”The legendary multicolored Pill Lightning!”

As the four-colored thunderclouds churned violently across the heavens, every alchemist present stared upward, their faces filled with awe and devotion. This kind of Pill Lightning was something that most alchemists could only dream of witnessing, let alone summon in their lifetime.

”Four-colored Pill Lightning!”

Fa Ma, Hai Bodong, Jia Xingtian, Qie Mi Er, and several other old veterans all gazed up at the sky, their expressions filled with emotion. More than two years ago, Xiao Yan had publicly refined a Tier 8 pill and summoned multicolored Pill Lightning as well.

Now, Wei Yang was doing the same—right before their eyes. It was a spectacle they would remember for the rest of their lives. Looking at that black-robed figure sitting calmly below, they couldn’t help but feel pride swell within them.

This was the pride of the Jia Ma Empire.

Rumble...Crack!

Thunder roared as the massive thunderclouds twisted violently.

Then suddenly, the clouds split open with a deafening tear, and from within, a colossal bolt of four-colored Pill Lightning, hundreds of meters wide, descended like a waterfall of thunder, crashing toward Wei Yang under countless horrified gazes.

Everywhere it passed, the very void was shredded apart, leaving behind a gaping black rift that stretched across the sky.

Such terrifying power!

Fa Ma and the others held their breath, their eyes fixed on Wei Yang, faint traces of anxiety flickering within them. Back then, Xiao Yan had relied on a dark-gold puppet to endure the full force of the multicolored Pill Lightning—but how would Wei Yang deal with it?

Wei Yang slowly lifted his head.

His calm gaze rose to meet the descending Pill Lightning, a thunderous serpent tearing through the heavens toward him. Then, he opened his mouth. Within that mouth gleamed sharp, ivory fangs. His eyes turned pitch-black, twin dark suns emerging in their depths.

High above, a vast, shadowy phantom took shape—an enormous, abyssal maw—appearing silently in the air before solidifying into terrifying reality. Within that gaping abyss, a swirling vortex of gray energy spun rapidly, rising to meet the falling thunder.

Hiss!

The two forces collided—yet that overwhelmingly destructive Pill Lightning vanished instantly, as though a pebble had been thrown into the ocean, leaving not even the faintest ripple.

”...”

Everyone froze.

The sight before them was so surreal that their minds went blank. Even the thunderclouds above seemed... confused. They rolled and churned uncertainly, lightning flickering inside—part furious, part hesitant.

But the abyssal maw paid no heed.

It expanded again, wider and wider—until it became a true, sky-swallowing mouth. A terrifying suction erupted from within, locking onto the entire mass of thunderclouds before pulling violently.

Rumble...

The massive storm clouds, as if caught in a reverse waterfall, were dragged downward in a swirling torrent—drawn completely into that devouring maw until not a wisp remained. Moments later, the Sky-Devouring Mouth snapped shut, then slowly faded from sight.

Below, Wei Yang closed his mouth as well.

A thin arc of lightning crackled from the corner of his lips—only for his tongue to flick out and draw it back in. His expression carried a faint trace of satisfaction, as though still savoring the taste. That bit of energy? He could probably digest it before he even finished a sigh.

The world fell utterly silent.

Everyone stood frozen, mouths agape, trembling from head to toe.

That gigantic maw—had it really just devoured the entire thundercloud? Right in front of their eyes?

Some even rubbed their eyes, convinced they were hallucinating. Then they looked again at the black-robed figure still calmly sitting on the plaza. Their knees went weak. Many nearly collapsed to the ground.

Even the heavens themselves seemed stunned. The sky hung still and silent for several long moments, as though unsure how to respond. Even the black rift left behind by the lightning healed more sluggishly than usual, as if reality itself had been shaken.

You’re overdoing it, the heavens seemed to mutter.

I only gathered the lightning clouds to follow the procedure—just a little ceremony. And you... you went and ate the whole thing?

Isn’t that bullying the honest ones?

With that unspoken thought, the dark clouds began to disperse. The gloom vanished in the blink of an eye.

The sky cleared once more.

Warm sunlight spilled across the land, illuminating every corner of the world. The torn fabric of space quickly healed, leaving no trace of what had happened. Everything seemed to return to peace. Yet as the sunlight touched the crowd below, none of them felt its warmth.

