Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan stood up and left the study.

Che Huan breathed a sigh of relief, and once she heard his footsteps fading away quickly, she hurriedly went to the door and locked it from the inside, rubbing her constantly strained heart. Fortunately, he left, or her heart might have failed from the stress!

After standing for a few minutes, she walked out to the balcony and looked down to see Gu Jizhou sitting on the steps in front of the building, smoking.

She sat on the balcony with her knees hugged to her chest, watching Gu Jizhou while trying to call Qin Shaojin, but no one answered.

She sat there for an hour; having not slept well the previous night, Che Huan soon dozed off against the balcony railing.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when she suddenly heard the door open. Che Huan, who had been sleeping lightly, woke up with a start and turned to see Huo Jinnan placing dishes and rice on the desk, her mind going blank with shock!

She clearly remembered locking the door; how did he get in? ”You... you...”

”In this world, there’s no door I want to enter that I cannot,” said Huo Jinnan as he walked towards Che Huan.

Che Huan tried to get up in a panic. Her limbs were numb, and she lost her balance, her head hitting the railing hard, causing a sharp pain.

Huo Jinnan looked down at her and suddenly reached out his hand.

Che Huan glanced at it but didn’t take his hand, choosing instead to sit and rub her foot.

After waiting a minute, Huo Jinnan’s brows furrowed slightly, and he suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her up abruptly.

Che Huan wanted to struggle, but she was lifted horizontally into his arms!

Che Huan, losing control of her emotions, called out, ”Mr. Huo!”

Huo Jinnan looked down at the person in his arms, irritated, ”Afraid that Gu Jizhou won’t hear?”

Hearing his deep voice, Che Huan quieted down, though her heart still felt like it was about to leap from her chest.

Huo Jinnan glanced downstairs and carried Che Huan back into the study.

Gu Jizhou, hearing Che Huan’s voice, stood up and looked in their direction, only to see a dark silhouette disappearing, which made him feel increasingly agitated!

”Mr. Huo!”

Thinking of the three words he had just heard, he closed his eyes, his whole body stiffening!

Mr. Huo?

Was it Huo Jinnan?

He dialed Huo Jinnan’s phone again.

Huo Jinnan put Che Huan down, picked up the phone, glanced at it, and answered it without speaking.

Gu Jizhou was silent for a while, breathing erratically, ”Uncle, where are you? I have some matters and would like to come to see you now.”

”I’m out, let’s do it some other day,” Huo Jinnan said, looking at Che Huan, signaling her to have dinner.

Che Huan didn’t move, just looked at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, ”If it’s nothing urgent, I’ll hang up first.”

”Uncle, wait!” Gu Jizhou looked up at the direction where the dark figure had vanished, struggling for breath as he asked, ”Are you at Qin Shaojin’s place?”

Huo Jinnan looked towards Che Huan, his eyes incredibly deep, and after a long pause, he said in a low voice, ”Why do you ask?”

”Just asking,” Gu Jizhou answered, trying his best to remain controlled, feeling as though his blood was about to freeze.

Huo Jinnan didn’t respond but pinched Che Huan’s hand and picked up the chopsticks nearby, asking casually, ”How are things going with GY International?”

”Still the same,” Gu Jizhou replied succinctly.

In a cool tone, Huo Jinnan said, ”Put some effort into it, don’t make your great-grandfather too troubled.”

Che Huan listened with alarm on the side, thinking, so he’s on the phone with Gu Jizhou now?

Did... did Gu Jizhou really hear that ”Mr. Huo” from earlier?

Even if she was out of the loop, the news about GY International was everywhere these last few days; it was hard not to know!

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”Are you waiting for me to feed you?”
