After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1609: Chapter 1613: Wanting to See Her in Person

In the hospital room, Shanxia Junzi was indeed already asleep. Only two people had seen her today: one was her attending physician, and the other was the female nurse he had met before.

The attending physician had already left after his shift, and the nurse was helping the doctor with a patient whose wound was bleeding. When she saw him, she smiled and nodded at him, not showing any signs of having done anything unusual.

”Add two more guards!” Leng Zirui entered the elevator again with Seo Shaochuan. ”Investigate this nurse and the attending physician, check who they’ve interacted with recently, see if there’s been any significant financial transactions or if their family members have gone missing, don’t overlook any suspicious details.”

...

...

Shanghai.

World Expo Intercontinental Hotel.

In the guest room.

Luo Ke, who had just finished watching Luo Xiaoqian’s live interview broadcast, slowly withdrew his gaze from the TV screen. His dark green eyes narrowed slightly, a shadowy expression flickering within them.

”Is everything set?”

”Everything’s ready,” Allen nodded.

”Good!” Luo Ke leaned back against the sofa, ”I can hardly wait to see her in person.”

Knowing that Luo Xiaoqian was coming to Shanghai today to record a program, he had specially rushed from Beijing, choosing to stay at a hotel not far from hers, intending to take her away personally.

Allen’s phone vibrated, and after glancing at the number, he answered the call, ”How did it go?!”

”We botched it, three people are dead, but there are no witnesses left.” The man’s voice on the other end sounded frustrated.

”Idiots!” Allen cursed softly, ”Find a way to exit the country immediately, I’ll arrange for the rest.”

”Okay!” The man on the other end agreed and hung up.

This man was the sniper who had ambushed Leng Zimo in the parking lot earlier, and was also the organizer and executor of this mission. He originally thought that with six men, capturing Leng Zirui would be a piece of cake.

”What happened?”

On the sofa, Luo Ke asked softly.

”Black Bear and his team failed, they didn’t capture Leng Zirui,” Allen replied.

Luo Ke didn’t speak, but his dark green eyes narrowed slowly, and his pupils constricted into tiny black dots.

Allen, having been by his side for many years, knew that Luo Ke was most dangerous at times like this, and quickly said, ”I’m sorry, sir, I’ll arrange for a more thorough plan next time!”

”I don’t want to hear the word ’failure’ again!” Luo Ke stated in a deep voice.

”Yes, I understand, sir!” Allen lowered his head, not daring to breathe loudly.

Standing up, Luo Ke strode towards the door, ”Prepare the car, I’ll go pick up Sissi myself!”

”Yes!”

Allen hurriedly walked over, opened the door for him, while signaling the guards outside to prepare the car, then followed him to the elevator. Soon, they left the hotel and drove to a secluded alley not far from where Luo Xiaoqian was staying.

Checking his watch, Luo Ke looked at Allen in confusion.

According to his request, at this time, they should have already handed Luo Xiaoqian over to him. Why was there no movement yet?

”Maybe there’s been a delay, please wait a little longer!”

Allen carefully reassured him, opened the car door, and stepped out.

Finally, just as Luo Ke’s patience was about to run out, a shadowy figure cautiously approached the alley, stopping in front of Allen outside the car.
