After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1646: Chapter 1650: I Didn’t Scare You Just Now, Did I?

”Don’t misunderstand us, we aren’t thieves, we... we just wanted to find a place to meet up!” Mo Bei released Jiao Yang, turning to face them with a smile, ”We... we thought no one was here...”

As she spoke, one of her hands secretly shook Jiao Yang’s arm, signaling him to cooperate.

Jiao Yang got the hint and quickly echoed, ”Yes, we didn’t mean to intrude, we thought it was an empty space... no one here, so we just ran in...”

Mo Bei then reached into his suit pocket, took out his wallet, pulled out a few bills, and handed them to the security guards, saying appeasingly, ”We’ll leave right away, please don’t call the police, okay?!”

Looking at the two, the guards also felt they didn’t look like thieves.

One’s so pretty, the other’s in a suit and leather shoes, with a wallet full of cash... with this attire, they surely don’t seem lacking in money.

The guards trusted their words, and the slightly older man waved them off, ”Go quickly, couples usually meet at cinemas or parks, not like you guys. Luckily, we didn’t set the dogs loose, otherwise, what would happen if they bit you?!”

”Uncle is right, we won’t dare next time, thank you, uncle. Shall we go?!” Mo Bei tucked Jiao Yang’s wallet back into his pocket, thanked repeatedly, and then prepared to climb out the gate.

”Climbing?!” The middle-aged guard hurriedly stopped her, ”Use the main gate, I’ll take you out!”

”Thank you!”

The two apologized promptly and were escorted out by the guards.

”I love these hardworking folks; they’re so genuine!” Mo Bei waved at them from afar, ”Goodbye, uncle!”

”No need to call the police?” Jiao Yang asked with a slight frown.

”No need, they’re just trying to get me back home!” Mo Bei glanced around, grabbing his hand again, ”Let’s hurry before they find us!”

She led him in a huge circle back to her residential area, and only when she was sure no one was following did she lead him to her unit door.

Jiao Yang fished out his car keys from his pocket, ”Do you really dislike being home?!”

”Just wanted some fresh air.” Mo Bei stuck out her tongue, licking her lips, ”You weren’t scared earlier, were you?”

Jiao Yang laughed, ”We used to play games like this, deliberately run red lights to tease the cops, then escape... haven’t done it in a while; it was quite thrilling today!”

Mo Bei smiled, ”Then let’s play again someday!”

”Forget it, I’m old and can’t run anymore!” Jiao Yang glanced at his watch, ”Let’s head upstairs, I’m going back, good night!”

He turned to pull open the car door, but Mo Bei suddenly stepped forward and kissed him on the cheek, ”Good night!”

With that, she turned and ran up the steps, waving her hand with her back to him, entering the building.

Jiao Yang raised his hand to wipe away the saliva stain she left, only smiled lightly, and then got into the car, driving away.

At the exit of the neighborhood, watching as his car left the area, a black sedan immediately pulled out of its parking space, following him onto the road.

Jiao Yang quickly noticed the car.

”Guess I’ll just play along!”

Thinking it was someone sent by Mo Bei’s family to follow him, Jiao Yang didn’t mind, just smiled and buckled his seatbelt, stepped on the accelerator, and soon, he left the black sedan far behind.

”Damn it!” Seeing Jiao Yang’s car disappear into the traffic, the foreign driver cursed under his breath, ”We finally had a chance to catch him, and he got away again!”