Instead, a chill ran down their spines, their scalps tingling with lingering fear. Countless uneasy gazes quietly shifted toward the black figure sitting in the center of the square. That terrifying scene still lingered vividly in everyone’s minds—

The kind of thunder that could reduce a Dou Zong to ashes, the vast sea of lightning that could shatter the heavens—all of it, devoured by a single man’s mouth. If it weren’t seen with their own eyes, no one would have believed it even if they were beaten to death.

Was this really something a human could do?

That was the power of heaven and earth itself!

What kind of terrifying existence was this?!

Our Yang Yan Alliance Master... was actually this powerful?

Wei Yang waved his hand, and the lid of the cauldron automatically lifted. A streak of rainbow light shot out like lightning, bursting forth from within. It tried to flee toward the heavens.

”Hm?” Wei Yang didn’t even lift his eyelids. He only made a soft sound of acknowledgment.

The rainbow light froze midair, then trembled as if terrified before slowly flying back. It hovered in front of Wei Yang. As the glow faded, a perfectly round pill appeared, spinning rapidly. It seemed both fearful and eager to please — brimming with spiritual intelligence.

Wei Yang reached out, pinched the pill between his fingers, dropped it into a jade bottle, casually sealed it, and tossed it into his storage ring.

”Alliance Master mighty!”

No one knew who shouted it first. But the next moment, a thunderous roar of cheers erupted across the entire area.

”Alliance Master mighty~!”

The wave of cheers surged up like a tidal wave, echoing across the sky and refusing to fade.

Everyone — whether alchemist or warrior — had flushed faces and fervent gazes locked on Wei Yang. Today, they had not only witnessed the birth of an eighth-grade pill with their own eyes but also beheld an unimaginable, transcendent being.

That kind of effortless, world-devouring power was beyond comprehension. This awe-inspiring being... was their leader!

Wei Yang smiled faintly, stood up, waved to collect the cauldron, and then pressed his palm downward. At once, the entire place fell silent.

”I’ll say a few words.”

Wei Yang spoke slowly, his voice not loud but resonating clearly in everyone’s ears. ”I am Wei Yang, the leader of the Yang Yan Alliance.”

”Perhaps you all think I’m very powerful? Hmm, I guess I’m... passable. But don’t grow conceited. Let me tell you, this world is vast — and there are countless beings stronger than me.”

”So in the future, act with humility and caution. Never be arrogant or lawless.”

”Of course, that doesn’t mean we’re pushovers. We won’t provoke others, but we won’t fear trouble either. In short: if others do not offend us, we will not offend them. But if anyone offends us — we will repay a hundredfold!”

”Train well. When your cultivation reaches Dou Zong, if you wish to venture into Central Plains, you may go to the Falling Star Pavilion. That too, is our territory.”

”I’ve said my piece. Do you understand?”

”Understood!” everyone roared in unison, faces flushed with excitement.

So the Yang Yan Alliance also had influence and territory in the Central Plains! Falling Star Pavilion — one of the Four Pavilions!

Many among them had heard that name before. Wei Yang nodded slightly and was about to leave.

Just then, a bold young man raised his hand nervously and asked, ”Alliance Master, may I ask... are you one of the legendary Dou Sheng powerhouses?”

As soon as the question fell, everyone looked at the youth in surprise — yet also full of anticipation, waiting for Wei Yang’s answer. Wei Yang glanced at the young man and smiled. Then, in the blink of an eye, his figure vanished.

”I can only be considered Ban Sheng.”

Only that faint voice lingered in the air, echoing in everyone’s ears. The crowd was silent for a moment — then exploded into uproar.

Ban Sheng? What did that mean?

Everyone began to discuss excitedly, faces flushed with disbelief and awe. The lucky young man who’d received Wei Yang’s answer just stood there, his mind buzzing, his whole body trembling with excitement.

The Alliance Master — he actually answered my question! He spoke to me! He spoke to me — and even smiled at me!

”Ban Sheng...”

Hai Bodong and the others exchanged looks, all drawing in sharp breaths.

Waves of shock surged in their hearts. Unlike the ordinary members, these core elders of the alliance naturally knew far more than the rest.

”Ban Sheng, huh...” Fa Ma murmured softly to himself.
