no one cared.

The thirty worker bees rapidly assembled into a temporary manufacturing platform in front of Baiyi, with mechanical arms extending out, emitting electric arcs.

The previous instruments had been mostly destroyed; new ones would need making in a while.

But fortunately, these allowed for experience farming, especially the Silver Level equipment, which provided significant experience. Once everything was done, he might even advance a level.

With the firearms on the floor cleared, Baiyi began manufacturing the Silver Barrett.

His unparalleled proficiency and understanding of Barrett made his manufacturing ridiculously fast. Although there were occasional failures, overall, it was decent.

The continuous notifications on the panel heightened Baiyi’s crafting enthusiasm. High Concentration, this specialty let him ignore trivial matters outside, with his attention focused intensely.

When an Energy Gun suddenly emitted high heat, a burst of golden energy enveloped the halfway-assembled Energy Gun.

Bang!

An explosive roar was confined within a small shield, and Baiyi snapped out of High Concentration, glancing to his side.

The sky outside hadn’t yet brightened, and Sunu, reeking of alcohol, with eyes bright, looked at him, causing Baiyi some discomfort, ”Brother, what’s up?”

”Brother, your talent is exceptionally high; your future prospect is limitless.” Sunu attempted to pat Baiyi’s shoulder like an elder, but due to the height difference, he settled for patting Baiyi’s arm, as a gesture of affirmation.

Baiyi smiled in response, ”I’m confident about that. Brother, since we’ve already discussed our matters, and I’ve been busy lately, how about... you head back first?”

Sunu disagreed, shaking his head, ”You trusted me with such a major representative matter, making you like my dear brother. Your place is too unsafe, unsuitable for an Alchemist’s residence; let me help you renovate it.”

Baiyi’s eyes brightened; if he could obtain a Golden Level Barrett in advance, that would be stable!

”Really? Then thank you, brother; you’re so generous.”

”It’s nothing, just a small matter.”

”Brother, I want to ask a question.”

”Go ahead, no need to be polite with me.”

”Do you think the storage ability of this outfit could be upgraded? It only stores five items...”

”Let me see, the idea is good; it can be upgraded, but why not use a space ring or bracelet? They’re more cost-effective.”

Baiyi lowered his head, slightly dejected.

[You have obtained Golden Equipment, Space Profound Ring.]

Baiyi immediately beamed, ”Thank you, brother!”
