Chapter 66: Chapter 64: World Marvels

Continue to look at the next post.

In this post, Baiyi saw many things, including the characteristics of three Federations. For instance, Dawn Federation is primarily composed of Warriors and Assassins, as the two Legends there are both Warriors.

On the other hand, Star Federation focuses on Alchemists and Mages because the two Legends there are an Alchemist and a Mage.

Finally, Sun Federation mainly consists of Divine Mages, as that Federation has only one Legend, but a Divine Mage with ample longevity.

Players, apart from not being able to choose a Federation, are given five options for cities, with a quota of ten thousand for each city.

Baiyi analyzed that the story and significant events of version 1.0 are likely to take place in these cities.

Baiyi noted down the names of the five cities: [Dongwu City] [Beiyuan City] [Chaoyang City] [Youlong City] [Biyi City].

The five major cities, with two being border cities, if brought into reality, the remaining three would at least be as important as Upper Guang Sea.

Youlong City is close to Dongwu City, so it seems attention should be given.

After watching the promotional videos of the other two city-states, there’s no difference from the previous life, except for the changed cover of Sun City State.

However, what’s interesting about this city-state is still the profession of Divine Mage.

As the name implies, Divine Mages rely on gods, but not in this game.

Divine Mages are generally followers of gods, praying to the gods to receive specific powers from them, known as Divine Magic.

This is the origin of the term Divine Magic, as Xiya Continent thought one thousand five hundred years ago.

Even after the disappearance of gods, the profession of Divine Mage almost vanished.

But at that time, an eccentric Divine Mage appeared. Although he was a Divine Mage, he didn’t have much faith in his god.

After the disappearance of gods, fearing the loss of his power, he dashed into his god’s Divine Hall, knelt before his god, and prayed, but the god remained vanished, and his power continued to decline.

He was devastated, so he attempted to use the limited Divine Power he had to shatter the idol with the residual power of the god.

But this triggered the faith accumulated in the idol because that faith and his Divine Power shared the same origin.

His lost Divine Power returned completely, even stronger than before.

This discovery directly revitalized and mutated the profession of Divine Mage.

From then on, all Divine Mages were Shallow Believers. They only needed a little personal faith in gods to leverage the general faith of non-professionals in gods.

This faith would be guided to condense into power, and without gods, this power was no longer specific to Divine Magic.

Divine Mages could use faith to accomplish more.

For example, a weak physique could become muscular under the baptism of faith, with faith being stored and transformed like magic power.

Various job changes for Divine Mages appeared: Divine Warriors, Holy Knights, Golden Armor Warriors, Divine Elemental Mages... a series of professions.

These job changes supported Sun Federation and transformed that region into a place abundant with faith.

In his thoughts, Baiyi began his research and exploration of the forum. Some player speculations were quite insightful, and he was also studying the panel, considering whether more functionalities existed besides the forum and countdown if visible there.

During the days Baiyi was researching, the auction spread thoroughly.

The two-day auction was grand, spreading far in Dawn, with the turnover reaching as high as 1.2 billion Gold Coins, leaving people amazed.

The front part of the auction could indeed be called a new era, with some technologies unavailable even to Star Federation.

The later part was the most exciting.

A Dwarf brought out some outrageous things, each one extraordinarily powerful.

For instance, a Critical Strike Potion could enhance all-around attributes threefold for an hour, but its side effect lights up the head and prevents the use of any Hidden Potion.

This potion was dubbed miraculous, effective below Golden Level, and the side effect was negligible, as someone consuming a strength-enhancing potion wouldn’t hide in the dark.

There were many incredibly powerful items with bizarre side effects.

Even a piece of clothing fetched a high price of eight million Gold Coins.

It was armor providing one-time absolute defense, unbreakable by Legendary Power, with the side effect of sacrificing a body part.

That item was valuable, as surviving a Legendary attack with some damage was far from dead or unsullied.

Other items were similarly high-level but with strange side effects, powerful yet odd.

With a large number, they fetched a total auction price over thirty million Gold Coins.

Two people became famous during the auction; Alchemy Genius Baiyi, an eighteen-year-old Silver Middle-Rank Alchemist, and a Dwarf known for his bizarre, unpredictable methods.

Two days after the auction ended, which was the third day after Baiyi returned to the shop, discussions erupted throughout the Federation.

Due to Sunu’s high foundation, the Alchemy Magic Net in the capital city was already established, and Koman Family began constructing the network from Central City State.

Perhaps Sunu became more proficient, as his construction speed of the Alchemy Magic Net accelerated.

It was estimated to cover half the cities in five days and the entire Federation in half a month.

The steam train railways were laying down madly. Fatty Luo’s location was in the southeastern middle of Dawn Federation, with railway tracks connecting various cities under the high-intensity labor of over three hundred thousand people.

If this speed continued, the whole Federation could be interconnected within ten years.

However, Fatty Luo was in a rush, pouring his cash flow into multiple cities to frantically lay tracks, aiming to connect the southeast in a month.

The Di Feng Family was also spending furiously to purchase various materials. Although there was no Golden Alchemy Technologist in this family, it had construction plans, a Silver Upper-Tier Alchemy Technologist, and countless resources, sufficient to independently build Alchemical Intercontinental Missile Cannons.

The cost was high, but it was irrelevant; these strategic items were sought by every city.

Many such changes thrived, turning the once stagnant Federation into a vibrant scene of reform.

By now, Baiyi had reached near the spawn point released by the players, coincidentally a newly rebuilt area after the Scarlet Sacrifice battlefield.

Possibly because this construction was denser, many houses weren’t fully occupied, with the spawn point of the players in the farthest corner of a residential area.

As for why Baiyi could see the forum, he attributed it to post-crossover effects, the player panel not being completely disconnected.

No other reason could be found.

”Hey, my friend, why meet here?”

Turning to look at Sabo, Baiyi asked thoughtfully, ”What do you think of this area?”

”Just built, no one’s living. Why?” Sabo asked, puzzled.

”If I wanted this area, should I buy or apply?” Baiyi asked.

”Apply. With your current status, why waste the money?” Sabo scratched his ankle and suddenly smirked, ”My friend, is something good about to happen? Can I join?”

Baiyi glanced at the countdown: [Internal Testing Countdown: 6 days 13 hours 56 minutes].

Smiling, ”Have you heard of World Marvels?”
