Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

The system is aliveStanding on the city wall, Lin Feng looked at the endless swarm of insects and actually felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.

At the same time, platforms rose every 20 meters along the wall, each equipped with a rapid-fire cannon; it was clearly a powerful weapon for dealing with the swarm.

”I have a feeling the humans are at a significant disadvantage. Oh well, if we can’t win later, I’ll just pull out some futuristic weapons.”

Lin Feng sighed, then raised his rifle and rested it on the steel wall.

”Prepare to fire!”

An officer shouted, waving a submachine gun in his hand. Although he didn’t know what language it was, Lin Feng understood it.

”Fire! Drive these bugs away!”

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

Tongues of fire surged out from the wall.

The officer was also firing his weapon while shouting words to boost morale.

Even Lin Feng felt his blood boiling.

I hope the humans of this world can drive away the insectoid invaders, Lin Feng thought.

Lin Feng thought to himself, then began pulling the trigger even harder.

I have to say, this gun is surprisingly easy to use.

There is almost no recoil, the accuracy is very high, the range is over two thousand meters, and the rate of fire reaches eight hundred and fifty rounds per minute.

A single magazine holds two thousand rounds. Lin Feng had observed carefully: if a bug is hit in the head twice, it will meet its end.

So, the lethality of this gun is also quite impressive.

I wonder what kind of black technology weapon this is.

Although the swarm was endless, Lin Feng noticed that with the human firepower, it seemed they could completely suppress the swarm at a distance of over one hundred meters.

Since they are so powerful, why are they being invaded to the point where they have to build survival bases to fight the bugs?

Before Lin Feng could think it through, a rumbling sound suddenly came from behind.

Then, he saw over a hundred mechs, each a dozen meters tall, slowly walking out from the camp behind them.

”Huh?”

”No way, with this kind of strength, they shouldn’t be getting beaten up so badly by the bugs, right?”

After the war mechs were deployed, they slowly advanced toward the city gate.

However, their speed was indeed a bit frustrating.

About ten minutes later, the city gates opened, and the war mechs walked out one by one, then charged directly toward the swarm.

Under the suppression of absolute firepower, the swarm army was forced to retreat a distance once again.

Just then, a large area in the rear of the swarm suddenly cleared.

Then the ground began to shake, and a group of insects, similar in size to the mechs and capable of flight, crawled out from underground.

”Are these... a cross between scorpions and dragonflies???”

Looking at the creatures in the distance that had the bodies of scorpions but the wings of dragonflies, Lin Feng wondered.

These bugs were clearly not ordinary. The Soldier on the wall were all on high alert, and the mech formation even retreated several dozen meters to prepare for battle.

What Lin Feng didn’t expect was that these flying scorpions also possessed long-range attack capabilities.

The stingers on their tails could fire highly corrosive venom.

After breaking through the barrage woven by the hundreds of mechs, the scorpions began to spew venom frantically.

The mech army had to retreat again, all while firing back.

”These flying venom scorpions are truly troublesome. We blew up their nest last time, so where did so many more come from?”

A Soldier beside him said with a worried expression.

Hearing this, Lin Feng, who was already suspicious of the humans’ firepower, felt that something was increasingly wrong.

Humans are being pushed to the point of needing to build walls to survive, so how would they have the ability to blow up the insectoids’ nest??

Something is wrong, something is wrong.

Very wrong.

If you were to zoom out at this moment, you would see that the survival base has a translucent protective shield, and the outside of the shield is covered with bugs, one after another flooding into the torn gaps.

However, Lin Feng didn’t know this. He just found it strange that the humans’ strength was clearly not weak, so why were they being beaten like this by the bugs?

About two hours later, the flying venom scorpions from the swarm were finally dealt with, though the humans paid the price of twenty-three damaged mechs.

With the flying venom scorpions wiped out, the swarm army had no hope of breaking through the wall and had to flee in defeat.

”Hmph, these bugs. A bunch of natives daring to oppose the Empire.”

At this moment, the officer of the garrison had just walked up behind Lin Feng and said casually.

”Restart the oxygen shield, patch up the damaged area, and continue expanding outward tomorrow!”

”Yes! Officer.”

...

Expanding outward?

The speaker didn’t mean anything by it, but the listener paid attention. Lin Feng suddenly realized that it wasn’t that the humans’ home was being occupied by the insectoids, but rather that the humans were invading the insectoids’ home.

Then this survival base he understood must be a colonial base.

”Well, it seems I misunderstood. But if they are invading other planets, they should have spaceships. Why are they still using gunpowder guns? Are they clearing out old inventory?”

[Ding dong! Seekers Lin Feng has completed the mission for this sub-floor. Reward issued: Permanent Floor Beacon Point. Details can be viewed on the Elevator screen.]

[Ding dong! The Elevator will arrive in ten minutes and stay on this sub-floor for two hours.]

”That completes the mission? So simple...”

Lin Feng yawned. He had barely put in any effort; he just stood there pulling the trigger without even aiming.

But with the density of the swarm, he could hit his target even without aiming.

Just as Lin Feng thought this floor was done, the system suddenly popped up.

”Beep. Host, please assassinate all high-ranking officers of this base and blow up or empty the armories within the base. Hint: There are two armories in this base; please find their specific locations yourself. All high-ranking officers are currently holding a meeting in the conference room. Mission Reward: Cultivation level increased to the late stage of Golden Core.”

”Huh? No, System, why didn’t you assign the task earlier? There’s only two hours left, damn it. Oh well, I’ll do my best.”

Although Lin Feng was complaining, his actions were very honest.

He nimbly ran down the city wall and began wandering around the base.

Based on Lin Feng’s experience, such a large and complex base must have signs, so as long as he wandered around, he would soon find the armories and the conference room.

Ten minutes later, the Elevator arrived, and Lin Feng had just found the sign pointing to the armory.

Because Lin Feng did not choose to return to the Elevator, it disappeared again. If Lin Feng wanted to return, he just needed to say ”Return to Elevator.”

After following the signs to the armory, Lin Feng felt relieved when he saw the few lazy guard Soldier outside.
