Chapter 78: Chapter 75: Call Me Boss

”My friend, what brings you to me?” Sabo asked with a broad smile, seemingly in a good mood.

Baiyi sensed a change in Sabo’s aura; he seemed even more mysterious now, giving him an elusive feeling.

Baiyi reached out to pat Luoning’s head and said, ”Take care of the shop; call Or if anything happens.”

With that, he began to walk out: ”Let’s go, Sabo. It’s not convenient to talk here.”

Sabo looked a bit surprised, and a gradual smile began to spread: ”Of course, my friend, I’ll go along with whatever you say.”

”Can you use the same teleportation array as last time?” Baiyi asked in a low voice.

Sabo shook his head decisively: ”No, my friend, if it’s not too far, we should just take a car.”

Baiyi nodded and stopped talking. The two of them walked to the end of the street, hailed a cab, and headed towards the Outer City District.

Sabo appeared thoughtful but didn’t ask much because there was a driver.

Time passed quickly, and they arrived at the city gate. Now, the snow outside had melted; it was mid-January and almost spring.

The sky was full of dark clouds, looking like it might rain.

As the crowd began to thin out, Sabo could hold back no longer: ”My friend, where are we going?”

He was a bit nervous; he didn’t feel safe outside the city because he lacked combat skills and was reluctant to leave the city.

”Don’t worry. I found a Bone Dragon contract, but it’s an equal pact, which is not ideal, so I came to see you,” Baiyi said with some helplessness. ”Plus, a Bone Dragon isn’t suitable for appearing in a city, at least not with an equal pact.”

Sabo’s eyes lit up, and he tightly followed Baiyi, heading towards a less populated area: ”My friend, I have something I want to discuss with you...”

”I need the Bone Dragon,” Baiyi declined without hesitation.

”But I could make it more valuable,” Sabo said, rubbing his hands together awkwardly. ”You can name your price.”

”It’s not for sale, but I can tell you about a Necromancer’s tomb that contains vast Power of Contract, and the place is connected to a Skeleton Lord,” Baiyi said directly.

”A Skeleton Lord?” Sabo’s eyes brightened further. Skeleton Lords are typically Golden Lower Tier, true powerhouses.

He was a bit excited: ”Really? Please tell me; I have some ideas I need to test.”

Baiyi smiled and said, ”Of course, we are on our way to the Undead Tomb right now, but I have two conditions.”

”Name them, my friend. As long as they’re not excessive, I can agree,” Sabo said without hiding his need.

Knowing each other well, Baiyi understood that though Sabo had many strange abilities, he was limited in combat power. With his level of contract skills, even a hint could guarantee him some strength.

Baiyi stopped, looked around, realizing no one would come by as outside the East City Gate lay a barren land that ordinary people dared not cross, and currently, no adventurers were around.

He thought for a moment before stating his terms: ”Help me modify the contract and give me your contract inheritance, at least part of it.”

Sabo appeared thoughtful and took about ten seconds before looking up sincerely, ”Besides the Undead Tomb, my friend, I also need a reward of five million gold coins.”

”Deal!”

Baiyi agreed without any hesitation. He had been eyeing this inheritance, especially the contractual ability, for a long time. Despite the absence of the God of Public Contracts in this world, contracts were still indispensable.

In the transactions among Transcendents, a contract could significantly reduce trouble. The concept of trust, when its existence is believed, is already a gamble.

During the Dark Age, rather than trust, people believed more in contracts with threats, especially involving things from other Dimensions. Without a contract, who would dare summon them?

Baiyi took out the Dawn Badge and transferred five million Contribution Points to Sabo.

Sabo accepted the Dawn Badge, his face lighting up with a joyful smile. He pressed his hands together, and a highly impure aura flickered, causing Baiyi to take two steps back.

A book gradually appeared in Sabo’s hands, black with intricate, eye-catching golden patterns, resembling some special runes or unreadable text.

Baiyi’s eyes flickered as he recognized the object.

Upon receiving the book, the panel confirmed his suspicion.

[You have obtained the Devil’s Contract Collection.]

Contracts involving devils were the pinnacle of contract manipulation among all races of the Ten Thousand Realms. Those who signed contracts with devils usually met unpleasant fates.

And Sabo’s inheritance... with ties to Evil Gods and Devils, seemed far-fetched.

”Alright, my friend, I think we should head to the Undead Tomb now,” Sabo said happily. To him, nothing was unsellable; for the right price, he could even provide you a piece of flesh from an Evil God that granted him his inheritance.

”First, help me modify the contract. I need a well-behaved Bone Dragon, and the journey to the Undead Tomb requires teleportation. If you don’t want to use it, I can give you the location, but it’s a bit far from here,” Baiyi said with a smile.

Sabo: ....

His expression was somewhat indescribable: ”My friend, you’re becoming craftier by the day.”

