In front of the main hall atop the main peak.

A few towering ancient trees grew tall and majestic, their crowns spreading wide like great parasols. Wei Yang descended slowly, and when his eyes caught sight of the scene ahead, a gentle smile appeared on his face.

Under the shade of one of the large trees stood two exquisitely beautiful little girls, their delicate faces like carved jade, hands clasped together, tilting their little heads curiously as they looked at Wei Yang.

One wore a white dress, the other a pink one. Both were very young, around six or seven years old, though the one in white seemed even smaller—perhaps only four or five. At this moment, they were staring at him with those wide, dark eyes.

Wei Yang looked back at them with a soft smile on his face. The slightly older girl in pink—without even needing to rely on the connection of their shared blood—Wei Yang immediately recognized her. She was his daughter, Wei Shuo.

More than three years had passed, and the child had grown quite a bit. Her appearance had changed a lot too, though her features still carried traces of her younger self. As for the little girl in white—there was no need to guess—she was his future daughter-in-law, Xiao Xiao.

”Are you... daddy?” The pink-clothed girl stared at Wei Yang for a long while before finally asking timidly.

Wei Yang took a gentle step forward, came before them, knelt down, and reached out to softly rub her little head. He nodded with a warm smile. ”Mm, I’m daddy. Daddy’s home.”

Hearing that, the pink-clothed girl pursed her lips. Her eyes reddened, and faint mist began to blur her vision.

Seeing this, Wei Yang’s heart instantly clenched tight. He quickly pulled her into his arms and began softly comforting her, ”Shh, be good, don’t cry, don’t cry. It’s daddy’s fault, all daddy’s fault.”

”Wuuu... daddy, I missed you so much... bad daddy, you’re a bad daddy! I won’t talk to you anymore, wuuu...” Wei Shuo buried herself into Wei Yang’s chest, her tiny arms wrapped tightly around his neck as if afraid he might suddenly disappear.

Her tears fell in large drops like pearls, rolling down her cheeks as she sobbed miserably. Her crying nearly shattered Wei Yang’s heart, and he hurriedly tried to calm her down, clumsily coaxing and soothing her.

At the side, little Xiao Xiao, seeing her playmate crying, pouted. Then, without warning, her own tears began to fall as she started wailing as well.

”Ah! No, no, don’t—” Wei Yang’s scalp tingled as he quickly pulled her into his arms too, his voice gentle and pleading. ”My little ancestor, please, don’t cry, don’t cry.”

Not far away, several figures appeared quietly, smiling as they watched this scene unfold. Leading them was Yao Lao, who stroked his beard with a grin.

Though his two precious grand-disciples crying made his heart ache a little, seeing Wei Yang so utterly flustered brought him great satisfaction. That panicked look on Wei Yang’s face—it made Yao Lao want to laugh out loud.

After all these years, this was the first time he had ever seen Wei Yang looking so helpless. Standing beside him were Qing Lin, Feng Zun Zhe, and... Medusa.

At that moment, Medusa’s face was expressionless, her long, narrow eyes narrowed sharply as she glared daggers at Wei Yang, hatred practically radiating from her. Her fingers twitched slightly—she almost couldn’t stop herself from attacking.

That shameless bastard!

Back then, when she had suddenly heard from Xiao Yan that her precious daughter—her very life—had already been betrothed to someone, Medusa had been struck as though by thunder. It was as if the heavens had collapsed.

Furious beyond measure, she had chased Xiao Yan all the way across the Tagore Desert before finally calming down. In Medusa’s heart, the most important thing in the world was her daughter—even more important than her own life.

How could she not be enraged when she heard such devastating news?

Now, the other party involved in that old engagement was standing right in front of her. If not for Yao Lao’s presence, Medusa might have already attacked. Wei Yang’s strength? She didn’t care. She had reason on her side, and she didn’t believe he would dare fight back.

That scoundrel!

Judging by the time when the engagement was made, Xiao Xiao had barely been born!

She had suffered so much for this child. Before her daughter was even out of her cradle, her heartless father had already arranged her marriage!

