”This breakthrough used up those two Ban Sheng Fire Beads, and twenty of the Ban Sheng Bone Marrows. Ten remain.”

Gathering his thoughts, Wei Yang took a moment to organize his remaining spoils. Ten pieces of Ban Sheng Bone Marrow left. The Dragon Emperor Blood Crystal—still holding about half of its energy.

Once he stabilized his current realm, using up these leftover resources might allow him to advance to mid-tier Ban Sheng, though likely not quite enough. But that was something to think about later.

In just three years, he had leapt from peak Nine-Star Dou Zun straight into the Ban Sheng realm. Such a massive leap definitely required time to settle and consolidate. As for now—

Wei Yang turned his hand over and produced an ancient-looking black iron scroll that seemed plain at first glance. Lowering his head, he gently brushed his thumb across it, feeling the rough texture and engraved patterns along its surface.

This black iron scroll—he had obtained it many years ago, back when he first arrived at the Tagore Desert in search of the Green Lotus Core Flame.

He’d traded a few Low-Level Xuan Grade cultivation technique and Dou Techniques to a group of mercenaries for it. According to those mercenaries, this object had been found beneath an altar in the ruins of some ancient underground city.

The scroll had always been shrouded in mystery. Over the years, Wei Yang had never managed to open it. No matter how much soul force he sent into it, it vanished like stones sinking into the sea—without a single ripple.

Nearly twenty years had passed since it came into his possession, yet he still hadn’t uncovered its secrets.

”Now that my soul has reached mid-stage Heaven Realm, and my cultivation has stepped into Ban Sheng, I should be able to open you... right?” Wei Yang murmured, his gaze deep as he stared at the scroll in his hands.

Then, he took a slow, steady breath. From between his brows surged a vast current of soul force—majestic, vibrant with vitality and spiritual strength—rushing into the black iron scroll. As the soul power poured in—

This time, Wei Yang finally sensed something different. That feeling of bottomless emptiness vanished. His perception broke through some invisible barrier, entering a strange and unknown place.

In an instant, a wave of desolation and deathly stillness washed over him.

Wei Yang froze for a moment, then quickly gathered his dispersed soul power, condensing it into a humanoid form. Only then did he cautiously begin to ”look” around.

His heart was half-thrilled, half-alert, as he carefully probed his surroundings. Soon, he discovered that this was an immensely vast and strange space—but it was utterly empty. No mountains, no light, no sound.

It was as if deathly silence and desolation were the only themes that existed here. And then—a deep, majestic voice suddenly echoed through the vastness, reverberating endlessly in all directions.

”You have finally come, descendant.”

Hm?

Wei Yang’s heart jolted, and he immediately turned his senses toward the direction of the voice.

At the very center of that immense void—something appeared out of nothingness: a faint golden sphere of light. It hung there in midair like a miniature sun. In the blink of an eye, blinding brilliance erupted from its surface, radiating out in all directions.

Wei Yang’s soul manifestation hastily turned its head away and shielded its perception. Even so, his mind still grew hazy and unfocused under that radiance.

The light wasn’t scorching or painful, yet it was upright, solemn, and righteous—an illumination that carried an unshakable sense of divine authority.

Bathed beneath that glow, Wei Yang felt an inexplicable weakness rise from within—a sense that he could not resist, an instinct to kneel, to worship.

”Tch... again with this kind of trick?” Wei Yang’s expression darkened, though he didn’t panic.

After all, what had entered here was only a fragment of his soul. At worst, he could abandon it. Forcing his soul power to stabilize himself, he narrowed his eyes and looked toward that golden sun.

Hm?

The golden light began to recede, drawing inward. Within it, something stirred—

A towering, majestic figure slowly took form inside the radiant sun. That figure radiated an overwhelming presence—an aura vast and boundless, like the sun shining upon all creation, sweeping away all darkness and evil.

It seemed to carry infinite, unmatched power. For a moment, it felt as though the entire world trembled, submitting beneath its feet.

Just by standing there, this being seemed able to dominate all, suppress all. The sheer weight of its existence made Wei Yang’s soul tremble involuntarily. Wherever its gaze swept, the desolation and death that once filled this place retreated and vanished.

