Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Old Monster”Bring out all your best wine and dishes.”

”Coming right up, esteemed guest! You’ve come at just the right time. The kitchen just finished braising a pot of beef. Please wait a moment, I’ll bring you a plate of beef and some good wine first, so you can enjoy it. Oh, and do you need a private room?”

”No need, I’ll eat on the first floor.”

Lin Feng waved his hand.

”Alright, please come this way.”

The waiter led Lin Feng to a square table, then quickly departed.

Lin Feng sipped the tea on the table, slowly releasing his divine sense to cover the entire restaurant.

This way, Lin Feng would know any important news immediately.

After about ten minutes, the same waiter returned with a plate of red, savory beef and a pot of wine.

”Please enjoy. More is coming.”

”Mm.”

Lin Feng nodded slightly, then sighed. He had been listening for so long his ears were practically calloused, but besides some idle chatter, there was no important information at all.

It was also that Lin Feng had thought things a bit too simply. Even if his luck was high, it was impossible to just walk into any restaurant and immediately find out where treasures were located.

However, just as Lin Feng was about to retract his divine sense to eat properly, he suddenly heard a storytelling-like tone from outside the restaurant.

”Speaking of last time, on the summit of Cloud Mountain, a startling thunderbolt struck...”

An old man in ragged clothes sat on the stone bricks outside the restaurant, vividly recounting a tale.

Gradually, a curious crowd gathered around him.

”Old man, why are you still telling this story today? You’ve been telling it for days! Hurry up and tell a new one!”

A young man egged him on.

The people around him also chimed in.

However, the old man paid no attention to them. Instead, he took out a wine gourd, opened it, and poured some into his mouth.

A few drops of cloudy wine slid from his tongue down his throat.

The old man smacked his lips reluctantly.

”With wine, there’s naturally a good story to tell. And I’m telling you, this story is something I experienced myself.”

”Oh please, you’re just a beggar. How could you experience such an immortal 緣? You probably just picked up some fanciful little book somewhere.”

Seeing that the old beggar wanted money, the surrounding people waved their hands and left, leaving the old beggar alone on the stone bricks. He slowly tilted to the side, eventually lying directly at the entrance of the restaurant.

The waiter, seeing this, quickly grabbed a cup of wine, intending to send the old beggar away.

This old beggar had been in the city for some years, and most people recognized him. So, no matter where he went to beg for wine, shopkeepers would usually show some respect and give him a small cup of cheap wine.

”Waiter, bring that old man in. I want to treat him to a meal.”

”Ah? This... this, alright, please wait a moment.”

The waiter, who was about to go out, quickly nodded. Then he woke up the old man at the door and pulled him over to Lin Feng.

”Elder, please sit.”

Lin Feng smiled slightly, gesturing to the seat in front of him.

”Haha, you want to treat me to a drink?”

The old beggar looked at the good wine and dishes in front of him and immediately revealed a mouthful of yellow teeth. A foul odor also emanated from him.

The surrounding diners, disgusted, paid their bills and left.

This scene also alarmed the restaurant owner, who quickly came out to demand an explanation.

Just as he was about to ask Lin Feng for an explanation, Lin Feng threw a large gold brick, hitting the owner directly in the face.

”Bring me all your best wine and dishes!”

The owner, dazed from being hit by the gold brick, quickly confirmed its authenticity. Then he slapped the waiter on the head.

”Didn’t you hear the master? Hurry up!”

”Yes, yes, owner.”

”You two enjoy your meal, I’ll go get you more wine.”

The owner said with a fawning smile. After all, money makes the world go round. Never mind bringing in a beggar, you could even bring a few famous courtesans from a brothel to indulge in debauchery in broad daylight, and it would be fine.

”How is it, Elder? Is my hospitality acceptable?”

”Haha, young man, you want to hear the rest of my story?”

The old beggar, who had been tipsy just moments ago, suddenly felt more energetic.

Lin Feng smiled and nodded.

The old beggar, however, unhurriedly picked up a piece of beef with his chopsticks and put it into his mouth.

”No rush, let this old man eat a few bites first.”

”Alright, please eat slowly. I’ll pay for as much as you eat today.”

Lin Feng poured a cup of tea and calmly watched the old beggar feast.

Before long, plate after plate of delicious food was brought up. Lin Feng mostly watched the old man eat, mouthful of wine and mouthful of meat, barely eating anything himself.

The table was now piled high with empty plates.

Lin Feng grew increasingly curious about this old man.

To be able to eat so much, he definitely wasn’t an ordinary person. Even if he was naturally a big eater, there’s no way you could drink three jars of wine and twenty pounds of meat in one sitting, right?

”Waiter, keep it coming!”

After Lin Feng spoke, the owner walked over to Lin Feng’s ear and whispered, ”Master, this old beggar is probably scamming you. Please don’t treat him anymore, this is all good money.”

”Oh? Why do you say that?”

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow, asking curiously.

”Alas, actually, you’re not the first person to treat this old beggar to a meal. Before, others were curious about the rest of his story and treated him to wine. But this old man is like a starving ghost reborn; he can never eat enough, and he can never get drunk, no matter how much he drinks. Every time, he ends up being thrown out.”

”It’s fine. You keep bringing the dishes. You won’t be short on money.”

”This... alright.”

The restaurant owner could only nod. After all, you can’t be at odds with money.

Seeing the old man so strange, Lin Feng was also curious and scanned him with his scanning gun.

However, the scan result greatly surprised Lin Feng.

”Name: Chen Dao, Cultivator; Cultivation: Peak Nascent Soul Stage (Sealed); Age: 1652 years old; Attributes: Sealed.”

”Holy cow, Peak Nascent Soul Stage?!”

Lin Feng exclaimed inwardly. He heard that the Cloud Mountain Sect Master was only at the early Nascent Soul Stage! And he had a peak Nascent Soul Stage old monster sitting right in front of him???

However, why would such an awesome person have his cultivation sealed?

Could it be related to the story he was telling???

Lin Feng’s heart was in turmoil.

What kind of incredible luck did he have today?

”Elder, please eat slowly. Order whatever you like.”

Lin Feng continued to say with a smile, clearly treating the old beggar like his own family.

Damn it, a Nascent Soul Stage old monster! If he curried favor a bit, whatever flowed from his fingertips would be enough for Lin Feng, a Golden Core Stage nobody.
