Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Because in the early stages of the Empire, there was a period of war-torn history.

At that time, a person unified the war-torn Earth and after unification declared himself emperor, turning the unified nation into the Human Empire.

Of course, this kind of retrograde behavior was soon ended.

But because of this, civil wars could break out again at any time.

So, just like the Empire now shifts its contradictions externally, a nominal democratic system with military power was thus born.

The ruling class’s approach was to use the gathered military power to expand, turning internal conflicts into external ones, which was also one of the causes of the last era of expansion.

Moreover, in the end, power is just another form of force, and in a world where individuals can surpass the power of groups, power is not really important—at least not for Chen Ming.

Therefore, Chen Ming doesn’t care about the situation of the Empire or what political system it has.

He only cares about himself and the people around him; the rest are insignificant.

Of course, what he ”cares about” can also include things that help him achieve what he wants to do.

Like fast-developing technology, for example.

Therefore, turmoil is definitely not what he wants to see.

Only internal stability and peace, combined with externally controlled wars, can allow a country to develop rapidly.

Chen Ming patted his head, throwing out these thoughts that were starting to wander again.

He needs to continue explaining his demands to the Insect Queen, allocating enough, modified Main Ships.

However, due to Chen Ming’s current limitation in spiritual energy, he cannot directly use his spiritual energy to assist in the control of the Main Ships.

He can only use his command skills to direct the Insect Race Fleet, just like commanding the Empire’s army.

Simply put, when Chen Ming originally controlled the Insect Race Fleet, he was playing a real-time strategy game.

And now, unable to control the Main Ships temporarily, the real-time strategy game has turned into a simulated military sand table.

The difficulty is not on a comparable level.

But at least Chen Ming learned the Legion’s university-level command skills with Bai Quan.

So he won’t be completely lost when his spiritual energy is unavailable due to certain restrictions.

He still has enough combat power.

Additionally, Chen Ming has another thought.

Why does he have to face problems alone?

He’s not the only one with brains who can find solutions.

Chen Ming turned back to the research institute.

He ran to the experimental lab he rented from the Legion.

Of course, calling it a lab is actually referring to a colony on a satellite within a star system near the main star system but closed off externally.

After all, involving the Phase Giant Beast and Main Ships requires an appropriate experimental venue.

And in this laboratory.

Chen Ming also arranged a place specifically for some important personnel involved in his Main Ships project.

When he returned at that moment, the directors of the Spiritual Ability Research Institute and the Ship Research Institute happened to be resting there.

Both directors greeted Chen Ming.

The director of the Spiritual Ability Research Institute instinctively asked Chen Ming as he personally returned to the Legion: ”Is the work done? Can you get busy again?”

”Not yet, actually it’s become more.”

”What happened?”

Chen Ming very preparedly placed two sensor recordings on the table showing the two giants he encountered inside and outside the wormhole.

Scavenger Robot and that creature in the Black Hole.

The directors, who were originally resting leisurely on the sofa, immediately sat up straight.

”What is this?”

”One is a giant robot left behind by the Shimmering Civilization, the other is suspected to be a creature from the Black Hole Dimension.”

The director of the Ship Research Institute casually asked: ”You can’t defeat them?”

”Do you think I need to fight that hunk of metal?”

”I understand, so I’m talking about the thing in the Black Hole.”

Chen Ming explained: ”I only dispatched two ships for reconnaissance, and both met their end there. I’m ready to cause trouble for it again.”

”However, Cruiser-level warships cannot cause effective damage, so I’m planning to test which weapon is effective against it.”

”Then I’ll eliminate it. So it won’t affect my work.”

”But I’m really unsure if the Main Ships can take it down, that’s why I’m here asking if the Empire has anything under research that I can borrow.”

The two directors exchanged a glance, and the Ship Research Institute director turned to Chen Ming and said: ”I’ll ask for you.”

”You really have something?”

”Uh... how should I put it...”

The director’s expression looked a bit awkward.

Chen Ming said again: ”Just say it.”

”It’s a model; back then the Mechanical Race wiped out their planets to counter your Insect Race invasion, right?”

”Mother Ships destroyed planetary landmasses and damaged planetary cores leading to the planet’s disintegration—this method is quite effective, even the Empire previously seemed to only use Main Ship weapons to cleanse the ground, right?”

”Yes, the Empire doesn’t really have a practical planet destruction weapon.”

”So someone proposed creating an efficient star-crushing weapon.”

Oh, now Chen Ming understood why both directors looked a bit awkward.

Because such a star-crushing weapon is fundamentally designed to target the Insect Race.

Then discussing weapons targeting the Insect Race in front of one of the external eyes of the Insect Race’s power controllers would be awkward.

”You aren’t keeping this from me?”

”Because this weapon can be used against dimensional infections, it isn’t possible to keep it secret from you.”