The sky above shone with soft golden light, spreading warmth and life across the endless, barren expanse. This kind of light, when it shone on a person, felt warm and comfortable.

”This... another Dou Di?!” Wei Yang narrowed his eyes, his heart filled with awe.

”Young one, for you to come here and meet me, that too, is fate.”

From within the faint golden sun, the being’s gaze seemed to fall upon him. That vast, majestic voice slowly echoed across the endless space.

”Junior Wei Yang, greets the Emperor!” The figure condensed from Wei Yang’s soul power slightly bowed, showing his respect.

”Wei Yang, I have waited for too long... far too long.”

As the golden radiance receded, the great sun disappeared, revealing the figure within.

It was a dignified middle-aged man, clad in a faint-golden imperial robe embroidered with radiant sun patterns. It was as if he had slumbered for countless years before slowly opening those gentle, warm eyes that seemed to contain endless light.

Looking at him felt like gazing directly at the blazing sun hanging high in the heavens. Though his light felt warm, if one stared too long, their eyes would sting, forcing them to look away.

He lowered his head slightly, quietly gazing down at Wei Yang.

After a moment, his eyes flickered with a strange brilliance, and his voice carried a tone of intrigue. ”You... you feel strange to me. Human... yet also a magic beast? You carry both the power of destruction and of life within you. How mysterious.”

Under that pair of eyes filled with infinite light, Wei Yang felt as if every inch of him had been laid bare.

The man before him—this unknown Emperor—was likely but a thought left behind from endless ages past, yet his strength was unfathomable.

Even so, Wei Yang remained calm. Although this was his first time encountering one of the legendary Emperors, the being before him was merely a remnant thought.

Such a being surely wouldn’t bother leaving a wisp of consciousness behind just to harm later generations. So, there shouldn’t be a problem.

”Reporting to the Emperor, this junior is human. I only merged with the blood essence of the Ancient Magic Beast Hou. As for the powers of destruction and life, those were gained from fusing different Heavenly Flames.” Wei Yang bowed slightly as he explained.

”Fusing two Heavenly Flames with opposing attributes into one body, is it?” The towering figure nodded faintly.

In the eyes of an existence like him, such a feat was nothing remarkable—certainly not worth surprise. After all, even someone like Xiao Xuan, a Half-Step Dou Di, could manipulate three Heavenly Flames with ease.

”From your body, I can sense a Yang aura. One of your Heavenly Flames bears the attribute of Yang and Destruction. You once walked the path of Yang’s Destruction, did you not? But after obtaining the power of life, you changed your path?” The majestic figure’s tone carried a hint of regret.

”The Path of Yang’s Destruction is somewhat close to my own—the Path of Pure Yang and Radiance. But now that you follow the Path of Life and Death—Destruction and Creation—you’ve strayed quite far from mine.”

”So the Emperor walks the Path of Pure Yang and Radiance?” Wei Yang’s brows lifted slightly, secretly thinking, As expected.

No wonder that blazing golden sun had appeared upon his arrival. So, it was the manifestation of the Path of Pure Yang and Radiance.

Wei Yang smiled slightly. ”Everyone chooses their own way. A thousand paths may differ, but they all lead to the same end.”

”Indeed. Each has their own pursuit. Once you’ve chosen your path, walk it without wavering. Every Emperor has their own way, and naturally, their strength varies as well.”

The majestic being nodded. ”I was born with a Pure Yang body. Thus, I ultimately ascended through the Path of Pure Yang and Radiance.

Among the Emperors, my combat power could be considered upper mid-tier. However, my recovery ability is among the best of them all. As long as there is light, I have an endless source of energy.”

”Indeed.” Wei Yang nodded silently.

For one who cultivated the Path of Pure Yang and Radiance, as long as he stood beneath sunlight, his recovery would naturally be astonishing.

Even under moonlight or starlight, his regeneration would likely still be significant. After all, moonlight and starlight were still light, weren’t they?

”Therefore, you may address me as... Light Emperor!” the majestic figure said.

”Greetings, Light Emperor!” Wei Yang bowed solemnly.

To one who once stood at the very peak of the Dou Qi Continent, Wei Yang showed genuine respect.
