After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1383: Chapter 1387: How’s Your Girlfriend Doing?

”Leng Zirui?!” Hearing his voice, Xu Xia’s voice was laced with surprise, ”It’s nothing, I just lay down, haven’t fallen asleep yet. Is it that something happened to Xiao Qian?!”

In case of nothing, Leng Zirui never called her, so Xu Xia naturally assumed there was something wrong.

”It’s nothing really, just wanted to check how you’re doing now. Weren’t you having a fever when you left? Things were too rushed this morning and I couldn’t take you to the airport. I didn’t hear when you texted because I was at the hospital,” Leng Zirui explained.

”It’s no big deal...” Xu Xia sat up straight, lifted her hand to press her temples, ”How is your girlfriend?”

”Girlfriend, what girlfriend?” Leng Zirui asked, puzzled.

”Come on, don’t pretend, I heard it all this morning, something about a miscarriage...”

Girlfriend? Miscarriage?!

At first, Leng Zirui didn’t understand, but then he realized she misunderstood Seo Fei’s miscarriage.

”What nonsense, there’s no such thing!”

”An explanation is a cover-up, you know? There’s nothing shameful about such things. You men only worry about your own enjoyment and not about the consequences!” Xu Xia took a deep breath, lifted her face, and blinked hard, ”Girls are very emotionally fragile at times like this. Comfort her well, prepare some soups and whatnot. A woman’s womb needs to be well taken care of, otherwise, it could affect having children in the future.”

Leng Zirui didn’t explain further, as Seo Fei’s situation wasn’t something he could let Xu Xia know. This girl is always so righteous, and if she found out about Xu Pei’s situation, who knows how she’d react. To avoid extra trouble, he didn’t dwell on the topic.

”You seem to know quite a bit.”

”Sister still counts as a woman, right?”

”Are you a woman?”

”Stop with the nonsense.”

Leng Zirui chuckled lightly, ”You still have the energy to bicker with me, seems like you’re doing okay. Alright then, I won’t disturb you anymore. Rest well, remember to drink more water, keep an eye on your temperature. Your voice sounds a bit hoarse, is your throat inflamed? If it’s not getting better, go see a doctor, don’t push through. Otherwise, it might get troublesome if it turns into a cough.”

Listening to his voice, Xu Xia just felt stifled in her heart, ”I’m fine, you should take good care of your girlfriend.”

Leng Zirui noticed the heavy nasal tone in her voice and frowned slightly, ”You’re not crying, are you?”

”What nonsense are you talking about? It’s your girlfriend who had the miscarriage, not me. Why would I cry...” Xu Xia wiped her face, ”Sister just caught a cold, nose is uncomfortable, not talking to you anymore, I’m going to find some tissues!”

”Alright then, take a good rest. When you come back to Beijing, I’ll treat you to a big meal to comfort your wounded little heart.”

”It’s a deal then. When the time comes, bring your girlfriend, and sister will help you give her a good assessment. Bye!” Xu Xia let her hand drop and hung up the phone. She wiped her eyes that were stinging, tossed the phone aside, quickly lay back onto the pillow, and pulled the covers over her head.

Tossing and turning, she couldn’t fall asleep.

So, Xu Xia started counting sheep, from one to one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two, but still couldn’t fall asleep...

Suddenly, she flung the cover off her head, angrily threw the pillow out, ”Why are you calling me in the middle of the night for no reason? So idle, now sister can’t sleep. Do you care?!”
