After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 485: Chapter 488: Father Leng’s Invitation【6】

As she flipped through the pages, the handwriting grew more and more beautiful, and the dreams matured.

Clearly, this was her dream diary, chronicling all the dreams Luo Xiaoqian had from her childhood until she slowly grew up. Those with checkmarks behind them were probably the dreams that had been realized.

Leng Zimo read the dreams carefully, word by word, and found himself reading from the afternoon until dusk.

Luo Xiaoqian tiptoed up to the attic and paused when she saw him sitting by the window with the diary, a shock crossing her face. When she recognized what he was holding, her face flushed instantly, and she snatched the book from his hands.

”How can you read my stuff without my permission?”

Leng Zimo stood up and helped her remove a piece of torn paper from her hair, ”Good things should be shared.”

”Just some silly things I did when I was little.” Luo Xiaoqian casually placed the book on the table. ”Come on, let’s go buy groceries.”

The two went downstairs together, and before they left the house, Luo Xiaoqian didn’t forget to pick up a pair of light-colored sunglasses and hand them to him while she put on a baseball cap.

They left the house and found few people on the small street outside because of relocation; most of the residents had already moved away, leaving the buildings empty.

After walking for about twenty minutes, they reached the market Luo Xiaoqian mentioned. Both entered the busy market, where many people were buying groceries, but nobody paid much attention to them.

Those who were there to buy groceries were all busy workers, each in a hurry. No one had the energy to notice who was passing by, and naturally, nobody imagined that a pair of world-renowned superstars would be in such a market shopping for groceries.

Luo Xiaoqian expertly selected vegetables and haggled prices...

Leng Zimo, of course, wasn’t skilled at these things; he just followed her. As she bought the groceries, he naturally took them from her and carried them in his hands.

By the time Luo Xiaoqian finished shopping, his hands were full of bags.

”If the employees of Emperor View saw you like this, they would think I’m abusing their boss,” Luo Xiaoqian said with a laugh, reaching out to help him with some bags. Leng Zimo, however, lifted his hand to avoid hers, ”This is a man’s job!”

Back home, the two cooperated like a married couple. Luo Xiaoqian washed the rice and vegetables, while Leng Zimo took to the kitchen to cook. The meal was a simple affair of three dishes and one soup, but they both savored it sweetly.

After the meal, Luo Xiaoqian tidied up the kitchen and washed the dishes. Leng Zimo stood at the kitchen door, watching her bustle about. When she finished and washed her hands, he smilingly suggested, ”Shall we take a walk by the beach?”

”Sure!” Luo Xiaoqian untied her apron.

There were hardly any residents nearby, so she was not worried about encountering anyone.

Luo Xiaoqian’s house was very close to the beach, just a few minutes’ walk away.

By that time, it was already evening. In the night, the sea was undulating and the sound of the waves was ceaseless.

”Dad wasn’t around, mom was always busy, and I’d come to the beach to play by myself.”

Picking up a seashell, she casually threw it into the sea and continued to walk, recalling the past. Leng Zimo listened quietly, and when they grew tired, the two sat down on a rock and quietly enjoyed the sea breeze.

”It’s getting late; let’s head back,” Luo Xiaoqian said, glancing at her watch and standing up.

Leng Zimo walked straight up to her and crouched down before her, ”Hop on.”

”No need, I’m not tired!” Luo Xiaoqian hastily protested.

Leng Zimo turned his face toward her, ”I want to carry you home.”
