**

In the Pill Region, there stood a city called Ye City.

This place belonged to one of the Five Great Clans of the Pill Region — the Ye Clan. Deep within the Ye Clan’s forbidden grounds lay a peculiar location known as the Sun Fire Ancient Altar.

It was a place of extreme yang and blazing heat. Due to certain special reasons, during daylight hours, the sunlight from above would gather and condense there.

At the center of the altar, there was a ground eye — a channel that extended deep underground. Occasionally, wisps of flames from the earth’s core would drift upward through it.

Whenever these flames from the earth’s core came into contact with the condensed sunlight above, they would merge and transform into a type of flame. This flame was known by the Ye Clan as Sun Flame.

Though not ranked among the Heavenly Flames, the Sun Flame was still far more powerful than any ordinary beast fire.

When refining pills, members of the Ye Clan often relied on this Sun Flame to increase both their refining efficiency and success rate. This Sun Flame was the very foundation of the Ye Clan’s standing as one of the Five Great Clans of the Pill Region.

The vast world was filled with countless wonders. The formation of this Sun Flame bore some similarities to that of the Heavenly Flames.

Unfortunately, this Sun Flame could not exist for long. As time passed, after it consumed all of its own energy, it would automatically dissipate.

Even so, the Sun Flame remained extremely alluring. Countless factions coveted Ye City, and what they truly desired was none other than the Sun Fire Ancient Altar within the Ye Clan.

In recent years, however, the Ye Clan had gradually declined, no longer as powerful as it had once been among the Five Great Clans of the Pill Region.

Currently, within the entire clan, the only alchemist to have reached the Tier 7 level was the Grand Elder, Ye Zhong.

With such strength, it was hardly enough for the Ye Clan to maintain its former status. If not for Xiao Yan’s assistance last time, they would likely have already been replaced and devoured by other powers.

Thus, the Ye Clan was now holding tightly onto Xiao Yan’s powerful thigh.

When it came to Wei Yang — Xiao Yan’s senior brother — and his son’s need to use the Sun Fire Ancient Altar for cultivation, the Ye Clan, of course, agreed without hesitation.

After all, the so-called forbidden ground depended entirely on who was asking.

Across a vast, lush plain stood a prosperous city.

This place wasn’t far from the Fallen God Stream, where Wei Yang and his group had once hunted the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast. For a Dou Zong-level expert, the journey between the two locations would take less than half a day.

The sky was clear and bright, a flawless mirror of blue hanging high above, reflecting the verdant plains below. At a certain moment, the space rippled slightly — and from within that ripple, a black figure stepped out.

Wei Yang stood in midair, his gaze sweeping toward Ye City in the distance as the wind brushed past him.

”I’m here.”

Departing from Falling Star Pavilion, it had taken him about three days to arrive, traveling at a steady pace without forcing his speed. Only then had he crossed the vast distance to reach Ye City.

His eyes briefly scanned the city that stood proudly upon the plain before focusing on its center, where he sensed a familiar aura. A faint smile curved on his lips as he took a single step forward.

His figure vanished from sight, reappearing above the city in the next instant. Another step brought him to the heart of Ye City — the Ye Clan estate. One more step, and he was already deep within its inner grounds.

Landing lightly, he followed the gravel-paved path that led deeper inside. Throughout the entire process, not a single member of the Ye Clan noticed Wei Yang’s arrival.

He couldn’t be bothered to announce himself or pay any formal visit — too troublesome.

Titles, etiquette, and respect only mattered between people of equal strength. With Wei Yang’s current status as a Ban Sheng, there were very few left in this world who could truly stand on equal footing with him.

After walking for a while, a secluded stone plaza came into view. At the center of that plaza stood an ancient-looking altar.

The massive stones used to build it were covered in the marks of time, clearly showing that this altar had existed for an incredibly long period.

As he moved closer, the light in the area grew noticeably brighter. The nearer he approached the altar, the more intense and pure the surrounding energy became. The air was filled with an overwhelming and righteous heat.

Beams of tangible light poured down from the heavens, reflecting off the smooth stone walls and converging upon a pitch-black stele at the altar’s center.

Immersed in this environment, Wei Yang felt the Dou Qi within his body stir slightly, becoming more active.

He casually reached out and grasped at the air. A strand of faint golden light was drawn into his hand, and from within it, he could sense a pure and scorching power of yang.

”What a rich and potent yang force.” Wei Yang smiled faintly.

Whoosh!

A figure draped in a black robe suddenly appeared. His aura was cold and oppressive — completely out of place in this blazing environment. He bowed respectfully, a trace of excitement in his voice. ”Master!”

The newcomer was none other than Ah Da.

It was noon, the time of day when yang energy burned at its peak. Every day at this hour, Ah Da would guard the perimeter of the ancient altar to prevent any accidents or interruptions to the young master’s cultivation.

”Mm.” Wei Yang nodded slightly. His eyes swept over Ah Da as he spoke casually, ”You’ve reached the Two-Change. Not bad.”

”Heh heh, all thanks to you, Master,” Ah Da chuckled, slipping in a small flattery.

To have advanced to the Two-Change within just over three years was already an impressive pace. As for resources, most of them came from the storage rings once owned by the late Eighth and Ninth Tian Zuns.

Wei Yang had no use for those items himself, so he simply gifted them to Ah Da. Of course, Ah Da also had his own accumulated wealth, supplemented by resources provided by Falling Star Pavilion and the two master alchemists, Xian’er and Yao Lao.

With all that combined, it wasn’t surprising that Ah Da could break through to the Two-Change in such a short time.

For those at the Dou Zun Nine-Change level, apart from the soul reaching the Spirit Realm, resources accounted for the majority of one’s advancement.

Without a vast supply of energy and materials to support the process, all one could do was endure the long grind of slow accumulation.

”Master, you...” Ah Da’s eyes widened in shock as he faintly sensed a trace of divine might radiating from Wei Yang’s body — an aura belonging only to the realm of Saints.

”There’s been some progress,” Wei Yang replied with a small smile.

”Congratulations, Master! Truly congratulations! Your talent is beyond compare — absolutely unmatched!” Ah Da said excitedly.

”Enough with the bootlicking. It’s just Ban Sheng, nothing to fuss about.” Wei Yang laughed and scolded lightly, though his tone was relaxed.

”Even a Ban Sheng is still a Saint! Besides, with your talent, Master, reaching full Saint is only a matter of time,” Ah Da said earnestly.

That was no empty flattery — he truly meant it.

After all, Ah Da had accompanied Wei Yang through his entire rise to power, witnessing every step firsthand. With his experience, he had never seen — nor even heard of — anyone like Wei Yang.

”Keep watch here,” Wei Yang ordered with a wave of his hand. He then stepped forward into the stone plaza.

”Yes, Master.” Ah Da bowed slightly, then flickered away, perching atop a massive tree outside the plaza. Sitting cross-legged, he slowly closed his eyes.

From noon onward, the young master would train inside the ancient altar for roughly an hour each day — and it wasn’t quite time yet.
