After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1099: Chapter 1103: Irreconcilable Differences Between Him and Me

”Of course he’s on my side.” Mentioning Leng Zirui, Luo Xiaoqian casually recalled the recent events. ”What’s going on with you two?”

”Him and me?!” Xu Xia snorted. ”That bastard, I’m utterly opposed to him!”

”What happened?” Luo Xiaoqian asked, bewildered.

Initially, Xu Xia had only a passing acquaintance with Leng Zirui, having met him face-to-face a few times without any interaction. After five years, their first meeting turned into mutual opposition, which naturally puzzled Luo Xiaoqian.

”That guy nearly got me arrested by the cops!” Xu Xia said angrily.

”Did you get into trouble again?”

”I... I accidentally hit his car. I apologized and offered compensation, but he insisted I was driving under the influence. All I did was eat some liquor chocolates!” Xu Xia complained through gritted teeth. ”As if accusing me of drunk driving wasn’t enough, he also behaved like a hooligan!”

”That can’t be true, right?” Luo Xiaoqian was somewhat skeptical. As carefree and irresponsible as Leng Zirui might seem, Luo Xiaoqian knew very well that such behavior was only superficial. That man definitely wasn’t like that. Examining Xu Xia’s face, Luo Xiaoqian gently tapped her on the arm. ”You probably lost your temper at him first, didn’t you?”

Knowing her friend all too well, Luo Xiaoqian immediately suspected that Xu Xia was partly responsible, based on her past behavior.

”Are you even my friend, always siding with guys over me?” Xu Xia pouted. ”It was wrong of me to hit his car, but I really did apologize and didn’t lose my temper.”

”Really didn’t?” Luo Xiaoqian asked with a smile.

”...” Xu Xia pursed her lips. ”I was just really upset, so I kissed him. I was scared the cops would arrest me. If something really happened, my career would be ruined...”

Luo Xiaoqian was speechless. ”You kissed him and then claimed he was behaving indecently?”

”I kissed him, that’s him taking advantage of me! If he kisses me, that’s being indecent!” Xu Xia immediately retorted.

Luo Xiaoqian looked at her good friend’s slightly flushed cheeks. ”So you two have been kissing back and forth more than once?”

”What kissing back and forth, it was a forced kiss, being indecent... If it weren’t for your sake, I’d definitely report him to his boss!” Xu Xia was still indignantly.

”Xu Xia!” Luo Xiaoqian steadied her arm, speaking seriously. ”No matter what, you’re also at fault in this. Just let it go, alright? Consider it a favor to me!”

It was a critical time; she couldn’t let Xu Xia cause trouble for Leng Zirui.

”Alright!” Xu Xia agreed languidly. ”As long as he doesn’t bother me in the future, I’ll be magnanimous and not hold a grudge against that brat!”

Anyway, she kissed him, he kissed her, and she even nipped him once. Let’s just call it even!

Her handbag rang; seeing Lan Zi’s number, Xu Xia hung up the call. ”Xiao Qian, I’ve got to go!”

”Is the work in the United States done?!” Luo Xiaoqian stood up.

”Relax, girl. I’ve already worked overtime to get it done. Initially, I wanted to use this opportunity to spend a few more days there, but now it seems impossible.” Xu Xia rose from the sofa, picked up a paper bag, and handed it to Luo Xiaoqian. ”This is for you. Wear this when Leng Zimo regains his memory, and I guarantee you won’t be able to get out of bed the next day!”

”You’re so improper!” Luo Xiaoqian gave her a sidelong glance while taking the bag. ”Thanks!”
