**

As the core essence of the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame drifted farther from its main body, it seemed to faintly realize what was happening.

Suddenly, it began to violently resist.

Boom!

The black sun, now stripped of its essence, erupted completely!

Black flames surged forth, expanding rapidly. In an instant, the entire mountaintop was engulfed in raging fire.

Whoosh—

The temperature at the peak skyrocketed.

At the same time, the black sun’s radiance burst forth in full intensity.

A brilliant black sun rose at the summit of the hill, its glow eclipsing the moon in the sky.

From a distance, the spectacle was breathtaking—at the edge of the horizon, a blazing black sun slowly ascended, seemingly standing parallel to the bright full moon.

A miraculous phenomenon unfolded in the desert night—sun and moon coexisting in the same sky!

One was a blazing black sun, the other a luminous silver moon, locked in a silent yet majestic contest of radiance.

This extraordinary sight left one in absolute awe!

The black light spread outward, enveloping a radius of several miles around the black sun, completely consuming everything within its domain.

Inside this territory, all other light vanished, devoured entirely by the overwhelming black radiance.

Even the moonlight was unable to penetrate this domain.

This was the absolute domain of the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame—no other source of light could exist within its presence. Any foreign glow would either be assimilated, expelled, or annihilated.

And the temperature continued to climb!

”It’s starting!”

At the entrance of the cave dwelling, Xian’er, having experienced this once before, was already prepared.

Moments before the black sun’s eruption, she had swiftly shielded Qing Lin behind her. A gray-white Dou Qi barrier materialized around them, resisting the invasion of the black radiance.

Even though they could no longer see anything, neither of them retreated into the cave.

Instead, they stood their ground, eyes closed, silently facing the distant location where Wei Yang was.

”Brother Yang...”

”Young Master...”

Even though he had mentally prepared for this, Wei Yang was still shocked by the sheer destructive power of the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame’s sudden eruption.

This level of power—it was comparable to a Dou Huang!

”Is this... a desperate counterattack before death?”

”Seriously?”

”I spent an entire year carefully nurturing a bond with you, and now you’re turning on me like this?”

For a Heavenly Flame with low intelligence, this little creature sure had a volatile temper—prone to explosive tantrums at the slightest provocation.

Always going all out with zero warning!

Wei Yang quickly summoned a layer of black flames around his body, forming a protective barrier.

At this moment, the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame had gone completely berserk—he couldn’t afford to be careless anymore.

After all, the flame had now entered an indiscriminate attack mode, treating everything as its enemy.

Soon, Wei Yang noticed that the black flames enveloping his body were trembling slightly.

This reaction wasn’t surprising—he had anticipated it.

His flames were merely sub-flames, and only at the peak Dou Ling level. When confronted with the main flame, submission was inevitable.

Not to mention, the main flame was in an unleashed state, fully awakened!

However, thanks to Wei Yang’s formidable Dou Qi, his sub-flames could still barely hold their ground, maintaining their protective barrier around his body.

Even so, cold sweat began to bead on Wei Yang’s forehead.

”Damn... This thing is just reacting on instinct, yet it already has power comparable to a Dou Huang?!”

”And it already possesses the ability to incinerate everything it touches... Even a Dou Huang expert would have to be extremely cautious when dealing with it!”

He shuddered involuntarily.

”Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame... so this is your true power?!”

At this moment, Wei Yang was filled with a mix of emotions—shock, excitement, frustration, and apprehension.

He was thrilled because the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame’s full potential had far exceeded his expectations.

With time, once fully refined—its power would only grow even more terrifying!

Wei Yang couldn’t help but feel a headache and unease—would devouring this flame get him killed?

He suddenly recalled the original story, where Xiao Yan, as just a Dou Shi, dared to devour the Green Lotus Core Flame—and succeeded!

The corner of his mouth twitched.

That was some serious protagonist-level plot armor!

Then, looking at the flame before him, he couldn’t help but feel a little bitter.

Although this was only an infant flame, now that it had fully erupted, it was already far more violent than a fully matured Green Lotus Core Flame!

”Screw it!” Wei Yang gritted his teeth. ”I’ve come this far—how could I back down now?”

He reassured himself,

”Thankfully, it’s still just a young flame with low intelligence, like a newborn, completely blank. If it had already grown into the Falling Heart Flame from the Jia Nan Inner Academy—fierce, cunning, and highly intelligent—who would be devouring whom right now would be hard to say!”

Feeling somewhat relieved, Wei Yang took a deep breath and shook his head, pushing unnecessary thoughts aside.

”Go ahead—explode all you want. The more energy you waste, the easier it’ll be for me later.”

His soul power surged out, firmly suppressing the fist-sized core essence of the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame, preventing it from returning to its main body—the raging black sun in the sky.

As for the flame’s outburst, he had no intention of stopping it.

Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t.

So, he might as well let it burn itself out.

The energy consumption required to maintain its domain over several miles was no small matter.

And since it was nighttime, with the desert air cold and dry, there was no sun or fire-attribute energy to replenish it.

The more it burned now, the less he’d have to struggle later, and the higher his chances of success.

Wei Yang opened a jade bottle and took out a Blood Lotus Essence Pill.

Instantly, a strange medicinal fragrance filled the air.

Upon inhaling, a cool sensation spread through his body, making his soul tremble slightly.

Staring at the Tier 5 pill, Wei Yang opened his mouth and swallowed it whole.

The moment the Blood Lotus Essence Pill entered his mouth, it dissolved instantly, transforming into a chilling energy that swiftly surged into his meridians.

Like a layer of blood-red membranes, it seeped into his bones and muscles, forming a protective barrier.

As this energy integrated into his body, a shocking transformation began.

His body shuddered violently, and thin streams of blood seeped out from every pore on his skin.

In the blink of an eye, he was drenched in a layer of fresh blood, looking like a demonic blood warrior—a terrifying sight.

However, the blood-like substance quickly solidified, forming a tough, blood-colored keratin layer.

It wasn’t just his body—even his eyes were completely sealed under the blood-red armor.

Like an impenetrable blood cocoon, it completely encased him in defense.

Wei Yang slowly raised his blood-covered hand, aiming it at the fist-sized flame essence, which was still trembling and resisting under his soul power’s restraint.

With a single thought, a massive suction force erupted from his palm.

Whoosh!

The flame essence was instantly pulled toward his hand, landing directly in his palm.

The moment he grasped it, Wei Yang felt like he was back to being an ordinary person, clutching a piece of searing-hot molten iron.

Even with the protective blood armor, he could clearly feel the terrifying heat radiating from the flame essence in his grip!

Sizzle!

White smoke billowed from his palm, filling the air with the scorching scent of burning flesh.

The blood armor covering his hand began melting rapidly, dripping like scarlet liquid, evaporating before even touching the ground.

But at the same time, new layers of blood energy continuously emerged, reconstructing the armor over and over again.

Through the blood-sealed eyes, Wei Yang’s gaze remained locked onto the flame essence in his palm.

The flame trembled slightly—as if it was both whimpering and struggling.

Wei Yang gently soothed it one last time.

Then—clenching his jaw—he suddenly tilted his head back, opened his mouth wide, and shoved the terrifying flame essence straight into his throat.

The Devouring of the Heavenly Flame—began!
