Xian’er immediately chose to enter seclusion to absorb and refine the Soul Nourishing Liquid.

By the next morning, after successfully refining the liquid, she was pleasantly surprised to discover that her soul power had increased even more than she had expected.

Estimating her current soul power, she realized it was now comparable to that of an ordinary high-tier peak Dou Wang.

Considering that she was only a three-star Dou Ling, yet her soul power had already reached this level, she was now on par with many naturally gifted alchemists.

It could be said that, to some extent, she had made up for the gap through acquired effort.

Excited, she quickly shared this news with Wei Yang.

”Oh? It seems the effects of the Soul Nourishing Liquid are even better than I anticipated.” Wei Yang touched his chin and murmured.

”Mm, the effects are indeed great!” Xian’er nodded happily and said excitedly, ”Brother Yang, with my current soul power, I feel like I can soon reach the peak of Tier 3. Perhaps by the time I reach the Dou Wang realm, becoming a Tier 4 Alchemist won’t be impossible!”

”Heh.” Wei Yang chuckled, ruffling her hair. ”You’re thinking too small. Even if I have to pile up resources, I’ll at least push you to the peak of Tier 6, or even Tier 7!”

”Tier 6 peak? Tier 7?!” Xian’er’s eyes sparkled with longing.

That level was something she had never dared to dream of before.

But now, did she really have a chance to reach it?

The next morning, after tidying up, Wei Yang left the small valley alone.

Unfolding his Black Wings, he hovered in midair and glanced back at the mist-covered valley below, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

”The terrain here is quite peculiar. It’s rare for such a large number of precious medicinal herbs to grow together like this in the outside world.”

”Moreover, for some reason, the energy here is extremely pure and dense... it almost feels like a small medicine realm!”

”Perhaps deep underground beneath this valley, some hidden secrets lie waiting to be uncovered. Maybe I should explore it in the future...”

Shaking his head, Wei Yang dismissed the thought. With a flap of his Black Wings, he transformed into a black-red streak of light, shooting across the sky toward the distance.

His gaze locked onto the direction of Wu Tan City, and a faint anticipation flickered in his eyes.

Yesterday was the Xiao Clan’s annual Dou Qi Examination for its younger generation.

If he remembered correctly, the day after the examination was when Nalan Yanran would visit to break off the engagement.

Which meant—it was today.

The famous moment!

The annulment!

And today, Xiao Yan would utter that legendary line—one that might be a bit melodramatic but had become incredibly famous:

”Thirty years to the east of the river, thirty years to the west—do not mock the youth for being poor!”

Wei Yang couldn’t help but wonder—Xiao Yan had lived two lifetimes, adding up to around thirty to forty years in total. When he shouted this line in public, would he feel a slight sense of embarrassment deep inside?

Hah!

The thought amused Wei Yang, and he chuckled.

He knew one thing for sure—he could never bring himself to say something like that in public.

Even if he were publicly humiliated by a broken engagement, no matter how furious or disgraced he felt, he still wouldn’t be able to say such words out loud.

But a scene as legendary as this—how could he possibly miss it?

Whoosh!

A black-red streak of light streaked across the sky!

Twelve years had passed since he arrived in this world...

Finally, the plot was about to officially begin!

Wu Tan City – Xiao Clan

Today, the atmosphere within the Xiao Clan felt particularly solemn.

At the entrance, several guards stood tall and alert.

Wei Yang approached, only stopping when he reached the main gate.

The guards turned their attention toward him, their eyes scanning his attire and demeanor. He looked extraordinary, and they were about to greet him politely—when suddenly, their expressions stiffened.

It seemed they recognized Wei Yang’s face.

”Are you... Master Wei? The alchemist, Wei Yang?” One of the guards stepped forward, his respectful tone carrying a hint of uncertainty.

”I am Wei Yang,” he nodded.

”It really is Master Wei!” The guards instantly became incredibly respectful.

One of them gestured for Wei Yang to enter, while another quickly turned and hurried inside to report his arrival.

Wei Yang nodded slightly and followed the guard into the Xiao Clan’s residence.

Clearly, the guards had already been instructed that if Wei Yang arrived, he was to be led inside immediately—without the need for further reporting.

Inside the main hall of the Xiao Clan.

Xiao Zhan and the three elders were warmly conversing with an elderly man dressed in a moon-white robe.

