Xiao Yan, who had been acting like an invisible bystander, was completely dumbfounded. He sucked in a sharp breath, his body trembling uncontrollably.

This Woeful Poison Body... is actually this terrifying?!

Leaning against a tree trunk, his legs weakened beneath him, and he felt as if he were trapped in the eye of a storm. The oppressive aura from the two men bore down on him like an unrelenting tempest.

He couldn’t help but shout, ”Senior! Master Wei! Could you both hear me out for a moment?”

The two turned their gazes toward him.

Xiao Yan forced a wry smile. ”How about both of you withdraw your auras first? Do you really intend to start fighting here?”

Yao Lao huffed, stroking his beard. ”It was this Brat Wei who wanted to attack me first.”

Xiao Yan then looked at Wei Yang.

Wei Yang chuckled and withdrew his aura, cupping his hands. ”Apologies, Senior, I was too impulsive.”

Yao Lao gave a disdainful snort but also withdrew his aura—though he couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.

Releasing one’s aura wasn’t without cost—it was quite a drain!

With the overwhelming pressure gone, Xiao Yan let out a long breath and wiped the sweat from his forehead. His entire body was drenched, as if he had just been pulled out of the water.

”Brat Wei, if you want to ask a question, then act like it! Is this how you ask for guidance?” Yao Lao glared at Wei Yang.

These young people... They have no respect for their elders!

Wei Yang bowed slightly, cupping his hands. ”I apologize. I was just too agitated earlier... After all, Senior wanted to kill the person most important to me and even expected me to go along with it...”

Xiao Yan’s expression turned strange as he glanced at Yao Lao.

Yeah... anyone would be furious over that.

”Cough.” Yao Lao cleared his throat, stroking his beard without saying a word.

Wei Yang continued, ”During one of my past adventures, I was fortunate enough to discover an ancient ruin where I came across the Rainbow Poison Book.

The book contained a great deal of information about the Woeful Poison Body... It also mentioned a certain Poison Pill Method that is said to be capable of perfectly controlling the Woeful Poison Body.”

This statement was half-truth, half-lie.

The Rainbow Poison Book indeed contained many records, but it never actually described such a Poison Pill Method.

”Oh?” Yao Lao’s hand paused slightly. He gave Wei Yang a surprised glance. ”You’ve got quite the luck.”

Wei Yang simply spread his hands and smiled. ”Unfortunately, the book only mentioned this method in passing. There were no specifics.”

”With Senior’s vast knowledge, have you ever heard of such a method? Or perhaps, do you know where to find it?”

Yao Lao’s eyes flickered, and after a brief moment, his expression turned smug. ”Brat, you’re in luck. Not only have I heard of this Poison Pill Method, but I also possess its complete formula.”

Wei Yang’s eyes lit up instantly. He asked eagerly, ”Truly? Senior has the actual method?”

Yao Lao merely smiled, fingers stroking his beard, saying nothing.

Wei Yang thought for a moment, then flipped his hand, revealing a jade bottle. He smiled. ”Senior, you don’t seem to be in the best condition. This bottle contains a Tier 4 Soul Nourishing Liquid, which is quite effective for restoring the soul.

Additionally, the first time it is consumed, it even provides a minor boost to soul strength... Though of course, that effect may not be significant enough for someone of your level.”

”Oh?”

Yao Lao’s gaze sharpened as he stared at the jade bottle. A glimmer of desire flashed in his eyes. ”A Tier 4 Soul Nourishing Liquid?”

”Yes, I developed this elixir myself.”

Wei Yang said with a hint of pride, ”Its main ingredients include three rare Tier 4 Soul Nourishing Lotuses, supplemented with a Rank 3 water-attributed Magic Core and Tier 4 Clear Spirit Grass...”&nbsp

He went on to explain the formula in detail, covering the refining process, the heat control, and the exact ingredient ratios.

Yao Lao listened with increasing interest, nodding repeatedly in approval. ”Not bad, not bad. This formula is a bit rough—it’s not optimized to fully extract the medicinal properties—but for someone your age to achieve this, it’s already quite impressive!”

He then casually commented, ”Your control over flame should be adjusted like this... As for the ingredient ratios, you should modify them like this... If done correctly, the elixir’s potency could increase by at least thirty percent.”

