After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1636: Chapter 1640: The Year 2110

”I’m calling the police right now, this is... a kidnapping!”

”Calling the police?!”

Mo Bei chuckled, and the young people around seemed to hear some sort of huge joke and laughed along.

Tongtong pretended to be confused but soon realized that the call couldn’t go through; there was only a busy tone.

”Miss, don’t waste your battery. We’ve installed a jammer here. Unless you have a satellite phone, no one will hear you even if you scream your lungs out!” A teenager with dyed blonde hair shouted.

The people around burst into laughter again.

Tongtong lowered her phone, and her nervousness rose once more.

The call couldn’t connect, and it was clear everyone around was with Mo Bei. Now, she truly couldn’t seek help from anyone; in the middle of nowhere at night, they could easily do away with her, and no one would know.

Seeing Mo Bei standing there with arms folded and a smile, Tongtong hesitated for a moment but eventually stepped forward.

”Assistant Mo... um, it was my fault before, your bicycle... I’ll pay, ninety-eight thousand, right. I’ll give you a hundred thousand!” Tongtong reached into her bag, pulled out a check, and handed it to Mo Bei.

Next to them, Sasha burst into laughter, ”Sis, take a good look, can that thing even cash out?!”

Tongtong opened the checkbook and looked at the check.

The check was real, but it was dated 2110!

It was just a worthless check.

She had only focused on the numbers when she got the check and didn’t even notice the date on it.

This check was merely a prop to lure her over; Mo Bei never intended to give her a hundred thousand.

”It’s okay, I... I’ll transfer the money to you!” Tongtong rummaged through her purse, ”I have a card... I... I’m sorry, Assistant Mo, I didn’t bring it. I’ll transfer it to you as soon as I get back to the city, okay?”

Since she was attending a banquet and knew there would be car services for pick-up and drop-off, and food and drinks were covered, Tongtong didn’t bring her wallet, let alone a bank card?!

Mo Bei smiled, ”Sorry, no credit allowed!”

Knowing she was deliberately putting her in a tough spot, Tongtong was angry enough to bite her, but she put on a flattering smile, ”Mo sister, no, Mo elder sister, how about I write you an IOU and stamp it with my fingerprint, will that do?!”

”Sasha, give her some paper and a pen!” Mo Bei nodded, and Sasha quickly passed a sheet of paper and a pen to Tongtong.

Tongtong quickly took them, hurriedly wrote an IOU for one hundred thousand, and signed her name.

”You haven’t stamped it with your fingerprint yet?” Mo Bei lazily reminded.

”I... I didn’t bring ink!” Tongtong said with a bitter face.

”Beibei, how about taking a nude photo of her? Isn’t that what these celebrities fear?!” A boy not far away said with a mischievous smile.

”No!” Tongtong instinctively covered her chest. Determined, she bit her finger, stamped a bloody fingerprint on the paper, and handed it to Mo Bei, enduring the pain. ”Assistant Mo, is this okay?!”

”Okay!” Mo Bei casually took the IOU and stuffed it into her pocket, ”We haven’t finished hanging out yet, we definitely can’t leave now. How about Miss Tong go back on foot first?”

Walk back?!

Not to mention she didn’t know the way, even if she did, there were no cars available, and it would take at least an hour to walk to where she could catch a ride. Her legs would probably break!

”Then when are you guys going back, and could you take me along?!”
