Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Gu Jizhou turned around and looked at Che Huan. Indeed, he saw the imprint of a slap on her face, deep and severe, causing half of her face to swell.

His eyes flickered for a moment, and he reached out to touch it.

Che Huan dodged away, ”Your mom thought I was pregnant and wanted to use this opportunity to climb up to the Gu Family. Please, explain things to her clearly.”

Gu Jizhou stared at Che Huan, his face half obscured in the darkness, his eyes slowly filling with malevolence.

Che Huan turned around and entered the room, slamming the door behind her with a ”bang.”

Gu Jizhou stood outside, heard the sound of the door locking from the inside, and heavily punched the wall.

Someone from the neighboring house came out and looked at Gu Jizhou, ”Are you crazy, punching a wall in the middle of the day for no reason?”

”Get lost!” Gu Jizhou gave the person a menacing glance.

The person, noticing Gu Jizhou’s expensive clothing and not wanting to provoke him, didn’t utter a word and turned back into the house.

Gu Jizhou punched the wall again, scrapping his knuckles until they bled, but he didn’t feel any pain!

Suddenly, he heard a baby crying, his expression darkened even more, and he glanced in the direction of room 901.

If it hadn’t been for that accident, for that child, would things between them not have ended up like this?

He loved her, yet before she could even fall in love with him, he had completely pushed her out of his world, making her hate him!

Suddenly, he felt regret, regretting that night when he had tried every means to invite her to his birthday party—eventually, it became an indescribable wound in his heart, an insurmountable barrier between them!

After what felt like a long while, he shook his empty cigarette pack, looked in the direction of room 901, and walked over to knock on the door, leaving a trail of cigarette butts behind him.

He knocked for half an hour, without any response. Coldly, Gu Jizhou spoke, ”Che Huan, what if I still won’t divorce you?”

All he got back was silence.

Sometime later, Gu Jizhou’s driver arrived, ”President Gu, Assistant Chen called earlier. The Madam couldn’t reach you and has gone to the company in a rage.”

Gu Jizhou stood there, indifferent, ”Let her be.”

Thinking about the Madam’s temper, the driver softly suggested, ”President Gu, you should probably get back soon.”

Gu Jizhou looked at the driver.

The driver looked down, about to speak again but held back.

After a while, Gu Jizhou glanced at his driver who had been waiting and said, ”Back to the company.”

...

Upon entering his office, Gu Jizhou saw Huo Jinyun sitting in the CEO’s chair.

Huo Jinyun was seated at Gu Jizhou’s desk. Seeing him enter, she slapped a divorce agreement she had found in the drawer onto the table, ”Sign your name now and divorce Che Huan. Immediately, at once!”

Gu Jizhou stood there, looking to the side, ”I have no plans to divorce!”

Huo Jinyun’s face darkened, ”She’s already trying to tread upon me, and you still won’t divorce? Are we expected to worship her once she enters the door of the Gu Family?”

Gu Jizhou laughed quietly, ”Can she really tread upon you? Didn’t you slap her today?”

Huo Jinyun let out two cold laughs, ”Constantly talking about divorce, and then she tattles to you? Truly a manipulative little actress! Would I lower myself to slap her if she hadn’t been so insolent? Ridiculous!”

Gu Jizhou looked at Huo Jinyun, his eyes very somber, ”Mom, she’s my wife. Don’t lay hands on her again—I’m telling you one more time.”

Huo Jinyun scoffed dismissively, stood up, took the agreement, and tossed it into Gu Jizhou’s arms, ”What’s so good about that wretch? To protect her, you talk to your own mother like this!”