Wei Yang listened intently, nodding repeatedly while asking occasional questions. Yao Lao patiently explained each one.

Watching Wei Yang behave like an attentive student, Yao Lao couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

Not only does this brat have talent, but he also has an exceptional comprehension ability and natural intuition for alchemy.

Truly an outstanding seedling for a future master alchemist.

What a pity... What a shame!

If only I had met him a few years earlier... Maybe...

Yao Lao glanced at Xiao Yan, who was standing dumbfounded at the side, listening without fully understanding the depth of the conversation.

Why does he suddenly seem... less promising?

For a brief moment, Yao Lao hesitated.

But almost immediately, he shook his head and discarded that thought.

With his life experience, he knew that the worst thing one could do was to be indecisive and change plans impulsively.

At the very least, he had watched Xiao Yan grow up from the shadows. He knew his roots, had tested his character, and trusted his temperament.

Forget it.

Forget it.

I’ll just give Wei Yang some guidance and consider it a favor owed.

Yao Lao sighed internally.

Looking at Wei Yang, he couldn’t help but genuinely like this young man.

There was something about him—his composure, his intellect, his talent—that reminded Yao Lao of Han Feng.

No... Wei Yang’s talent surpasses Han Feng’s. His comprehension is greater, his instincts sharper.

But thinking of Han Feng made Yao Lao’s mood sink.

That traitorous disciple...

”Senior, could you lend me the Poison Pill Method for a brief look? I promise to return it immediately after reading it.”

Wei Yang lightly lifted his hand, and the Soul Nourishing Liquid bottle floated toward Yao Lao, hovering in front of him.

Yao Lao extended his ghostly, transparent hand and grasped the jade bottle. He gently uncorked it.

At once, a strange yet pleasant medicinal fragrance spread through the air, invigorating the mind and soothing the soul.

Even Xiao Yan’s eyes burned with desire as he stared at the small jade bottle in Yao Lao’s hand.

A Tier 4 medicinal elixir!

The craving from his very soul told him that if he consumed this elixir, he would gain immense benefits.

Wei Yang shot him a sidelong glance and said flatly, ”What are you thinking? That’s a Tier 4 elixir. Even though it’s meant for soul recovery, the sheer medicinal power in it would explode your dantian and shatter all your meridians if you dared to consume it.”

Xiao Yan awkwardly rubbed his nose and fell silent.

After carefully inspecting the contents of the bottle, Yao Lao smiled in satisfaction and capped it. He looked at Wei Yang with an amused expression. ”This isn’t everything, is it?”

Wei Yang sighed helplessly, flipped his hand, and produced another jade bottle, tossing it over. ”This is all I have. These two bottles contain about sixty percent of the original batch. The remaining forty percent has already been consumed.”

Yao Lao finally nodded in satisfaction. He stored both bottles away and then, with another flick of his hand, produced an ancient-looking scroll.

”Two bottles of Tier 4 Soul Nourishing Liquid in exchange for a brief look at the Poison Pill Method? I suppose that’s acceptable.”

With that, he tossed the scroll over to Wei Yang.

”This elixir is extremely important to me in my current state, so I won’t make things difficult for you. Just take a look.”

Wei Yang caught the scroll with a smile. ”Many thanks, Senior.”

Without hesitation, he unfurled it and began reading carefully.

For Yao Lao, these two bottles of Soul Nourishing Liquid were, in a way, life-saving medicine.

They would nourish his currently frail soul and help it recover significantly.

After all, he was now like a rootless weed, a water source with no supply—every bit of soul power he used was lost permanently, with no means of replenishment.

If he wasn’t careful, he could weaken to the point of falling into another deep slumber—an unsettlingly insecure state.

So for Yao Lao, lending out the Poison Pill Method, which was practically useless to him at the moment, in exchange for two bottles of Soul Nourishing Liquid was an absolute win.

It was practically free.

After all, he wasn’t losing anything.

As for using the Poison Pill Method to threaten Wei Yang into trading the Green Lotus Core Flame?

That was impossible.

Yao Lao didn’t even need to think about it—Wei Yang would have to be an absolute fool to agree to such a trade.

So, Yao Lao simply made a decisive move, taking what he could without overreaching.

Besides, forming a good relationship wasn’t a bad thing.

Who knew when it might come in handy in the future?
