Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 52: Chapter 50: The Alchemist from Afar

Pushing open the metal door, Baiyi looked at the empty shop, feeling a bit puzzled.

Ah, is this my potion shop? Where are the models?

”Boss, you’re finally here. This is Mr. Sunu, he just bought all the models from our shop...” Aileen’s voice caught Baiyi’s attention.

He turned his head and saw Aileen and Luoning with complex expressions. In front of them was a middle-aged dwarf with a kind face.

He was about 1.3 meters tall, had a brown beard reaching his knees, and wore seven shiny rings on his hands that looked quite expensive.

When he saw Baiyi, his eyes lit up, and he walked over enthusiastically, ”You must be Baiyi? I really like your ideas. I’m Sunu, currently serving the Koman Family. I came here to discuss the Alchemy Magic Net with you.

Regarding this, I have my independent discipline, and the final product is almost identical to yours. I assume you got the idea from the Wise Man’s Network as mentioned by the Star Federation adventurer? Can we discuss it?”

His eyes became even brighter as he looked at Baiyi. A young genius with coinciding ideas, yet his technology has never made a breakthrough.

So after seeing the effect video circulated by Baiyi, he rushed over immediately, hoping to discuss the idea thoroughly with this genius and try to endorse this Magic Net.

After hearing Sunu’s introduction, Baiyi instantly remembered who this person was.

The Magic Net that covered the entire Federation — he overheard it while the capital city players were chatting, then he discussed it with those players for an afternoon. Shortly after, the Magic Net appeared dramatically, sweeping through three Federations at once.

Even the Alchemy Sages felt that Sunu’s network operation concept was novel, and thus replaced the current network of the Star Federation with Sunu’s Magic Net system.

Baiyi essentially plagiarized this person’s work and was regarded as a kindred spirit...

Baiyi felt a bit embarrassed, like a time traveler reciting ”before the bed, the bright moonlight,” only to have Li Bai come upon hearing it — somewhat shameful.

”You’re too kind, sir. I’m just a novice with some superficial ideas, nowhere near a renowned alchemist like you,” Baiyi said hesitantly.

Thinking there was no harm, Baiyi continued, ”In that case, sir, please follow me. I’d be very happy to discuss it with you in detail, this way, please.”

Baiyi began walking toward the reception room and turned to Aileen, who was holding a Dawn Badge, and said, ”Go to the Saint Martial Vineyard and get the best wine. I need to entertain an esteemed guest.”

”Understood.” Aileen was a bit surprised; the best wine cost over a thousand gold coins a bottle, is the boss crazy?

”It’s not necessary to go to such trouble. I just want to discuss with you. If it’s inconvenient for you, you only need to listen to the current research results that I have. I can wait until half a month later, it’s just a few days,” Sunu said, feeling a bit shy.

In his perspective, it felt like he was peeking into someone else’s research results. Although he considered them kindred spirits, it felt somewhat unethical.

Sometimes he suspected whether his work was plagiarized, but since he hadn’t yet solved the challenges, and others did, there was no talk of plagiarism.

”It’s no matter, honestly speaking, in the entire Federation, aside from the two Legends, I admire you the most. I still remember your deeds in the textbooks from my childhood; you are the one who guided me onto the path of being an Alchemist. This time, we must drink to the end.”

Baiyi, pulling Sunu into the reception room while singing his praises, at first didn’t realize it was him. He only knew that the Alchemy Magic Net had great value, enough to change many things in the Federation.

And now that the person in question came, Baiyi wouldn’t take all the credit for himself. Of course, the most important reason was that this Alchemist was worth befriending.

He turned to Luoning and said, ”Let’s close temporarily. If anyone asks, just say I’m preparing for the auction, and all the products are sold out.”

”Okay, boss.” Luoning, now a bit rounder, nodded and ran to the door, turning off the neon lights outside and sticking a ”Closed Temporarily” sign on the glass door.

She turned around and looked at the two who had entered the reception room, thought for a moment, and took out two bottles of milk from behind the counter, then took two glass cups from her and Aileen’s room, poured the milk, and brought it into the reception room.

Baiyi’s eyes brightened slightly, as much as he just had the delicious Soul Crystal Core, he still couldn’t resist his favorite beverage.

Giving a nod of approval to Luoning, Baiyi placed a glass of milk in front of Sunu and said with a smile, ”Mr. Sunu, please continue. I never thought that within the vast Alchemy Knowledge system, we could end up researching the same subject, it must be destiny.”

Sunu had a broad smile on his face, ”Yes, I also feel that you and I... no, I and your thinking are exactly the same, which is why I was so eager to come over. Although you’re quite young, the capable come first. I still hope to become friends with you.”

”You’re flattering me.” Baiyi glanced at Luoning, who quickly exited, not wanting to spoil the boss’s mood.

Baiyi was even more pleased. He asked, ”Shall we continue? I roughly understand your thought process, but I hope you can elaborate on the details. If possible, I have something I would like to ask of you.”

Sunu was stunned, his eyes lit up; it seemed Baiyi’s idea might again coincide with his own — truly a kindred spirit!

He quickly nodded, ”No problem, as I said before, the Magic Net is about creating a terminal that radiates a special power, this power uses the magic in the air as a medium to connect to another terminal’s network, creating a net that covers the entire Federation...”

”Such a network can allow all devices pre-approved by the terminal to connect to the terminal network from anywhere under this net; eventually, it will be managed by a regional network...”

”The manufacturing process is somewhat complex but also simple, which is...”

Sunu had no intention of hiding anything and shared his thought process completely.

His field of study had already been researched by others, and he wasn’t about to dispute others’ theories. Instead, he put forth his own theories for comparison and validation.

Would he be deceived? This upcoming auction was drawing widespread promotion and had roped in about half of the Federation’s senior forces; at such an elite event, unless one has a death wish, no one would dare try anything.

The concept of a network had existed in the Star Federation a hundred years ago, but unfortunately, the timeline when the Old Sword Saint visited the Star Federation was too distant; he only brought back the city defense system and some knowledge.

When the network finally came to be, the Old Sword Saint’s age no longer permitted him to journey vast distances to other Federations, and the other Legend could not leave the Federation for even a single step.

This resulted in each of the three Federations having distinct attributes, with the differences growing larger over time.

Baiyi listened to Sunu’s ideas, nodding repeatedly. Some of Sunu’s thoughts were ones Baiyi hadn’t considered, or rather were surplus to his current concept.

This Alchemy Magic Net of Baiyi’s was something that the player gods summarized and optimized based on the ideas of the Alchemy Sages.

Some players made modifications to it and received very high rewards, which left a lasting impression on Baiyi.

This Alchemist was very talented, especially in Technology. Of the seven rings on Sunu’s hand, three were Space Rings.

Knowledge in spatial studies of Alchemy Technology was even more expensive than taboo knowledge and could only be crafted by a Golden Alchemist.

Advanced items that Baiyi couldn’t make himself, but as long as the connections were established, everything would be negotiable.
