After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1387: Chapter 1391: The Last Day of Life

After dinner, Luo Xiaoqian tidied up the dishes and immediately took out the board game she brought from the paper bag, ”Zimo, shall we play chess?”

Leng Zimo looked at the checkers board she had set up on the small table, ”Xiao Qian, I’m sorry.”

In all the time he had known her, he had never played chess with her before. He was always so busy before, although he doted on her, the actual time spent with her was not much.

”From now on, you can slowly make it up to me.” Luo Xiaoqian smiled as she took out the pieces, ”I want red, what about you?!”

”Black!”

So, the two of them set up the pieces and started playing chess.

Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t very talented in logical thinking, so naturally, she wasn’t a match for Leng Zimo, and the first round ended in quick defeat.

”Again!”

In the second round, halfway through, she started playing tricks.

”I want to jump this, and this, and this... Ha, Leng Zimo, you lost!”

”Again!”

This time, it was Leng Zimo who spoke.

For Leng Zimo, this game was extremely simple, he might even call it childish. If it were before, he wouldn’t have even touched it, but today, things were entirely different.

Tomorrow, he would undergo surgery; what the outcome would be, nobody knew.

Perhaps today would be the last day of his life!

He no longer had time to accompany her as he had promised, taking Luo Xiaoqian to see all the sights in the world, but at least he still had the chance to play an ordinary game of chess with her.

For Leng Zimo, neither money nor materials mattered as much to him as time; now, he just wanted to give his most treasured possession to the person he loved the most—Luo Xiaoqian.

The time of separation always felt excruciatingly slow, every second seemed as long as a world.

But the days spent together were the opposite; it seemed as if, in an instant, time had passed from morning to afternoon.

Luo Xiaoqian opened her eyes and looked at Leng Zimo’s face in front of her, her gaze still a bit hazy, ”How did I fall asleep?!”

He reached over the small table and picked up the cup, indulgently bringing it to her lips to let her take a sip of water before saying, ”You fell asleep halfway through the game.”

”I’m sorry.” Luo Xiaoqian looked apologetic.

It was already the second month of her pregnancy, and during this time, she found herself especially sleepy. Just a moment ago, she had been playing chess with him, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.

”Actually, I quite enjoy holding you while you sleep, it’s more fun than chess,” Leng Zimo said with a smile.

”You mean I’m boring when I play chess?” she pretended to ask sulkily.

”The main thing is to let you win without making you feel like I’m letting you win. It’s quite a challenge.”

Luo Xiaoqian immediately frowned with worry, ”Are you really tired then?”

”How could I be?” Leng Zimo adjusted her posture slightly, pressing his face to hers, ”I already had a rest while holding you as you slept.”

”Oh!” Luo Xiaoqian suddenly thought of their son, exclaimed, and raised her left hand, ”It’s already four o’clock, I have to go pick up Mo Mo immediately.”

”No need, I’ve already asked John and Ah Jiu to go together.”

Leng Zimo embraced her shoulders, running his fingers gently through her hair, his brows furrowing in pain.

This girl, sometimes she’s so clever, and sometimes she’s still a bit silly. What would she do without him?!