No—according to what she’d heard, back when Xiao Yan and Wei Yang were still in the Black-Corner Region, on their way back to the Jia Ma Empire to deal with the Yun Lan Sect, they had already made that ridiculous bet behind her back.

At that time, she’d been traveling with them—completely unaware of what they were doing! And Xiao Xiao had already been in her belly then!

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Seeing Wei Yang now only reignited all that fury.

Beside her, Qing Lin noticed the look in her eyes and quickly moved closer, grabbing Medusa’s hand that was already twitching to strike. She whispered softly, ”Sister Medusa...”

Medusa closed her eyes and took several deep breaths before finally managing to suppress the raging fire in her chest. She stood there cold-faced and silent.

Qing Lin, sharing the same Snake-People bloodline, had always been someone Medusa felt rather close to. At the side, Yao Lao and Feng Zun Zhe both pretended they hadn’t seen anything. Neither dared to make a sound.

This matter—yeah, best not to get involved. Two old bones like them couldn’t handle that kind of trouble. Wei Yang finally managed to calm down the two little girls after much effort. He took out a handkerchief and carefully wiped away their tears, speaking softly to them as he did.

From the side, Yao Lao and the others were still watching with amusement. Of course, Wei Yang noticed. But instead of acknowledging them, he deliberately turned his body slightly, showing them his back.

Because Medusa’s gaze from that direction was simply too terrifying—it sent chills running straight down his spine. At a time like this, only a fool would try to provoke that crazy woman. For now, he’d better keep his distance and wait until her anger cooled down a little.

After all, Wei Yang really was in the wrong this time. He’d basically ”stolen” someone’s daughter to be his daughter-in-law—so it was best to stay humble for the moment.

Just yield to her for now.

As Wei Yang chatted with the two little girls, it wasn’t long before he had them giggling nonstop, quickly bridging the distance between them.

He took out a few shiny, colorful gems and placed them in their tiny hands, making up a random story as he went. He told them how he had bravely defeated an evil dragon that had been terrorizing countless villages, and these gems were treasures he’d taken from the dragon’s lair.

The two girls’ eyes sparkled as they listened, completely captivated, occasionally letting out excited little gasps of awe. The heartwarming scene even softened Medusa’s expression slightly, and the anger in her heart began to ease—if only a little.

When his story came to an end and the timing felt right, Wei Yang finally stood up and led the two little ones toward Yao Lao and the others. Feng Zun Zhe secretly winked at Wei Yang and even gave him a discreet thumbs-up.

Qing Lin also threw him a meaningful glance. Wei Yang returned their looks with a silent exchange of amusement. He came to stand before Yao Lao.

”Master, I’m back,” Wei Yang said with a smile.

”Mm, this time you’ve been gone quite a while. You finally decided to come back.” Yao Lao stroked his graying beard, his eyes full of satisfaction and warmth. ”But, it seems your trip was well worth it. To think you’ve already reached Ban Sheng.”

As he spoke, even he couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.

Wei Yang’s progress was absurdly fast. His potential seemed endless—so deep that even Yao Lao couldn’t see the bottom. It was one thing back when he was a Dou Zun, but even after that, his growth rate never slowed. It was as if there were no bottlenecks at all.

Yao Lao had watched Wei Yang grow from his weakest stage, so he knew him inside and out. The boy didn’t possess any special physique or extraordinary bloodline. Yet his speed of advancement was more exaggerated than even Xian’er or Qing Lin, both of whom had unique constitutions.

”What? Ban Sheng?!” Feng Zun Zhe and the others stared at Wei Yang in disbelief, waves of shock surging through their hearts.

He’d reached Ban Sheng already?!

It had only been a short trip out!

That was Ban Sheng!

”I came across a bit of fortune this time, so I was lucky enough to break through,” Wei Yang said with a modest nod and smile.

”Lucky, huh...” The few of them were speechless.

Even Medusa couldn’t help but roll her silver eyes, her expression nearly cracking.