”Can’t be helped, but that place is only about a thousand kilometers from here; if you’re willing to spend some time, you can still make it. As travel expenses, I’ve left a few thousand pieces of Low Tier equipment for you on that mountain,” Baiyi said with a smile, without any consciousness of setting a trap.

Sabo hesitated a bit and then said, ”My friend, I still need some time to think it over.”

”Alright, let’s go first. There is a cabin ten kilometers away, with a teleportation array leading directly to the Undead Tomb,” Baiyi said, walking forward unhurriedly.

He began leafing through the ”Devil’s Contract Collection” in his hand. It’s quite fascinating, both knowledge and technique. Some contractual techniques should become skills, and could be fully developed with skill points.

However, becoming proficient enough with contracts to alter a signed one takes a vast amount of time, at least ten years unless he has a large number of skill points.

Both men were contemplating their next steps. The ten kilometers journey took an hour.

Dusk had fallen without them noticing, the golden hue of the sky made the surrounding even more desolate.

This time was enough for both to digest the recent occurrences.

As they approached the little cabin, Sabo finally spoke, ”My friend, give me the Bone Dragon contract. I should be able to help you modify it soon.”

A contract appeared instantly in front of Baiyi; he had no intention of touching it, controlling it to float in front of Sabo with his Spiritual Power.

”Ah, this kind of contract, that’s even simpler!” Sabo’s face lit up with his iconic sly grin, and an all-too-familiar dirty energy appeared in his hand.

He reached out and grabbed the contract, covering it in a terrifying twist of energy.

The undead script on it began to twist unnaturally; Baiyi could clearly see the originally thin layer of the contract suddenly developing a shadow.

Just like a piece of napkin, it seemed unchanged, but upon closer inspection, it was multilayered.

And on the top layer of the contract, the beautiful patterns from ”Devil’s Contract Collection” gradually filled the blank spaces.

As Sabo’s sly grin grew even stronger, a dragon roar seemingly from another dimension faintly echoed.

Baiyi rapidly flipped through the ”Devil’s Contract Collection” in hand, carefully comparing the patterns, then looked in awe.

Multi-layered contracts, negated contracts, altered contracts, secret contracts...

One profound energy form after another kept appearing, negating each clause of the equality contract above. Aside from the words ”Contract Signed,” all the dense content on the contract became invalid.

As those patterns slowly faded, merging with the paper of the contract, it returned to its original appearance, just slightly thicker.

Sabo stretched out his hand; the multi-layered contract appeared before Baiyi. He smirked and said, ”All done. In these hundred layers, each can host a restriction. Using the method I taught you earlier, you can modify it at will. Also, the notary has been changed to the Abyssal Consciousness. My friend, I must leave now.”

Sabo spoke, glancing around. Only that small cabin still bore the fluctuation of a teleportation array.

He dashed off eagerly into the cabin, activating the teleportation array within.

Buzz~

As the spatial fluctuation flickered by, Baiyi was left alone in this area, with a contract that had changed from black to scarlet.

Contracts of the undead are black, contracts of devils are purple, and contracts of the Abyss are red.

The constraints of the Abyssal Contracts are the greatest, as the Abyssal Consciousness accepts all; even the lords within the Abyss obey its commands.

Breach the contract, and await the descent of the Abyss’s army!

Baiyi looked at the contract in awe, putting the ”Devil’s Contract Collection” into his Space Ring. To catch up to Sabo’s current level would take him at least five years.

After some thought, Baiyi transformed his Spiritual Power into a brush, writing enthusiastically on the contract. Each word he wrote appeared on the first page of the contract and then slowly sunk in.

As he wrote, Baiyi’s expression grew more excited.

Once he had added all the restrictions he wanted, he pressed his hand onto it without hesitation.

[You have gained a permanent summoned creature, Bone Dragon Lord!]

”Roar~”

A powerful dragon roar echoed from another dimension, and the terrifying Dragon Power began to manifest in reality, making all beings tremble in fear.

Immediately after, the dimensional barriers were torn apart, and amidst the endless Undead aura, a gigantic head over ten meters in diameter emerged from the Netherworld Dimension.

The blue Soul Fire in its eye sockets blazed fiercely, and its body, over a hundred meters long, descended with an overwhelming sense of oppression.

It slowly lowered its head, and an ear-splitting voice resonated, ”Insignificant ant, where is my offering?”

Baiyi smiled and snapped his fingers. A huge scarlet eye appeared in the sky.

The ever-dignified Bone Dragon trembled all over, its voice changed, ”The Abyss? How is this possible?”

Boom!

A purple thunderbolt struck down from the Scarlet Eye of the Abyss, striking the Bone Dragon circling above harshly.

Boom!

The ground quaked as the Bone Dragon’s terrifying weight seemed to unleash a small earthquake.

Baiyi’s Spiritual Power surged, lifting his body into the air as he approached the dust-churning crater. ”Ant? Please, call me boss!”