The old man had a beaming smile, his face full of vigor. His slightly narrow eyes occasionally flickered with sharp light. On the chest of his robe was a silver crescent moon, surrounded by seven golden stars.

Clearly, this elder was a Seven-Star Da Dou Shi.

A powerhouse of this level could easily overpower the entire Xiao Clan.

Beside the elder sat a young man and woman.

They were both dressed in the same moon-white robes.

The young man, who appeared to be around twenty years old, had an attractive face and a tall, upright posture, exuding natural charm. His presence quickly caught the attention of many Xiao Clan girls, who frequently stole glances at him.

On his chest, five golden stars gleamed, marking his strength—a Five-Star Dou Zhe.

Reaching the level of a Five-Star Dou Zhe at just twenty years old was an impressive feat. Not just in Wu Tan City, but even across the entire Jia Ma Empire, such talent was quite remarkable.

With his good looks, solid strength, and promising talent, it was no wonder some Xiao Clan girls were enchanted, their eyes filled with admiration.

However, the young man paid no attention to their subtle flirtations. Instead, all of his focus was directed at the beautiful girl sitting beside him.

This girl appeared to be around fifteen years old, roughly the same age as Xian’er.

Her beauty was exceptional.

Among all the women in the hall, only one could rival her in appearance—the quiet girl sitting in the corner, absorbed in a thick book, exuding an air of elegance like a pure lotus. That girl was Gu Xun’er.

A faint noble aura surrounded the young girl. Dangling from her delicate earlobes was a pair of exquisite green jade earrings that swayed slightly, producing a crisp, melodious chime.

Additionally, near her developing, delicate chest, three golden stars were embroidered.

A Three-Star Dou Zhe.

A fifteen-year-old Three-Star Dou Zhe, with outstanding talent and breathtaking beauty—no wonder the young man beside her had no interest in the Xiao Clan girls’ flirtatious glances.

The hall’s atmosphere was lively, filled with the feeling of a pleasant gathering.

However, the elderly man seemed to have something difficult to say. Several times, he hesitated, swallowing his words.

Each time this happened, the noble young girl beside him would shoot him a subtle yet sharp glare.

At this moment, Xiao Yan was also in the hall.

Having just turned fifteen, he sat beside Gu Xun’er, the two occasionally whispering to each other.

However, Xiao Yan’s expression did not look good. His fists were faintly clenched.

Through his conversation with Gu Xun’er, he had already begun to suspect the purpose of these three guests visiting the Xiao Clan.

Especially that noble girl—who turned out to be his fiancée, Nalan Yanran!

Suddenly, Xiao Yan’s face darkened.

Because across from him, under the repeated signals and urging glances from the noble girl, the elderly man finally stood up.

”Ahem.”

The moon-white-robed elder cleared his throat awkwardly and clasped his hands toward Xiao Zhan, just about to speak—

Creak!

At that moment, the hall’s doors were suddenly pushed open from the outside.

An old steward, his hair and beard completely white, walked in quickly. His steps were urgent as he went straight to Xiao Zhan’s side and leaned in to whisper:

”Patriach, Master Wei has arrived!”

The moon-white-robed elder frowned slightly at this interruption, looking somewhat helplessly at the noble girl beside him.

The noble girl gritted her teeth, clearly annoyed, but could only suppress her impatience for now.

”Master Wei?” Xiao Zhan was momentarily stunned before his expression turned to one of great joy.

Beside him, the three elders also showed visible excitement as they eagerly asked the steward:

”Is it that Master Wei?”

The steward nodded firmly. ”Yes, it is.”

With this confirmation, Xiao Zhan and the three elders were visibly elated.

”Excellent! Master Wei has finally arrived!”

Xiao Zhan then turned toward the moon-white-robed elder and apologized, ”I’m sorry, but an important guest has just arrived.”

The elder waved his hand and smiled, ”It’s no problem at all.”

Xiao Zhan nodded gratefully before giving a meaningful glance to the First Elder, speaking in a low voice:

”First Elder, go and welcome him.”

At the same time, he instructed the steward, ”Prepare the finest tea.”

”Understood!”

The First Elder stood up, offered a polite smile to the three guests, and then quickly left the hall.

The young man and the noble girl frowned slightly, feeling somewhat displeased.

However, the moon-white-robed elder remained composed. Instead of showing dissatisfaction, he was actually quite intrigued.

Who was this important guest?

To be treated with such high regard by the Xiao Clan—even on par with their own arrival from the Yun Lan Sect?
